The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
This is the first Pub of 606v2's second year, here's hoping for another good one.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the pictures of Augustin Pichot, David Campese, Mal O'Kelly and Jim Williams above the bar!

okay I've just been catching up with the Welsh team news, are we seriously, seriously considering playing the first two games with Hook at 10, and our only back up is Henson?!
If so, I think I want to

Do I? Not heard any mention of it so far Cymro. Surely he'd have been called up by now, especially as Shings has been called up already and that's just as precautionary cover for Lydiate, who hasn't actually been ruled out yet.

Neither has Priestland been ruled out the only one ruled out is Jenks

I thought Priest was 'likely' to miss the first game, same as Lydiate?
ah well, the team will be what it'll be. As long as our defence stays as strong as it has been since the summer, we should be okay.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Yes RD they said likely but my understanding is he could just as likely be playing.
I honestly cant see Henson being used at 10 when we have a specialist 10 waiting in the wings, it wouldn't surprise me if SJ was called up in the next day or so.

I shall await with baited breath then!
Although if Stevo does get called up, tough tough times for the Scarlets what with our injury list and player call ups. We'll be down to the bare bones!
Nothing like a challenge though
Fooood time for me now, have lovely evenings all

Cut the woman some slack Asbo. After all, she has just celebrated a significant birthday, and sure you can have haggis sandwiches, or whatever it was, any day of the week

I'll be merry and free,
I'll be sad for naebody;
Naebody cares for me,
I care for naebody.

Rav,
It is a song. We'll practice and sing it to him. Poor lad. The biggest night in the Scottish Calandar and nae haggis or even a wee dram prepared by his bonnie wee English lass to celebrate the Baird.
Its enough to drive a Scot to drink.

Well, Himself is getting sirloin steak and chips, salad and a nice bottle of Malbec - when he finally gets home!
He thinks na on the lang Scots miles,
The mosses, waters, slaps and stiles
That lie between and his hame,
Where sits his sulky sullen dame,
Gathering her brows, like gathering storm,
Nursing her wrath to keep it warm
(nearly) Tam o'Shanter

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
The EU gets a lot of stick. Some of it justified, but this ruling shows how important they are as a powerful body.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/news/9038589/Digital-right-to-be-forgotten-will-be-made-EU-law.html
Now, for GOOGLE & GMAIL. What they are attempting to do, is to read the content - yes the content, of all your mails to target you for advertising. This is scandalous and seems to be accepted by the vast majority, who have no idea what they can do with their information. Good and bad.
If I say in an email, in its content, to a private email recipient, that I am flying to the US for business or pleasure, I can expect to get lots of sales schiit targetting my trip to a specific City destination. They say that this improves your choices and gives you more help in making those choices. PHHHOK right off! I can make my own choices. STOP reading my emails.
This, is like opening someones private letters, reading them and taking out info they can sell on. Its... beyond belief. Even now.
GMAIL/GOOGLE, are banking on this User innocence/ignorance - to thrive. They are omnipresent in media now and getting stronger. TV, EMAIL, Youtube, GMAIL+ (stay away from it!) They even ask for your email password linked across their Services to Facebook. This, breaks every rule Ive ever learned in Network Security.
Im out Ted. Going to use another Email provider. One that ensures my privacy - by Law. Not flout it flagrantly.
Rant over. Carry on.

Stag,
I use UPC/Chello for home and may use it as my prime email provider now - as I already pay for it. I think I will look at others though. Do a wee write-up on it. I'll pass that info on.
The one with the best name over here is XS4ALL.NL. They have fought hard for freedom of speech and strict privacy for their customers. Have been taken to court for it, fought hard moral battles - and won, numerous times. I dont know why I ever left them.
BTW, I can understand all the above for Businesses. It could be of great service to them. But, not for Joe Gibson-Bloggs or Joe Stag-Bloggs.
It is opening our private letters. Its exactly the same thing.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
They are closing in on that Cymro. Fast. UPC just managed to stave it off in Ireland. Telecom Eireann(Eircom) have already folded on this. The owners of these sites (online sports-streaming, porn music, etal) are being hunted down and will be proscecuted. So could the downloaders - they say. How can they proscecute a Billion users? Wont happen.
TG I have over 10,000 of my fav ablums sorted already. And and a few 100 of my fav movies. I obviously - did this legally. Well, cheap anyway.
I probably best stop this crusade on here. Firewalls have virtual ears.
Just think about it, read about it and dont get pished off later, if you find out you have been shaagged online.

Your man for this is the Hound Of Harrow. He knows every decent Pub, its beers, its ambience, its food, its sports coverage - in England, Wales, Scotland and probably on his travels - France, Italy & Dubai. Unreal.
He is the Pub Oracle. Trust his choices.
