2013 version 2.0 Wales vs England bickering thread.
First topic message reminder :
Carry on your bickering here.
I was going to summarise the previous thread, but going through a thousand posts and ultimately it ends on goats, sheep on your 18th brithday that hangs around longer than strippers doesn't say much for the rest of the content.
Enjoy.

England are far the better side, but we shouldn't be complacent as we all know that if Wales beat England they will consider their year a huge success. It's their very own little cup final and you can be sure they will put in an enormous effort to beat us to negate the misery of their inevitable slide further down the rankings.

Nonetheless, there appears to be amarked difference between the top four and the next ones down. There is a definate gap in terms of ability it would seem. What would it take to move Wales above England in terms of IRB points out of interest?

England can only lose points against Italy (too far ahead to gain) so could drop to 82.30 if Italy win by +15.
Wales could rise to 82.31 if the beat Scotland by +15.
Thus if these two events happen Wales would be ahead of England

Re: 2013 version 2.0 Wales vs England bickering thread.
a miracle.
I don't think Wales have ever got above 84 points even in their GS years. Does that mean that this England side is better than Wales have ever been (or at least since rankings began) in relation to their peers???
The way it goes I think it would be impossible for any 6N side to get above that figure unless they regularly beat 3N sides... or at least not lose.
ENG received near 2 points due to their win vs. NZ which has boosted them up significantly.

Their rankings have indeed never achieved the level England are currently at. This is mainly becuase their form has veered from the sublime to the ridiculous.
England's however has moved from OK to meh.
Thus the welsh form is like an unmedicated manic depressive with amazing highs and dreadfull lows. I guess this is why the welsh fan so often moves from hysteria to melancholia in the blink of an eye.
England's form is like someone on temazapam. All just a bit grey.

Considering Wales have beaten England on the last two occassions without conceding a try, another win in the final round will be deemed 'business as usual.' So do get over yourselves arrogant England fans (this post is to the arrogant England fans only).

200 tries in the 6N as opposed to 130..............I'll take the tremazapam all day long.
When were these Welsh highs? The Green Man festival in the Brecon Beacons was the only high I've ever witnessed in Wales.

I think the England Wales game is going to be very interesting.
England started slowly, but then gathered momentum and Wales started poorly and also gathered momentum..
Who will win might be down to home advantage.

Re: 2013 version 2.0 Wales vs England bickering thread.
A lot depends on the next round.
If England blows Italy away (very possible given their record at Twickenham) I think the attempt could be near impossible for Wales to achieve and it would dampen their morale.
Thats even if they beat us at Murrayfield.
A big win for England vs. Italy I think will put enough wind in their sails to take them past Wales. If they are fully fit and full of confidence I doubt Wales can stop them.
Nervy win vs. Italy on the other hand could put the control in Wales' corner.

Is Wales even a country? Should they even be allowed to compete in test internationals?

Well after all, South Wales is just a series of conurbations on the M4. thus an extension of the Thames Valley, thus really just an extension of London.
North Wales - an extension of Merseyside.
Leaving us with West Wales - the genuine one true region

We already did for France, but due to language issues you do not see much French bickering on here.
Visser is a Dutchman playing for Scotland so you could root for Scotland when they meet Wales next.
And England have Barritt - so you could root for England come the 16th.

Thats why they played poorly in the first fixture (or not at all in Lydiates case), in order to give England a head start. See they are nice boys really.

And Samoa? Or is that expunged from the record books?
Honestly anyone banging on about Wales great RWC11 - when they only beat one half decent team (Ireland) is as daft as.... well anyone who bangs on about England almost winning RWC07 where again there was only one decent win (v Aus) and a semi win over a French team that could not handle the pressure (and as NZ fans will tell us only made the semi due to Wayne Barnes).
