The big one is about to begin once again lads. Hopefully week 1 will bring a lot of goals, controversy and maybe even a shock!
God I've missed Jeff Stelling and the boys!
Game on.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread
Shocks happen John believe it or not, look at Wigan's run in last season for starters. If the overwhelming favourite(s) turned up and won every week it would be a pretty boring league but luckily this doesn't happen. There is a reason why bookmakers clean up on football what with mug punters reading too much into form. Form is temporary and good teams lose.
Of course Arsenal should wipe the floor with Olly's boys but it doesn't always work like that I'm afraid. I wouldn't say Newcastle have been appalling this season either. Not great but hardly appalling.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread
You've clearly not watched 90 minutes of our games, appaling this season.
I'm not quite sure how Welbeck owned our reserve centre backs in Williamson & Perch but anyhow, all I remember is him missing about five chances......which is usual for him. Cleverley just scored from a cross against our reserve OAP keeper Steve Harper and then ridiculously tried to claim he meant it. Anyhow, Man United should beat us every week so what's your point?
Very agressive on here, I was only stating my opinions on the forthcoming matches. Sorry.

As soon as I saw us playing 4-4-2 I knew it was over. Ba & Cisse are awful together, add to the fact we had no Taylor, Coloccini or Krul and the inevitable was going to happen.

I am so excited for the Norwich game later. Looking forward to seeing the likes of Cazorla and Podolski getting owned by Tettey and the Norfolk Cafu. I BELIEVE!!!!

I am getting more impressed with Chelsea's title credentials as the season goes on. This would be a big win.

As a Chelsea fan, I'm loving the attacking midfield trio of Oscar, Mata and Hazard. So many dangerous options for teams to cope with.

It was a great through ball from Hazard for the 3rd goal, but Gallas turned slower than a 10 tonne lorry. How he gets in there team, let alone be captain is beyond me

Gallas was past it when he left Chelsea, why he's still playing in the PL is beyond me...
Still, a great result for Chelsea, the way they reacted to going behind really pleasing.

Especially as Villas Boas was trying to offload Dawson rather than Gallas.

Labour is no reason to miss a game, players are quite happy to leave their missus with a week old kid to go where ever- sentimentality at its best.
Also spurs arent really that good.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread
Ok so to sum up today:
Chelsea showed great spirit to come from behind against a decent Tottenham side, they have daylight in the title race. Man Utd same old same old. Great going forward, very dodgy at the back. Man City have shown a superb Champions spirit from 1 man down and a goal down to win. West Ham did well but it's clear to see that the Saints are struggling. Swansea are slowly getting back on track and Liverpool would have gotten a massive boost from their first home win. Finally, Fulham have made a decent start to the season. Still Norwich-Arsenal to come!

Sir Alex Ferguson to BBC: "I'm disappointed with Rio Ferdinand not wearing t-shirt. It's an embarrassment for me and he will be dealt with."
Rio being a pain in the arse finally annoying Ferguson?

Chuffed isn't the word for it!!
We were class, granted Arsenal were poor, but we defended like trojans, and should have had a least another goal!!

Nothing against QPR per se.
It's that bloody idiot Hughes who annoys me. Thinks he's a great manager and obviously too big for Fulham. So he goes to QPR just about hangs on in their by his finger nails last season, spends loads of money and now props up the Premiership this time round moaning about injuries and poor run of form.
Can't wait for the know-it-all to get sacked. Crap manager and good riddance to the joker when he goes..

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread
We really needed a win to kickstart out season but that red card just killed us. Yes, we were able to hang on but we should of won that game, Sunderland were dire and had to rely on a deflected own goal from a set-piece to unlock us.....says it all. Never a red in my opinion, was our free-kick and Fletcher was looking for it all day because prior to that moment Coloccini had him in his pocket.
Going to be a long hard season for us though. Top 8 and I will be happy.
