Can you please point out who said weeing in public is worse than stamping on someones ankle?
I would say multiple charges of being drunk and disorderly, peeing on the street, sexual assault accusations and driving bans due to drink driving is proof enough that Care is a fairly unsavory character.

Youre a hypocrit in that case as you have never met Cian Healy and you branded him a thug. Bravo!! Do you ever have anything intellegent to contribute?
I havent said anything about Care that hasnt been reported in the media and isnt common knowledge apart from my assumption that he is an unsavoury character. However, its a fair assumption based on his record.

PSW, he won't see reason or have anything said against St Cian of Leinster, the blinkers are truly on. Because Englishmen have had the audacity to question if his actions are excusable (in his opinion they are) and has also questioned the actions of the citing committee subsequently, he seems intent on turning it into a Ireland versus England rant. IMO, time to give up and move on.

I've bumped into Care a few times at Guildford station, he seems a nice bloke and hasn't to my mind ever done anything to warrant being called a thug, infact if you utube it there's a video clip of him being a very good sportsman.

The point I was making was that if you feel the need to haphazardly brand people like Healy a thug for one incident then it stands to reason that someone like Danny Care with a greater rap sheet should be considered a thug too.
Maybe he is a nice guy but believe it or not so is Healy.

why are you bringing up stuff off the rugby pitch dude.
We should only care about behaviour on the pitch yo!
Healy was a thug during the game.. I am hoping he will have learnt from the behaviour and not do it again..
Care doesnt need all this abuse tbh. he didnt cause anyone any issues in that game!

What difference does it make whether its on field or off field behaviour.
What abuse?
Cian Healy has received hate mail since his appeal was successful. All I did was point out all the incidents Care has been involved in and equate it to Healy's indiscretions.
For the record and I repeat myself Im sure he is a lovely guy but there is a certain amount of hiprocacy if you feel the need to brand Healy a thug but put your own players with dicipline issues on a pedestal.

I only care about the on field stuff.. Thats the only thing that matters in my mind.
If you dont think he was a thug during the game then can you explain how you came to that conclusion?

No sh*t sherlock. We all know this and Care has taklen action to remedy it by going teetotal.
On December 2011 he was arrested for being drunk and disorderly and subsequently arrested for drunk driving - two arrests but really one incident. dumb and stupid - but enough to label him a thug?
Then in March of 2012 he was seen having a pee against a wall after a function in Leeds. He was seen by a policeman who areested him and by a woman who later claimed that seeing his willy was sexual assualt (flasher and all that). He was given a warning over peeing in a public case and the sexual assault allegation was thrown out. Two arrests, one actual incident, zero convictions. Was this thuggish behaviour?
He had a problem with alcohol (as many rugby players have had) was punished by the law and by Lancaster.
We get that you are unhappy that a minority of posters called Healy a thug - he is not, but he did do a "bad" thing. You choosing to behave like those muppets does not help your cause one iota.

Nobody is saying he didnt do a bad thing. I dont have any cause but to demonstrate how the character assisination of Healy is as unjust as the hate mail he is receiving. I choose to demonstrate this by pointing out that nobody is perfect. We all put our own team on a pedestal.

Misti, its not like I have speculated about anything that hasnt been proved to be true. Im not calling Care a sexual devient. I already acknowledged that he was acquitted of that.
I will be clearly slated for this once again but I fully expect and acknowledge as part of the game some of what you call "thuggish" behaviour and am guily of it many times when I played rugby as are most people I have played with.
I would rather have a reputation for bad behaviour on the field than off it though. In any case the biggest risks to player welfare are not the occasional scuffle and stamp.
A 7 year injury audit in Twickenham has revealed that a much bigger concern is the overwhelming evidence that as the game evolves there is an ever increacing focus on winning the colision and hence an increase in high impact injuries. Two areas contribute to this more than any other. Tackles without arms and clearing out at the ruck.

Re: Cian Healy - cited
Through the magic of twitter, we know what Healy reckons (or at least what he wants the great unwashed masses like myself to know).
Not sure about the protocol of pasting tweets so I'll paraphrase.
He made a mistake.
He got an incorrect punishment.
He eventually missed the correct number of games.
S""t happens.
So, in his mind, a one match ban is the correct sanction, and two matches/4 weeks was incorrect. In essence, the punishment is fairly irrelevant, except for setting an example for others - more important is whether he has learned a lesson and taken responsibility for his actions.

The punishment is not just for the offender though. It's meant to act as a deterrant to other potential offenders (as well as safeguarding other players).

Thats not exactly what he said. This is what he said:
“I think in all fairness to the process, we went in with our hands up and said, ‘yeah, that shouldn’t have occurred’. They’ve (the appeal committee) come out with their hands up and said it should have been the first three weeks. So I think that shows a good process and a fairness, a sporting fairness.”
He didnt mention anything about the correct amount of games. So essentially you have no clue whether or not he thinks a "one game ban" is correct or not.
It's irrelevant anyway as bans are given in weeks. All he siad is that the comittee acknowledged that they couldnt start the ban from the second week, which they cant based on assumptions.

You're right, it's not exactly what he said but it is the essence of what he tweeted - it's quite easy to find.
I think "eventually missed the correct amount of games" is quite a good clue, don't you?

Ireland has had plenty of thugs.
01 Peter Clohessy (stamped on players head)
02 Jerry Flannery (stamped on players head)
03 John Hayes (stamped on players head)
04
05 Paul O'Connell (punched a player)
06 Trevor Brennan (punched a fan)
07 Alan Quinlan (eye gouger)
08 Jamie Heaslip (kneed a player in the head)
Rugby is a gentlemans game played by thugs.
Whats big deal (except Dylan Hartley and Callum Clark: I don't like them )

Hartley i'd put with that list Stag, he seems to just lose the plot at times. Clark is a special case as his incicent looked far more premeditated and thought out.

The worst thing about Healy is he seems to be a very keen tweeter.
That makes him a twonk in my opinion (types bloke on internet forum).
