The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Walkabout, Covent Garden
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The pub has made its way to the original Walkabout pub in London's Covent Garden, as it is set to close its doors at the end of the month.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Mark Ella or recent birthday boys Gibson and Glas a du above the bar.

Is there a biography Glas? Sounds a guaranteed interesting read if there is.

Still snowing. Considering how long it's been coming down there isn't actually that much settled. Wind may have summat to do with that. All roads east are shut now though.

Would prefer snow to this driving rain and wind from the east. Did think I'd be taking a plastic bag with me put to the fields this morning, but the twins we had on the weekend look full enough even if very miserable.

Just rain here, too.
Wow, the BBC really think we care that they're moving from one building to another, don't they? Another article about it now, showing clips of old programmes. The public remember the programmes but I doubt they have particular fondness for the building where they were filmed.

I did wonder what the weather was like your way Glas. Different perspective when you've got animals to consider.
Getting worse here now. I shall be a lot happier once Sharpey's home from work. He's already 30 minutes later than normal but guess that's only to be expected.

Started snowing about 2 this morning. Easily a foot outside my residence as I type. And... It's still coming coming down... And when I say coming down I am talking blizzard conditions. Not due the stop at any point all day. Journey into work should be fun! Did we drift into the arctic circle and nobody's noticed?

No snow here - yet. I am about to set off for Stirling to get my hair cut. Is my new motor car going to get it's first bad weather test or will I get there and back before it blows in this way?

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Walkabout, Covent Garden
We have a fair bit of snow here so far with the forecast saying it will snow heavily and continuously till Saturday afternoon when it will become light but continuous.
Having problems with our phone line too.
All the kids off school but it is quite a blizzard out there so not looking like we will get out to make a snowman.

In short,
NO!
It is forecast to continue for 24 hours at this intensity and then ease off.
Mind you, I may be seeing the worst of it judging by the Beeb report.

It actually isn't too cold but the wind chill is nasty and the temp is due to drop from about lunchtime so all the slushy stuff will freeze.
When do you need to make the call on travelling?
Is MrsR planning to travel too? Getting stuck would be a bit of a bad idea for her just now.

Morning all
And to think I booked a flight to Belfast last night.
The snow will have melted by May right?
(HEC final weekend I'm flying into Belfast and hitching a ride down with Rava)

Well it will probably have trouble getting anywhere near us with all this snow!
Sure it's bound to hit a diversion or a fallen tree somewhere!

The way you say that, is the exact same tone of mildly hassled inconvenience people have been using about the snow coming over the weekend.
"Snow? In March? Feic sake..."
"An asteroid? The end of life on earth? Humph."

I'm good. It's Friday and a four day week next week! Oh and the O's are playing tonight, although I can't see it being much of a game due to schitty weather. It' just rained all day...

Very nice it is too. My mate didn't like ordering it though.
