@EyeOnNFL:
America can't agree on much, but I think we're good on the importance of blocking DeMarcus Ware.
Can't believe a team is willing to let Ware have a clean run at their QB, almost killed Ryan.

sodhat wrote:Doug Martin destroyed our defense last night. The whole basis of our success on D has been our ability to stop the run with Seymour and Kelly and some improving linebackers, but it got torn apart. Against the pass we were our usual, woeful selves, giving up big plays.
One thing is for sure - Palmer is not to blame for that loss. Yes, he threw 3 picks, but I only put the first one on him, and the rest were throws made trying to dig us out of the huge Doug Martin shaped hole we were in.
Reason to believe that Streater, Criner, Heyward-Bey, Moore, Myers, and Reece can keep us going on offense without McFadden at least. Not that DMC has been tearing it up anyway...
Agreed, it was unbelievable some of the criticism levelled at Palmer on the Raiders Facebook page last night. Defense was unacceptable in the 2nd half and this loss has to go on them. Bucs torn it up on the ground, but even on pass plays Huff was out of his depth and continuously targeted
As for the DMC injury other than an ankle sprain not much known about severity and recovery time. With him it I would be very surprised to even see him again this year as he'll likely make it worse dyuring his recovery.
Sodhat would you see him one of the guys being cut in the off season given his injury record? Surely his wages could be put to better use, especially seeing as Knapps running plays aren't exatly bringing the best out of him.

I was wondering that earlier Gazzy, if he cannot stay healthy then maybe we should look at trades or cutting him. He is only 24 though so theoretically he has miles in the tank. We need to tailor our game to his though, it isn't working.

Re: Week 9 discussion thread
Don't get me wrong the guy is brilliant. On form he can be unplayable
Given the choice I'd rather lose Knapp (which will probably happen as most Raiders want him out) as his plays have crippled McFaddens talent, but those injuries year after year do concern me. I didn't think it would happen this year as having Palmer in from the off meant we wouldn't be over reliant on him, but even with not has much work he's picked up an injury with a huge question mark over the possible return date

Jesus the Eagles just cannot block. 3 consecutive sacks against the Saints. My god that's bad, Vick has no hope at this rate

Re: Week 9 discussion thread
Had to laugh when the Eagles ran 3 consecutive pass plays (2 incompletions and a sack for -10 yards) from like the Saints 6 yard line when McCoy and Brown had been gashing the NO defense all game. You could pick plays out of a hat and do a better job than the Eagles playcallers.
That OL is tragic though with all the injuries.

Re: Week 9 discussion thread
I would pity any QB that has to play behind that OL. I believe the Saints had 3 sacks in a row at one point. It was scary bad.
The Eagles just are a mistake driven machine at the moment. I remember Trent Cole missed a clear run at Brees in the first quarter, it's like there players are just being like rookies

Its a shame, since the rest of our schedule is easy minus the Giants

If you won last night you would only have been a game behind the Giants amazingly. Big opportunity missed

I like that there was an Eagles fan with the sign "Fire Castillo again?"

Ironically Castillo would probably do a good job at his actual job qualification of being an offensive line coach for the Eagles at the moment
