Knowing us we'll probably miss it
I think it'll be a draw tomorrow personally. For me Saints are a good attacking side, but dodgy at the back, 1-1 on the cards I think. Draw is a good result for us, Saints must win imo with there upcoming fixtures.
If we win, that should see us safe hopefully. God I hope we get 3 points tomorrow

Whatever happens tomorrow you'll still, eventually, wind up safe Olly. And then we start all again in August.
What you looking for next season? Survival again or mid table safety early on?
It's tough for a team like Nodge but Swansea have shown that miracles can happen. It's not beyond the realms...

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 4
I think next season I wanna see maybe a more attacking style, a bit more endevour especially away from home.
This season is all about survival and Hughton has made us a defensively sound side. However next season I feel as if we need to add more goals to the team, to try and push towards mid table. I'd like another year of consolidation next year, would also like it if we could have a cup run. You have no idea how much I yearn to see us play at Wembley.
Main thing is we'll be debt free next season. Hopefully we can stay that way for a long time

I see us hopefully becoming sort of like West Brom are now a year or two down the line.
As long as McNally is here we'll be fine. Man may cost a million a year but by god is he worth it

You need to be in the opposition's box to get a penalty
If you combined your defence with Southampton's attack you'd have a decent team.

Haha indeed TSJ! Looking forward to seeing Adam Lallana again today. Always remember him destroying us in League 1, quality player.
I also hope to see Jos Hooiveld for differing reasons

It's Villa v QPR next weekend. If the Hoops fail to win today and Villa hold on then a villa win next week will be the mightiest of nails in QPR's coffin. Massive 45 minutes ahead here.
This relegation scrap is fascinating this season for some reason.

Because everything else is sewn up? Two big weekends though for all the teams at the bottom. From Wigan's point of view it's a shame today's game wasn't a league game.

Massive goal for QPR that. Not just for their Premier League status, but also their possible future as a football club.

Agree Chris. Whilst I have my views on how they have gone about things I do kind of hope they make a fist of it. Only for my boys to relegate them on the last day!

Completely forgot about it Juan. I've got two whiteboards with "bets to do" written on them and I've just noticed it now. Cruel reminder! A pen being awarded is around 3/1.
That's the first decent tip Olly has given me as well! Wasn't meant to be

Reading's fixtures are horrendous. Away at United then away at Arsenal in the next two and theyve still got City and Liverpool to play after that.
Think I may go with Reading, Villa and Wigan, but thats only from my BBC predictor with 3 points from bottom to 15th and it only takes a bad or good performance to shift momentum, plus youve got the whole end of season thing where midtable teams wind down. Very tight

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 4
I'm not sure I agree with all the Harry Houdini talk and Lineker labelling Harry as a potential manager of the year candidate if they stay up. It was not hard to go in there with a bit of man management skill and turn that ship around. That squad should be nowhere near the bottom 3 and with the amount of money thrown Harry's way, it's no surprise QPR are hunting down the team's above them. I'd like to see what McDermott or Pochettino could do with £20m & the opportunity to offer players nearly £100k a week.
Nothing special from Harry for me, I think he'll do it but only just. Reading are gone for me along with Wigan and Southampton. Villa have quality in the final third with Benteke and I'm sure Bent will want to show he's not finished at Villa.

Told you we would get a pen and miss it! Must say I didnt think it was a pen. Inside the box but Holt has gone down far too easy. Clattenburg given it purely to make himself centre of attention again imo. So unlike Holt to miss, he's usually on the money from the spot.
On the actual game we were pants. How Southampton havent won that I'll never know. They adapted to the conditions, we didnt. Pilkington went off injured as well
Another point closer to safety anyways.
QPR are still going down

I said it at the start of the season, if QPR click they're much better than any of the teams around them. Fair play to Harry, he brought in a few with bottle rather than just interested in cash

If QPR do stay up I can see them hanging around the top division for a good while if they continue to spend as they have been doing. They won't start as badly as they did this season anyway. If they stay up...

Massive win for us today.
QPR next saturday will be a tough game.
Get the win and we are on the right road to safety.
Saints are very much back in it, Sunderland and Newcastle to.
After QPR we have Liverpool home, Stoke away and Fulham home, before a trip to Old Trafford.
There are points we can get there, utd aside.
Think we can get something against Liverpool.
Well you have to be confident.

Just seen this on twitter.
Grant Holt is the footballing equivalent of choosing an English builder, then insisting he did a good job to vindicate yourself.

You see that stuff falling from the sky? Called rain.
You know what happens when rain falls on grass, followed by football players running and sliding all over it? It cuts up.
Lesson for you there Nick
