The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Oxford
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The Pub has made its way to Oxford and the only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Seve Ballesteros, Andy Fenby, Nick Williams,Tim Visser, Adam Ashley Cooper and Paul Lawrie up on the wall.

Injury for Nick Williams - he's coming off clutching his chest. Possibly a nasty rib injury. Hope it's not as bad as it looks.
WHAAAAY! What a take by Tommy! Leads to a super try for Marshall.

Planet Oz is it's usual chaotic self Cari, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
Sale have dominated for 40 minutes and go in 8-6 up. Agree with PJ, easy to see why they are bottom, they really lack any cutting edge. I can see Tiggers upping it second half and blowing them away. for PJ. The roof is fixed now mate, and thanks to your advice, it cost me £670 less than it might otherwise had done!

FT 25 - 0 Ulster not choosing the conversion at the end but attempting another try scoring opportunity. Kicked off the field by Connacht though much to the dismay of fans.

Less than 3 minutes into the second half and the Tiggers now in front by a point.

15 months he's been out. A player I've always enjoyed watching - great awareness of the space in front of him. + gas.
I remember Scarlets frightening the living shoite out of SF in Paris a few seasons back, and Stoddart was the main reason. They went down, but it was a good game.

Pleased your roof got sorted for the right price Pete, .
The chip into the dead ball at the end of the first half and that one there from inside their own 22 to "nowhere in particular" are endemic in Sale's game at the moment.
WTF? springs to mind.

Nick Williams is unstoppable. What a great rugby player too. Hope he's ok. Looks like ribs. Needs a few weeks off, if so, but he'd be a massive loss in the HC.
One things for sure, Bowe is back. Big time. Shame he's an Ug eh? Ah well, cant have everything.
All right Ozzy darlin? Hard day at the orafice Sir?

Make that 6 points and about to be 8, as they've scored a penalty and a try within the first 6 minutes of the half. Sale are as woeful as my lot, will be an interesting (terrible) match when we play them in November I reckon!

I'll wait for the Scarlet comments on the video ref decision that's robbed my darling Dragons of an LBP. Wonder if it'll warrant a mention? They're normally keen to comment on poor decisions otherwise
Delighted for Stoddart though.

Disappointed in the Dragons though. We were apparently not in the game in the first half and of course we've had the usual "we are going to do this" off a Dragons player (target the scrum). Annoying. I wish they would stop doing that.

Howya Gibbo
Been a pretty good day at the office today Gibbo. Been working on a series of burglaries for the past 3 weeks where a crew were coming down from the north and screwing us then fecking off back out of the county. We caught them on the plot one day and then recovered some property they had from another burglary. Initially when we recovered the property we weren't sure where it came from, so we had the victims from a couple of burglaries that we suspected them of come in to see if they could identify any of it. Some did and were reunited with their stuff, but I have been a little bit haunted by a lady who came in having lost thousands of pounds worth of jewellery and electrical items. Despite those losses she the only time she got emotional was when telling me about a jewellery box that had gone, which had underneath the cushion in it, her childrens name tags from the hospital when they were born, and each of thems first tooth that they lost.
When I interviewed the suspects they gave up nothing, but I charged them with two burglaries that I could evidence they had committed. They are remanded in custody and I have been working on the other burglaries in the series. Today, at just after two o'clock I located a bag, dumped by a lake near Windsor, and in it was property from 2 of the burglaries that I am investigating, including the above mentioned jewellery box, with the treasured items inside. I didn't recover the iPads, or some of the expensive jewellery, I suspect that is long gone, but the lady did not care, she has what she wanted back.
I won't lie, my job is tough sometimes and I get frustrated, and saddened by things that I see, but days like today make the shoite bits worthwhile.
Sorry for the rambly answer to the hard day question, I just sometimes feel like I want to redress to balance of the awful news stories we seem to be hearing on a weekly basis these days, and this today has made me smile.

Thought Sale were denied an eminently convertible try in the first half though Ozzy, 15-6 at HT would have been a different animal.
I'm not saying the score margin isn't valid, but the TMO had everything he needed to make that decision before half time, and the ball was clearly attacked and knocked loose by the Tigger, how he concluded lost forward I don't know.
I guess when you're down - you get booted.

That has never been any different through history PJ, when you're up, you get the rub of the green, and when you're down, it all goes against you. Relegation battle will be interesting this year, just glad we're not getting cut adrift with how bad we are playing.

You're way too cute at home to get drawn into the relegation battle, bud.
Sale, Wuss and Oxford to scrap it out, Oirish will be way ahead by the end of January.
Sale have bought in some good players, but none of the good players have bought in to Sale; someone needs to get into that squad and get feckin medieval on their collective ass.
Come to think of it, another week of going without fags, I'll do it for free.

In a perfect world we wouldn't need the police.
I contrast all the crepe going on with the fact that I am havibg beers with s Sikh, a Jew, two English and 3 people from different Irish counties.
And not a bad word said.

Evening all.
Good to get a game at Ravenhill under our belts although it was a bit scrappy alright.
I didn't understand why we went for the posts that time either.
I was standing right beside the players when they were all coming off the pitch after their lap of honour and Tommy Bowe had the biggest grin on his face you ever saw. I think he's happy to be home.
I don't want to discuss what has happened to Sparky.

Talking of role models, I want to share this story;
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/boxing/19847940
A man with the courage and the confidence to inspire others is a great thing, if it can make sport more inclusive.

Just so chuffed for Morgan. What a comeback to the sport after such an awful injury, and he got such an ovation from the crowd, not sure he expected anything like it bless him!

It is great that he is coming out and hopefully it will inspire others, but part of me can't help thinking that it is sad that we still live in a world where he feels the need to and that this is such a big thing. People are just people, whether they are black, white, brown or purple with pink spots, and whether they are hetero or homosexual.
I genuinely hate the fact that we still don't live in an inclusive society. Was it Ghandi who when asked what he thought of western civilisation answered that he thought it would be a good thing?
However many years on, and the stark reality is that very little has changed.
