Good job putting that altogether wales606.
If I were adding in players I'd like to see in an AB shirt, that's not a bad shout.

Yea thanks for that very interesting to see the results.
I pretty much agree with that team but i'm not sure about Adam J as starting tight head though i'd have Franks in there instead, he adds so much more to a team.

Yea Adam Jones is probably the only question mark, especially with how good Franks is currently and how good Cole has been for the past few seasons (reliability is a real weakness of Jones).

Well Wales are 6Nations champions,
yet 3rd place Ireland have 4 times as many players in the 40, 3 times as many in the 22
and 4th placed France have more.
We have to at least have more starting players than Ireland .

True!
Or maybe we just play well as a collective team!

It was a bit tongue in cheek yappy!
But they should be proud. The fine folk of 606v2 have recognised their great players, and eternally etched them into the stone that is the 606v2 topic wall.

do the poll again but ban folk form voting for players form thier own country. Will change it up a bit
But then if most folk on here are NZ'ers then it scews that too.

Just a little Also, Adam Jones has three grand slams Lions tours and has pretty much beaten all of his opostion counterparts over the years and people are questioning his ability Although you have to agree with all the New Zealand players in that side. New Zealand are pretty much the benchmark for the rest of us when it comes to rugby union, and it will be al ong time before they are ousted as world no.1.

I thought V2s best team would have been the NZ 1-5, Irelands back-row, NZ 9-15.

I agree with that team except I would get rid of Whitelock and put in POC and Go for Pocock over Richie McCaw.

POC always struggle to live up to his reputation. He's a great club player, but internationally I've never seen him play a stand out game.

Yeah but you've also never seen Halfpenny put in a sound defensive display at fullback so presumably you don't actually watch NH teams. Or you're blind, in which case I am very sorry for your condition

I watch them. Relentlessly. However disappointing it inevitably is. I don't want to miss that day that is Wales'. By all accounts it will be spectacular and rivalled only by the birth of the universe itself.

Congratulations, to Kieren Read for making the 606 v 2 Worlds best players team.
Especially as it was only last week I read somewhere (not a million miles away) that he was overrated.

Only 2 I wouldn't have would be Jones & Woodcock who are living a little of reputation lately.

I'm actually surprised at the make up of the bench. Why name a reserve full back when you are playing Dagg and Jane and leave the midfield so exposed? I'd fit in a 9/10 option and name a genuine reserve center. So bring in Nonu and Weepu and drop out Kearney and Cruden.

I've also questioned POC on the "most over-rated" thread. So I have to take the issue with him on the bench. To me his loyalty is all for his club and he brings little to the international stage. I would replace him with Bekker or David Sharpe, or maybe get Brad Thorne out of his coffin for one more frankenstein appearance where I would start him in front of Richie Gray.

Can't argue with much of that team although I'd have Nonu ahead of Williams personally and if I was picking a true team Pocock wouldn't be on my bench I'd want a more versatile backrow proabably SOB

Carter covers 12, Cruden covers Carter (as happens with the All Blacks)
Therefore as the highest voted for back 3 player, Kearney covers the back 3.

Yes, and he takes kicks. Corey Jane can also play at full-back.
The back 3 is a strong area for NZ rugby; they have left out Guildford and Maitland who could both step up. Kahui and SBW also did well on the wing!

I don't know who David Sharpe is but that is just so wrong. You must not have watched rugby for long if it's your opinion. But POC was carrying a struggling Irish pack while he was injured himself in recent times. He has brought a lot to Munster and Ireland during 2003-10, when Ireland had some of their best days. Thorne is a once in a generation player, probably the finest rugby player NZ have poached (just pipping Lomu for that title). However he doesn't apply to this for the same reason Kaino doesn't.

Re: 606v2's World's Best Players
How can one dismiss POC, his work rate is top notch and he looks like a player who is constantley injured and despite this, he still is one of the best second rows in the world. Watch any Ireland match on you tube and you will realise you are wrong to dismiss POC.
