Re: Week 11 Discussion Thread
Agree with you number-25, would be harsh in the extreme to bench Smith now. It's nice to know Kaepernick could be the starter as soon as next year, but surely Smith gets the chance to lead this team into the post-season again? If he fails, then we can start the controversy for real.
He is having a good season all told. 13 TDs, 5 ints, completing on 70% of his throws, and a rating of 104.

I don't think Alex Smith can lead the 49ers to a Super Bowl personally.

I think he can, he was probably unlucky that the special teams failed at the worst time last year.
I didn't think he could take on Brees in a shootout and win in the post season - but he did it.

I'm not too impressed by him shredding the Saints D tbh.
I think he showed his true colours in the Giants game this year. I don't think the 49ers would beat Green Bay either

Re: Week 11 Discussion Thread
Because his defense came up with like 5 turnovers. Smiths a good stopgap, but hes not the guy.

Re: Week 11 Discussion Thread
I don't think Smith needs to lead them to the Superbowl - the defence will do that. All Smith needs to do is make as few mistakes as possible, which he is doing at the moment.
The way the defence is playing at the moment, i'd back them to limit the Packers/Texans/Patriots to a score thats realistic for Smith to get.

Re: Week 11 Discussion Thread
I don't think the D is that amazing. The Rams did pretty well against it a week or tow back and the Giants just ran all over them. I think personally that the Packers/Patriots/Texans offences would put up 20+ points on them pretty easy.

Re: Week 11 Discussion Thread
Regarding the 49ers, I would stick with Alex Smith for now then make a decision in the close/ pre-season. The last thing any team needs is to start 'rocking the boat' by chopping and changing at QB.
On SNF the Packers vs the Giants looks a very good match up this weekend.
