All sorted for sunday
We have made a new higher cash offer for Cockayne and also Amor from Wakefield , with Wakey now willing to sell so both could happen . Benny has told them he wants to come back and Wakey need to save at least £200,000 on their wage bill so Amor can go aswell

Be good to see Cockayne back, and if anything his signing should indicate to the club to STOP LOOKING AT AUSSIE OFF HALFS, aswwith him,Welham,Gleeson, Hodgson as our 3 quarters, Hall at Full back, & Eden & Burns as our halves that is a frightening back division that has it all. Pace, power tryscoring ability, deceptivness. What more could you want.
If we get Amor (the Leeds fan at my work raves about him). Then the pack is stronger with some great ballhandling skills.
Ryan O'Hara will leave the club at the end of the season, joining Lezignan in the French league. Good luck to him, and hope he gets better luck with injuries.
Also not overly disappointed about Beaumont leaving, he's not a bad player, just prefer to keep Cox.

Re: The Hull Kingston Rovers Thread
Rovers are believed to have offered Wakefield a choice of Omari Caro, Evarn Tuimavave, Rhys Lovegrove and Craig Hallin (who I really hope is a player I've not heard of, and not who I suspect it is), and some cash to get Cockayne.
Don't understand why Lovegrove & Hall are on that list.
Corey Paterson has signed a 1 year deal to play with West Tigers next season after leaving Rovers.
I didn't realise that we Had let Danny Nicklas go (thought he was supposed to be doing well at the club), anyways he's now signed for Gloucestershire all holds (making it his 5th club this season.
After the disappointment of working the derby have just been to Headingley to get tickets for Rovers game there a week on Friday 07.08.201307.08.2013:yahoo:

I have been really ill since wednesday morning might miss the derby
Just popped on quickly to say i was talking to a high up person from the dark half at bbq over the weekend and he was very confident that they have a deal in place to bring Dobson back over here in 2015 , told him i would report him to the RFL for an illegal approach

From what i have been told the bids for Cockayne and Amor are purely cash bids ( no players involved ) of £30,000 each . Does make you wonder when the paper can't get the names right .

Have also heard that, though not against offering some of our squad players, just don't think Lovegrove or Hall should be anywhere near that.Kenny wrote:From what i have been told the bids for Cockayne and Amor are purely cash bids ( no players involved ) of £30,000 each . Bit optimistic that Dobson won't do well in the NRL wasn't he? Though in truth I always sort of suspected something like this would happen given that it's only a 1 year deal, but who knows could be fantastic for Newcastle.
Hope you feel better soon (ie tomorrow) Kenny. But from now on don't talk to FC officals if you feel this badly afterwards.

Re: The Hull Kingston Rovers Thread
So yesterday's derby defeat, although quite a few 50/50 calls went against us, I thought that Hull were quicker, out muscled Rovers, were more clinical and deserved there win. Considering Rovers injuries, thought Rovers played okay, but Hull were always in control especially after there 3 quick tries just after by.
Greg Eden will miss the rest of the season after injuring his knee during yesterday's defeat.
Lincoln Withers is returning to Australia after not getting a contract for next year.
It is believed that Rovers are offering Craig Hall, Omari Caro, Rhys Lovegrove & Evarn Tuimavave for transfers despite being under contract. Really don't get why Hall or Lovegrove, who are good players with utility value are being offered. Especially given how many players are already leaving, don't Rovers understand this constant overhauling of playing staff is wrong, Keep your good players (Hall &Lovegrove defiantly), change a few as possible otherwise, it's why Leeds & Warrington are winning trophies and ourselves and others trying to get into the 8.
Also, while I like Hudgall, and believe he has a passion for RL, his interview in a local paper on Saturday is just plain wrong, with no thought to the survival of the game, or anything else, he comes across just as a money grabber (which I don't believe he is) with tunnelled vision.

Re: The Hull Kingston Rovers Thread
Back home from Headingley after watching the lads tremendous win against Leeds.
If I'm honest, thought it was an average game, with only 2 bits of quality (Rovers2nd try which was the best handling move of the night, and Leeds 2nd try which was inventive). But Rovers defence was outstanding, solid and stood up to everything Leeds threw at them (28 tackles on our line is testament to that). Rovers deserved the in, Leeds were poor time and time again, Rovers did enough and like I said defence outstanding to deserve it. Thought Green was very good when on,Gleeson defended brilliantly given that he was doing 2 men's jobs (Caro while he came up with some good plays was our week link), Salter was also defensively brilliant as were all the lads really. A very solid team performance.
Hopefully Bradford lose on Sunday and that's the play off place sowen up.

Leigh are reportedly intrested in Alex Brown who's contract ends this year, I personally would keep him. Yes he needs work on parts of his game, but he's done alright for Rovers when called upon, and would be very good back up to call upon.

I would keep Brown , i'd also keep Caro but loan him out to a championship side to get some game time and experience a season playing week in week out would do him the world of good .

Worse than yesterday's deserved defeat to Widnes is the news that Travis Burn has broken his arm and will play no futher part this season. And Michael Dobson is to have a scan on a foot injury. With Eden already out our creative play will beñ at a minimum know.
Rovers have announced 3 new board members. Antony Langley has joined as financial director, Linton Brown as director of commercial affairs and Malcolm Scott as development director of support.
Intresting to read Rangi Chase's and Weller Hauraki views of new Rovers signing Kris Keating. Chase says he more of a support player who's nit much of a ball player, and Rovers will have to change there style for him. Hauraki says good quality player who does his job well.

Just back from Craven park after the lose to London. No complaints about the result, started really well, but once they got going London were dominant, Soward was absolute class.
Good to see Welham back, and the youngsters did okay, but really a nothing game for Rovers so good game to give them a run out.

Craig Sandercock will wait as late as one hour before kick off before naming his side for saturdays elimination playoff game against St Helens to give injured players Mickey Paea Cory Paterson Sean Gleeson and Greame Horne the most time possible to prove their fitness .
Michael Dobson, Dave Hodgson, Josh Hodgson, Con Mika, Adam Walker and Liam Salter will all return after being rested for the 34-22 defeat to London last weekend.

Rovers are believed to be after Salford's Lee Jewitt after falling to land Amor.
Just a thought, but personally Rovers should have tried for Theo Fages from Salford instead of Keating. After all he young, very good, plus you would think is not going to get alot of game time with Smith & Chase now at Salford.

I am pleased with the Jamie Langley signing , Benny Cockayne still trying to sort out personal terms with us aswell
our pack actually looks stronger for next season now ...........possibly being
Weyman Hodgson Walker
Costigan Lovegrove
Langley
Keating and Burns should be able to build behind that

Add Tuimavave, Cox, Green etc and I agree, we have a decent pack and given the backs we've got should be stronger next season, and we need to be given other sides strengthening.
Think Langley a okay signing, intresting that it's mainly a year contract, he's what we need a ball handling LF with experience.
INS
Jamie Langley (Bradford),
Kris Keating (Canterbury),
Michael Weyman (St George),
Neville Costigan (Newcastle).
Really don't think we need to add many more, 1 maybe 2.

Rovers have handed youngsters Josh Guzdek & Connor Robinson 2 year deals. With Salter, Hodgson also getting new deals good to see that we are signing our youngsters up as they are the future of the club, and when called upon have not let the club down.
Also good to see Sandercock developing and use them, if due to injuries or whatever, Morgan wouldn't have.

Re: The Hull Kingston Rovers Thread
Hull KR are lining up five more new signings this winter, three of whom will be playing in the World Cup.
Bradford stalwart Jamie Langley and overseas trio Kris Keating, Michael Weyman and Neville Costigan have already been signed.
They are replacements for Mickey Paea, Cory Paterson, Michael Dobson and Richard Beaumont, who have all left.
A transfer fee has been agreed with Wakefield for winger Ben Cockayne and Hull KR chairman confirmed further new blood will be on its way.
"We've announced four players up to now and have signed another two who are due to be announced shortly," Hull KR chairman Neil Hudgell said.
"On the back of that there are two World Cup players that we've agreed terms with and there is one more in the pipeline.
"That means another five new faces coming in and whether we bring any more in beyond that will depend on if we're able to negotiate some movement on a couple of contracted players within the club.
"The emphasis is on quality, not just in terms of ability, but in terms of enhancing the group and building a culture within the club."
One of the new signings could be Adam Walkers brother Jonathon from Castleford as it seems he wants to play in the same team

Don't think we need to sign that many, Walker and Cockayne to be confirmed.
More glad that Adam Walker (who I owe an apology to, seeing as I didn't rate when we signed him. Was I wrong), Salter, Hodgson, Carlisle etc have extended there contracts with the club.

Re: The Hull Kingston Rovers Thread
We now that Tuimavave, Lovegrove, Caro & Hall (who Sandercock just dosn't seem to rate), have been offered to other clubs. When we sign Ben, there's just no position to play Craig, and with youngsters as back up not sure he'd get any game time. Lovegrove's in thr same position, Caro can go, and given the players we signed/signing quite a few are forwards not surprised about Tuimavave.
My 2 worry's are that a we get rid of more. B we sign players that stop the youngsters getting game time if required (Slater, Guzdek, Cox Green etc), they're good enough, and Iit could hurt there development.
Which is why I don't think we need 5 more players, a couple at most. The sides likely to look like
Eden
Cockayne-Welham-Gleeson-Hodgson
Burns-Keating
Weyman-Hodgson-Walker
Costagin-Cox
Langley
And with Brown, Salter, Green, Carlisle etc waiting to get in, thats a good enough side.

Re: The Hull Kingston Rovers Thread
So as expected Jonathan Walker joins his brother at Rovers, on a 3 year deal.
Don't know about you Kenny, but I feel we are signing to many forwards, and are almost becoming top heavy.
IN
Jonathan Walker (Castleford),
Jamie Langley (Bradford),
Neville Costigan (Newcastle),
Michael Weyman (St George),
Kris Keating (Canterbury).
Also feel as I've said before, the fact we keep make so many changes dosn't help and that why Leeds/Warrington are generally successful because they have the same squad.

Re: The Hull Kingston Rovers Thread
Think it will depend on if some players leave , i think we will go with a big pack to try and give Keating more time to make plays so he settles quicker as he will be under a lot of pressure from fans and critics alike trying to replace Dobbo ( Dobbo is so well loved it is going to be hard for him so if a big pack can lay some foundations and he can blend with Burns then i will go with Sandercocks thinking )
I have heard that one of the players talked to is the Sheffield Eagles PNG winger Yere as Brown could be going to Wakey

Re: The Hull Kingston Rovers Thread
The 2 wc players that Rovers are being linked with, are believed to be a PNG player (could well be Yere), and Catalans Kevin Larroyer.
Alex Brown could be one of the players to leave Rovers, with several championship sides after him.
Just a side note, ex Rovers full back (who I rated), Louis Sheriff has returned from Australia and has signed for Dewsbury next season.

tiger i don't know about you but everything i read or here from talking to players they all seem to genuinely like playing for Sandercock and are impressed with his training methods and visions for the club ?
This also comes across from the new players coming in that they want to play for Sandercock , that for me is a really good sign i just hope it shows when they get on the pitch next season .

Re: The Hull Kingston Rovers Thread
Alex Brown has left the club and signed for Leigh. Great signing for the Leigh club, and slightly disappointing as he didn't do alot wrong with Rovers (defence needed some work), and I personally believe he would have been a great back up guy for Rovers.
OUTS
Michael Dobson (Newcastle),
Corey Paterson (Wests),
Mickey Paea (Hull FC),
Richard Beaumont (St Helens),
Lincoln Withers (Australia),
Ryan O Hara (Lezpigan),
Alex Brown (Leigh).

Good signing for Leigh , i have been told he wanted more game time and wasn't wanting a season as just a back up player so can't blame him for leaving ........but then can't blame Rovers for letting him go if he isn't going to be first choice

Re: The Hull Kingston Rovers Thread
Jason Netherton has signed a new one-year deal and been given a testimonial by Rovers for ten years service .
I don't have a problem with this as he is not on a big contract at all for the season and it's good the club sort of saying thank you for all you have done for us ( Jason does a lot of off field club work )

Neither do I. Hope he gets decent recognition for his 10 years, always gives 100% when called upon (though I don't think that will be much this season), and is a solid versatile back up.

Hull Daily Mail
reporting that Rhys Lovegrove has been told he can leave if he can find a new club even though he still ahs 2 years remaining on his contract .
also that Rovers two world cup signings are both PNG players one prop one outside back

Re: The Hull Kingston Rovers Thread
Are we still after Larroyer as well Kenny?
Don't know anything about the PNG players, but we can only hope they are as good as the last 2 PNG players we signed:D And to be honest I'll be glad when Ben signs, just so it's over and done with as I feel it's dragged on for to long now.
That Lovegrove thing must be something internal or personal, as in the 6 years he's been here, he's proved versatile, solid, good and always gives a 100% whenever called upon. Which is pretty much what you want from a player.
