Announcements

Important End of Season information -- please read

STAR PLAYER BIDS ARE OPEN

Star Player bids will commence Wednesday (15th), and run to Friday (17th) at midnight, when bidding is closed. Who got who will be posted on Saturday all being well - and assuming it can't be done earlier. If you miss out initially, there will be a second round bidding process and you may make another bid on a player. All bids will be sealed and PM'd to Hero and sodhat. It should be made clear that you cannot make a big bid on a Star Player, and then not have the cash all at once. All money must be paid immediately, or you miss out. We aren't doing IOU's on it, and that applies to everyone.

To qualify for the second round you must have submitted a first round bid - you can't just wait and see what's left. If there are exceptional circumstances as to why you missed the deadline you may appeal to the runners, but these circumstances absolutely do not include "I was playing Ultimate Team for 4 days with the curtains closed."

My voice is gone.

Excellent night at Millwall v Crawley, several beers, bit of a fight, with a fellow Crawley fan, battered a Championship team on their own patch but couldn't get the job done, so outclassed them 4-1 on pens instead Yahoo

Everton

Due to 606/606v2, there's two long awaited clashes. Crawley v Norwich and Crawley v West Brom. Either tie, home or away, would be nice.

It's a lovely place TSJ, decent atmosphere at the ground. I would love for Norwich to play Crawley, although if we lost I might keel over and die.

Also looking forward to doing the double over Utd this season Wink

How was Milwall? I've never been to their stadium, only past it on a train from Croydon.

Soddy 4th game of the season Norwich vs West Ham should be great boxing

I hate the fact there is no Spurs fans here. They were the only 'big' club we beat last season.

It's down as a rough area, the ground is in an industrial estate but right by South Bermondsey train station with a walkway for away fans to and from the station. The ground itself is alright, the sort of ground that would be great if anywhere near full. Attendance was just over 4k in a 20k+ all seater stadium.

We should move on to 12 points with our inevitable victory there, and Carlton Cole's 4th hat-trick of the season.

I think they've always had trouble with attendances actually, judging from what I'd seen. My granddad was a Milwall fan, so it could have all been so different for me...

I'm technically a City fan. I'm not a City supporter, there's a difference, but I am a fan of their playing style and it was good to see them win the title.

Besides, Mancini has ripped off my 3-4-1-2 system (that I used in the pre-season friendlies page) so now I have a vested interest Whistle

But you all ripped off Napoli Wink

I like the style though, of all Italian sides, I think Napoli are my favourites to watch and just generally. I may waver if they sell Cavani though.

How many Star Player bids are in thus far?

Would there be much chance of repeating last season where we were PM'ed if we hadn't won/were currently ahead?

Open until Friday, or until everyone's bid is in? Theoretically, if everyone's bid is in tonight would we have to wait?

Napoli were using it more like this:

Maggio--------------------------------Dossena
--------------Inler---Gargano
---------Hamsik---------Lavezzi
----------------Cavani

The wide men are getting forward and back to help the defence when needed and they would break quickly. Hamsik/Lavezzi may also get a bit a wider. This season Eduardo Vargas replaces Lavezzi I imagine.

No, and I don't want to because I am impatient to get on to domestic deals!

But knowing the less frequent visitors may not see this for a while then we can't close it until the deadline has passed, unless they get them in too.

Isn't that 3-4-3? Technically it could be 3-4-3, 3-4-2-1, 5-2-2-1, 5-2-3, just easier to call it the Napoli style. But if your example is accurate, my 3-4-1-2 is different.

Napoli were using it more like this:

--------------De Sanctis
-----Campagnaro---Cannavaro---Aronica
Maggio--------------------------------Dossena
--------------Inler---Gargano
---------Hamsik---------Lavezzi
----------------Cavani

The wide men are getting forward and back to help the defence when needed and they would break quickly. Hamsik/Lavezzi may also get a bit a wider. This season Eduardo Vargas replaces Lavezzi I imagine.

Isn't that 3-4-3? Technically it could be 3-4-3, 3-4-2-1, 5-2-2-1, 5-2-3, just easier to call it the Napoli style. But if your example is accurate, my 3-4-1-2 is different.

Laugh

It could be categorised as any number of things, but when I saw City's team and then yours it immediately put me in mind of the style, and it's why I suggested Maggio yesterday. Hamsik tends to be a little deeper than the other two, but Lavezzi wasn't as advanced as Cavani so much either.

I would potentially nick their style next year too, I'm a fan of it and I like playing three at the back on occasion.

I am in a dilemma with my star player bid.

Do I go for someone everyone else is going for, to urine people off.
Or do I outbid Bull for Falcao.

Olly, crazy idea I know, but why not bid for someone who would, I don't know, improve your team?

Ah Napoli. You get the feeling they'd be beaten heavily by any team that can counter to perfection.

Other than Barcelona or Real Madrid, they're probably fine then.

My team now can't be improved. I improved it, whilst getting spanked week in week out Cool

Seriously who should I go for. I genuinely can't think of who to go for.

You should pick a Napoli style side from your players and post it on the Team for Next Season page. Get some feedback on it.
