Literally minutes after signing him, the breaking news earlier today was Lucas Leiva being out injured for 2-3 months! I was expecting a month tops!

Signed Abou Diaby to strengthen my squad, seeing as he's back to full fitness, playing regularly for Arsenal and made the French squad for the World Cup qualifiers, a bargain at £4.4m.

Shouldn't be any reason why he wouldn't be.

But he's fit now Nando, and he's a good player, therefore should = ratings.

He's also going to be Alex Song's replacement as I think we all know Wenger won't spend to replace him Whistle

He's fit, but not necessarily a good player. He's got power and that's about it

If Owen Hargreaves plays two games, doesn't mean he should suddenly get back his ratings from 2008.

If Diaby gets a run of games together he is a real good player. One of the better DMs in the league, aNd was my backup target if I didn't get my current target.

However, that is a big if

With my change of plan, I am looking for a deep lying playmaker in the Pirlo, Cabaye, Modric mould in exchange for Mvila

Diaby for me is a mercurial player. When fit and one form, he can be unstoppable, it is literally just he is never fit.

He can play either and is probably best as a box to box player, but more often than not he has played DM for Arsenal

If you want a deep lying playmaker I would snap up Foxy Baby right away. That man can ping the ball around the park with such finesse, it gives me a funny feeling that I only feel when Holty scores a goal

So far I have the following ready to join the finalists in the final task:

Sod

One more volunteer would be good and we can then start with team picking and then the actual task itself

Real Madrid 2 Barcelona 1

Madrid win the supercup on away goals. Ronaldo's goal was world class. Messi scored a great freekick. Modric came on as a late sub and hit the crossbar. Sanchez is a diving Kumquat. That is all.

Seems like those midfields have got plenty of beef or plenty of ability to keep the ball, but not much flair to unlock a stubborn defence.

Seems the Premier League isn't going to be the most exciting to watch this year then with plenty of 0-0s and top class strikers twiddling their thumbs

No of course there are better CM's in the league. I'm not stupid enough to say that. But I do think they are better than Lucas injured Laugh

Depends how you want to play as a team. My tactics revolve around keeping the ball and have three very good passers in CM. If that is not your cup of tea, and you prefer the smash and grab of someone like de Jong, then fair enough.

I I actually rate your midfield as the best in the league Sod, I was just wumming the muscle flexing that was going on above. There is a lot of Galacticos building based on names, rather than a balanced team that would work well together (which is why I rate your midfield the highest).

But unfortunately for you, how I rate teams and tactics in my votes is in the minority, so the Galacticos route wins out

Its similar in style to Heros. You have the enforcer in Denisov, the passer in Cabaye and the drive of Marchisio. It does lack the flair in the middle to unlock defences as well and it would be easy to spot that your really creativity will come from the wide players. That makes it easier to do tactics against.

With Sod's, I wouldn't know whether he is going to attack from wide or centrally.
