2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 2
First topic message reminder :
The discussion(s) continue here guys.
Unbelievable win for the Canaries tonight which see's Man City top for the first time this season, will they hold on.
QPR - still without a win - look doomed and Aston Villa drop into the bottom 3.

I wouldn't write off Chelsea yet. Everyone has a bad patch every now and again, I think Benitez will pull them through eventually

Gareth Bale has been booked for diving. The fourth time this season. No need.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 2
Really good first half performance from Liverpool, hit the bar and the post and could easily be 4 or 5 up. Great header from Agger though, from roughly around the penalty spot.
Have seen the City penalty as well and it was a shocking decision, very little contact from a corner and had it been the other way round I doubt it would have been given.

Michu = best bargain of all time? (Taking into account inflation before a certain French guy gets drawn into the discussion). We might be saying this every week!!

I'd plump for Schmeichel as best bargain of all time, his value would only be 1.2m now still.

Arsene Wenger must be very close to being sacked now. Living off past achievements for sure at the moment

Despite everything, Tottenham have snuck through the back door to get into 4th place this week. Arsenal down to 10th, looking very bad for Wenger.

True. This league has dropped so far in quality it's unreal. It's comical at times.

Arsenal 10th, Liverpool 11th.
Liverpool clearly in a rebuilding phase with a new manager, yet are only a place behind Arsenal. It's pretty poor from Arsenal tbh

Big concern for us next week with Suarez missing is were the goals will come from. Rodgers should be brave and throw Yesil or Morgan in, both young lads who'll be hungry to prove they belong in the first team.

Think we need to play with pace against Hammers, so Yesil/Morgan with Sterling and Assaidi either side.

Just seen the Bale dive, pretty awful stuff from Bale. What is more worrying is that some people are actually claiming it was a foul.
Anyone know if the FA actually have any plans to review the current punishments for diving?

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 2
You can't just have derbies & Man Utd vs City or Chelsea every week! Norwich are playing well at the moment, vastly superior performances to that of Newcastle that's for sure. Should be an interesting game, going for a score draw.
The problem with Bale is his speed. The faintest touch actually sends you off balance and, as you can see, he goes down. There not blatant dives that are embarrasing, unlike Suarez has produced throughout his time at Liverpool. They even admitted on MOTD, Sidwell just clipped him and Agger in midweek did the same thing. Similar situation with Torres & Evans this season. The decisions are too hard to call and the speed in which they occur.
MNF prediction - Newcastle 2-1 Wigan......hopefully

God knows
We are two of the lowest scorers in the league I think! I reckon it'll be a draw, although if we win it will be huge for us as we will be 7 points clear of the bottom 3

Big win for us! Needlessly let them back in it before half time and that swung the game but we hung on well although I still dont know how Kilgallon missed.

i would, the fans have turned on rafa and its going to take some run to turn them around. as soon as they are struggling in any game rather than back them the fans will turn on them. not a easy situation to play under. also wont be long untill he loses the dressing room at this rate, chelsea's players are known for it, although drogba has gone who used to be a big player in this. certainly dropping the likes of mata isnt going to help

The fans turning on Rafa would imply they were ever with him.
Chelsea fans can moan about Roman all they like but at the end if the day that they have league and European trophies recently is entirely because of him.

The Chelsea fans have never turned on a player in my 16 year memory. Just look at Torres. They want him to do well, could've turned on him so easily. The same was for Shevchenko too. If Chelsea fans were so quick to turn against the team why weren't there boos this time last year, and under Scolari. The players thrive under pressure. They've had to do it for the last 5 years since Jose left.
(I've felt more and more disillusioned with the club over the last 18 months since Ancelotti was sacked. I've even started referring to Chelsea as "they" instead of "we" or "us").
Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 2
the chelsea fans may not have turned on a player!!
but they have certainly turned on a manager..
not blaming them- i am sure the boos are more towards the owner .
drogba clearly should have had another season

Wigan have 4 CB's out in Caldwell, Figueroa, Ramis and Alcaraz!

Did Wigan to win on my coupon yesterday, didn't know about injuries.
Think this could be qpr's first win of the season.
But let's hope not.
Fancy us to get a narrow win at home to stoke today.

On the Norwich front I'm quietly confident we could pick up a point to day but wouldn't be surprised to see our unbeaten run come to an end at Swansea today.
A little someone who might be worth having a flutter on to score anytime is Danny Graham today. Back in the Swansea squad and has scored 6 goals in 4 matches against Norwich...

Should be a good game between the winter invincibles Swanse and Norwich.

Norwich City FC @NorwichCityFC
#NCFC XI to play @SwansOfficial - Bunn; R. Martin, Whittaker, Bassong, Garrido; Johnson, Howson, Pilkington, Snodgrass, Hoolahan; Holt (c).
Norwich City FC @NorwichCityFC
#NCFC subs - Rudd, Jackson, Fox, Morison, E. Bennett, Barnett, Tierney
No Tettey must be injured
Much more attacking line up tho, should be a fun game!
