Week 7 Discussion Thread
Shocker in San Francisco as the Seahawks vs the 49ers was a defensive battle.
Anyone else not a fan of thursday games, the home team has a ridic record in them iirc.

Might be time for Russell Wilson to hit the bench, they have a great defense and a p.good run game. Some servicable guys on the outside, its hardly Jacksonville's WR corps. Got to turn to Flynn I think.
2 completed passes in the 2nd half.

Re: Week 7 Discussion Thread
have to laugh at the abuse Alex Smith is getting, other than one bad overthrow, when else were the receivers getting open. Add to that two facemask penalties on third down that weren't called and , as the commentators mentioned, at least 3 defensive holding calls that went a miss. His pick was just a great defensive play from Seattle. Loved the fact we ground out the win with run and D, thats the way it should be. Lynch got his yards but happy that a rookie qb was actually made to look like one. Oh and Harbaugh defeats Carroll once again!

Re: Week 7 Discussion Thread
The problem remains, can he get it done when the defense and run game aren't controlling the game. Smith has had a nice career revival, but I don't think hes a Superbowl calibre QB.
People bring up Dilfer, the QBs to win a SB since 2000:
Eli x2
Rodgers
Big Ben x2
Peyton
Warner
Brady x3
Dilfer
Dilfer aside the rest were all franchise QBs, and Dilfer needed a historically great defense to do it.

Re: Week 7 Discussion Thread
I don't think he's an elite quarterback, but I do think he can be a Super Bowl one. He is a confidence player which is frustrating, sepecially at the quarterback position, but he does have a history of late of making big plays at the right time. I think last season he had 6 4th quarter comeback wins, where he threw quite a bit, not easy at all. Based on his last two games, he's not getting it done but based on the first few and then last season, he can. Look at how NYG killed us last week, they basically used the 49ers formula, Eli had under 150 yards I think and 1 td, they had around 150 rushing and played great D, and people say it is the best they have looked all season.

I would really like to see how the 49ers get on against an elite offence like the Patriots or Packers. I think that D can be torn apart by Rodgers/Brady and maybe Manning

Ravens aren't entirely impressed. He won't be 70% let alone 100%, and is more likely to get hurt than anything.

Suggs is pushing himself probably to try to make up for all the other losses they've suffered.

According to NFL Network the Ravens have known Suggs would play today for months.
Re: Week 7 Discussion Thread
apparently he is only going to play about a dozen snaps - though i'm sure that could increase if all goes well and the Ravens need him

I'm no doctor, but surely a torn achilles effects explosiveness more than anything? I know the Ravens have lost players, but surely they could have just held him out this week, let him recover through the bye next week then look at easing him in against the Browns and Raiders over the following two games

Re: Week 7 Discussion Thread
Well done CJ2K, everyone can slate him but he and A.D are the main reasons I went from being casual NFL fan to avid fan. Everyone can blame him but he is still one of the most exciting players in the league, his running style is unique and I know he will come good soon when the o-line turn it around. He is the reason the Titans are my second favourite team along with Vikings.
A.D showing no effects of his ankle injury for the Vikes, absolutely crushing Arizona's D. Based on this, can't wait til next monday when my 49ers play them, Gore and Hunter will have a field day, may as well activate LaMichael too!

There's a massive cheer in St Louis... because the Packers recovered a surprise onside kick!

Ravens are getting blown out in Houston so far. Joe Flacco being "elite" with 4 or 12 for 32 yards and an INT

Lets loose another record to the era of the pass

Pretty sure passing yards record is over 500 yards, nearing 600. As for the TD one, is it currently at 7?

I don't think he'll get 8 TD's but it wouldn't surprise me if he got close to that 554 by Van Broklin.
All depends on whether the Bucs offense can keep some sort of pace with the Saints

I'm even more impressed with Matt Kalil. Always obvious he was the pick in the draft but I was still excited when it happened, going to be in the Joe Thomas/Jake Long type discussion within a few years

Some big inactives for the Pats today.
Logan Mankins, Steve Gregory, Pat Chung, Brandon Bolden. Both starting safeties out, and Mankins is a big loss also

And by that I mean, if Sanchez can't pass against two rookie safeties, and our pass D, he might as well just give up

Just trying to catch up on tonight's games. What happened to to the Bucs? They were 14-0 earlier. What has happened to the Browns rush attack that was going to carry on where Shonn Greene left off?

Trent Richardson has been out of the game since the 2nd quarter I think.
I can't believe Joe Flacco has that many passes tipped today, he is 6'6 tall!

Adam Rank has been warning people off Eli all week. Has had one "good" fantasy game against the Redskins in his career, often fails to put up big yards or TDs and yes, last years pair were examples

I hate Dez Bryant and Jason Garrett. Going to cost me my bet for the week by dropping that catch in the end zone, and then settling for a FG instead of going for a TD. I hope they lose

Not sold on RG3 yet, Shanahans have done a tremendous job of putting together a scheme for him though.

Re: Week 7 Discussion Thread
Redskins ruined themselves there. But got to be impressed with RG3, anyone would have to say he is a star in the making, the scheme might be suited to his running abilities but he is as good in the pocket with time as he is freelancing.
Great for the Titans and Vikes, Johnson and Peterson were amazing. Question is, does Locker deserve to come straight back in next week over Matt, if so, he needs to learn how to improve his onfield relationship with CJ
