Can Ireland beat Italy?
First topic message reminder :
Italy are well overdue beating Ireland and I can see them pushing very hard for a second 6N victory. As an irishman I'll be watching this game very nervously in what may be O driscolls and kidneys last game...

Parisse in the bin for tripping, good call again by Barnes who's had a pretty good game so far. Chance for Ireland to get back into it...

Is a trip not supposed to be a red?

Re: Can Ireland beat Italy?
Now that O'Shea has pointed it out, why is Jackson standing so deep? I don't get the tactics behind it. Muff, it is clearly tactical and shifting Madigan will make no difference.

Re: Can Ireland beat Italy?
bit harsh as there was a trip in the first half by an irish player that only resulted in a penalty.

Why? It's not going to make a difference unless the tactics change.
Cause there is no control from Jackson he is totally out of his depth! Madigan will have us playing some rugby

Good kick Wee Paddy!
16-9 at 53 minutes. Ireland really need to take advantage of Parisse's rest...

How strong is Ian Henderson! Knocked parisse back off line and made two massive hits last play!

Re: Can Ireland beat Italy?
more good work from Italy down the blindside, spoilt by a knock-on. Ireland could do with actually playing some rugby at some point...

Maybe because our backrow are being mullered at the breakdown, our carriers can't break the gainline and the Italian defence is a mile offside at every ruck...... if I was Jackson I'd be standing behind Kearney ....

Well I must compliment Parisse on his consideration for his Irish friends. It was so generous of him to get binned so they could have some points.
16-12 at 57 minutes. Great kick WP!

I think Italy have dragged Ireland back into this by giving away dumb penalties. Nothing to do with anything Ireland are doing.

Madigan taking the ball at pace rather than stationary. It's revolutionary.

at last Ireland play some rugby, and probably should have scored but decent last-ditch defense by Italy. Ireland with the penalty though...

Should have been a yellow, don't know how he got away with that.
Huge difference with Jackson standing much flatter, quick ball and Madigan attacking at pace on the angle.
