Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 4
I think Warnock has summed it up the best:
"You are shaken after feeling such an injustice when a man 50-yards away gives a decision for a penalty that no Arsenal player appeals for.
"You have a busy linesman over there. I get in trouble so much about referees but now I can say what I want.
"That penalty that started this would not have been given at the other end of the pitch."

1st goal - Not a corner in the first place. The pen, I think it probably is, but the referee doesn't give it from 5 yards away, yet the lino 30 yards away looking through 10 sets of bodies can. #headsgone.
2nd goal - Giroud pulls Bassong over, the exact same as happened for the penalty, lino doesn't give it.
3rd goal - Walcott is offside.
Gutted

It looked like a foul by Gibbs, but they didn't show any replays on the completely legal stream I was watching. Will have to see it later

You just have to look at there 2nd goal for an example of it Duty.
Giroud commits exactly the same foul on Bassong, as Kamara did on him for the penalty. Nothing from the lino.
Says how bad the ref was when Warnock is sympathising with Norwich

If the final CL place goes down to goal difference then that's Spurs done for.

Norwich were robbed.
Defeat for QPR and only a point for Reading all but confirms relegation.

Hmm, watching the Norwich game. Regardless of how they reached that decision, a pen is probably fair

Just watching the Arsenal highlights and the first two goals have some glaring errors from the officials in them.
The Norwich player trips himself up for their freekick, I doubt Gibbs made any contact. The penalty decision is made by the linesman who is looking through a crowd of players, the referee who is looking straight at the incident doesn't give anything until prompted by the assistants flag.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 4
MOTD time
Shouldn't of been a free kick for Norwich none the less great header from Micheal Turner.
Shouldn't of been a corner for the Arsenal penalty, and the penalty was harsh.
The 2nd Arsenal goal was great work by Chamberlain and a tidy finish by the striker. He wanted it more than Bassong, 100% not a foul
The 3rd Arsenal goal was a lovely finish, however Walcott was offside in the build up.
None the less huge win for Arsenal, can see them playing Champions League football next season. Norwich will be fine, can see them beating Reading next week which will confirm survival.

Deflection goals are always harsh however Everton all over QPR 100% deserve to be leading.
2nd Everton goal was poor defending by QPR and that's why they are where they are!

Big miss early on by Benteke
Lovely finish by Charlie NNNNNNNNNNNNN Zogbia. Sloppy defending by Fulham though.
Villa goal was just stupid.
Delph with a huge huge miss at the end.

What a lucky little **** sums up Southampton's lucky season! Took it well though.
Andy Carroll with another goal! #GoalMachine they need to try and sign him up full time.
Both sides though if they can add a few more players, can do even better next season i think

They may well snap him up Nickis, but Liverpool want £17 million.
Never going to happen as he is worth about £2 million based on his scoring record over the past couple of seasons.

Now, now lets not get silly here. He'd fetch at least 10m. A fit Andy Carroll is an asset to most teams. Dont believe everything you read.

I'd pay £15m for him (we've already paid £2m). Quality player, decent age too. 50/50 between us and the toon I think

I think most fans of Liverpool would take him back as well.
For a striker considered to be a major flop, he seems to be rated surprisingly highly by the fans.

Carroll when fit is very hard to handle. Needs to have a good run of games without injury now

Right that is a dreadful decision by Howard Webb there. Danny Graham is clearly fouled and yet no penalty given. However why didn't Webb book him for diving then. Another comedy referring decision this weekend.

What a finish by Sessangon. Loved the celebration by Di Canio so good to see a manager with a lot of passion.
Great save by Mingelot after to deny Cisse. Going to be a great game me thinks.

2 stats courtesy of the BBC and OPTA:
"The home team has never come from behind to win in a Tyne-Wear derby."
"Four of the last six league meetings between Newcastle and Sunderland have ended 1-1."
So we all agreed on 1-1 then?
