Shocker in San Francisco as the Seahawks vs the 49ers was a defensive battle.
Anyone else not a fan of thursday games, the home team has a ridic record in them iirc.

Utterly awful performance from the Pats today.
Seriously there are probably better secondaries in the lingerie league.
But 4-3, top of the division, it can only get better

As for the Raiders, Reggie Jackson has a job to do if they have to rally from a deep depicit to beat the MJD and Gabbert-less Jags

Re: Week 7 Discussion Thread
The fact that we managed to rally is soothing I suppose, but you are right - in the first half, we were dominated. Who'd have thought the Jags would miss Gabbert so badly? Henne completed nothing.
Carson Palmer deserves some credit for engineering some good drives again, but our running game is not clicking at all. If we can get it going, and support the pass then we have a chance of dragging something out of this season.
The defense is hot and cold. Sometimes it looks like it couldn't stop a team of shoeless midgets, but then sometimes it's picking Matt Ryan three times, and stuffing runs. I think we need another pass rusher in the next draft, I assume we'll be fairly high so we should get a good one.

Re: Week 7 Discussion Thread
Depth is part of the problem, but it's also key positions having no real stand out starter. Our front 7 is ok, with Burris looking impressive in Curry's stead, but the backfield is weak (Tyvon Branch aside).
Offensively we have all the tools to be explosive, but it's not happening, and I suppose it has to be on the coaching staff's head that that is the case. McFadden got 2.8 yards a carry last night, and fantasy owners everywhere are cursing the zone blocking scheme! We are being too conservative in some areas too, we have speedy wideouts but we only went deep a couple of times.

Problem was, McKenzie inherited a team that had given plenty of bloated contracts to vets that probably didn't warrant it and was pretty far over the salary cap as a result. Then you have to start cutting some guys you'd like to keep.

Haha! Very good! I must admit, I did enjoy your beating of the Giants! I'm just glad the Redskins have been able to live with them again over the last 3 games. We had developed a very nasty habit of losing heavily to them. Now, if we could just find a couple of decent safeties...

The NFC East has all kinds of weird streaks and such.
We've won like 8 of 9 vs the Giants, unbeaten in the New Meadowlands. Giants routinely destroyed the Redskins before last year.
In llike 2010 the Eagles swept the Giants, the Cowboys swept the Eagles and the Giants swept the Cowboys. And everybody swept Washington

The Redskins have been a bit of an embarrassment to the division for too long now. Our record against the Cowboys in particular had got so bad that even I had given up trying to defend it as being a relevant rivalry anymore. Hopefully behind Robert Griffin III we're on our way to becoming a serious proposition again amongst our divisional rivals! It's just a pity that his arrival has coincided with the partial collapse of our defense. We're still strong against the run but that secondary is dreadful!

Its interesting, the same thing happened with the Panthers a year ago.
They had a really good defense the year they went 1-15, then down the toilet once Cam took the spotlight.

DRC's allowed a QB rating of 28.7 when QBs throw at him apparently
#whoneedsdasamurai
Unfortunately Nnamdi seems to have gone down the toilet now hes played in soft zones with the worst safety in da lee next to him.

Shame there isn't a vintage defensive back class coming through, because it seems an area of need across the league.

Re: Week 7 Discussion Thread
I'd argue that the defensive back class thats coming through could be the deepest in years. I'll include some juniors here but almost certain they will declare. Jordan Poyer, Dee Milliner, Xavier Rodes, Johnthan Banks, Tharold Simon, Johnny Adams, Justin Gilbert, Broderick Brown, Rod Sweeting, Greg Reid, Nickell Roby etc. I'd say there are four first round cb's based on current form. Safeties aren't bad either, Eric Reid, Shawn Williams, Baccari Rambo, Robert lester could all be high picks, one of them could go top 25

This is encouraging to hear given that the Redskins don't have a 1st round pick the next couple of years. Sounds like we could have a shot at getting a decent DB in the 2nd round next year (possibly even the 3rd too????). If so, who would say are the likely candidates so I can start keeping an eye on them??
Personally, I love the sound of Baccari Rambo!!! How awesome a name is that???

Dee Milliner is the only guy that could go top ten imo, probably as high as 5 if he can keeps playing at the level he is

Out of that list, I'd say Rambo, Simon, Adams, lester, Williams will be second rounders and Robey, Brown, Gilbert and are in that 2nd/3rd range right now too. Then there are guys like Blidi Wreh-Wilson and Logan Ryan who will be second day picks. What type of corner do Washington usually go for?
Guys like Matt Ellam, Tony Jefferson, Kenny Vacarro and TJ Mcdonald are all potential first round talents most likely to drop to the second day too. Then there are my two favourite underrated safeties, Hakeem Smith (we're cool despite him forgetting about our interview) and LaMarcus Joyner. I'm also forgetting Isaiah Johnson, DJ Swearinger and Dexter McCoil, all 2nd/3rd round guys. Even Bud Noel could declare as redshirt sophomore and be a first rounder

Comparisons with the Panthers are not welcome! I'm trying to be all "glass half full" just now. Having it pointed out that you can draw lines between us and the Panthers does not help with this!

Re: Week 7 Discussion Thread
Bucs may or may not have been robbed, Freeman seems to be on the edge of the pocket and it's clear Williams was pushed out of bounds and he can reassert himself back in. It's pass interfernce at the very least. Frustrating for the game to be decided in such a fashion. Bucs lost that game in the second quarter Aqib Talib is not very good but better than a lot of what they have in the secondary. Short turnaround with the Vikes on Thursday night/morning.
Way too much Patriot talk on this thread, people love a bandwagon right..............
