Out with the old, in with the new at Edinburgh
First topic message reminder :
Former Wasps & QPR boss appointed MD
Davies seems to have a good CV with experience in rugby. Also has experience in "building" stadiums.
It'll be interesting to hear Wasps/QPR fans view of him.

Chunks married. Even if the mask uncovers some strange and deeply confusing feelings, FES hasnt got a chance.

OK, who's going tomorrow? If anyone needs a 2 for one on my season ticket pm me. No mates, or realistically all off for the Mayday weekend.

I'm taking my dad as his birthday treat - I'm not a season ticket holder (thank God) so had to pay the full whack!

We're awfy sentimental - we've watched Edinburgh be crap and lose all season so might as well see it through to the end!

Fes' wife had a great time sitting in the rain! Still, we won, so she's now my lucky mascot and coming to games next season. She's delighted....

That was some rain tonight. Soaked!!
Given how gutted talei looked at the final whistle, I don't think he really wants to leave. Or he just realised how poor the dragons actually are.

Re: Out with the old, in with the new at Edinburgh
Geez-o we made a meal out of that. after half an hour I was thinking it couldve been a scorleine like Glasgows, but then we just went to sleep. We showed more intensity than ive seen all season, and got great rewards for it, before taking our foot off the gas. Concerned about the 3 soft, soft tries that would have a defensive coach tearing their hair out (if we had one). Can anyone tell me how the scrum that they scored the first one off didnt get reset for wheeling 180?
Talei is amazing and frustrating in equal measure. Great carries, but a bit of tunnel vision at times.

Really really can't believe he is going to the Dragons. Such a waste for a player of his standard - he should be in a regular HK team that is competing for titles (not that Edinburgh will be doing that!.

Ibd, the scrum should have been reset, I agree. It was such a soft 7 points.
Some good performances tonight though. I thought nel was busy, and gilchrist was solid. Young watson was more prominent as well. Laidlaw was influential, and leonard did some good things. Edinburgh motm though was talei. Excellent carrying once more. We are going to miss him badly next season if denton can't find form.

Did Richie McIver get a game tonight, and if so did he look like he's got potential at pro level?

Hope Matt Scott's injury wasn't too bad - had a big ice pack strapped to his wrist.

Didn't get on - suspect because the game was too close due to our failings!
Didn't look as big close up as he did in the pictures in the papers, but a pre-season of conditioning will sort that - he's got a big frame on him.

Don't think mciver got on. Shame, he probably would have got on had we not made such a royal mess on that second half.

Was just having a look at the leading try scorers for the season. I know Vissers had poor form recently, but to still finish highest try scorer in the league while playing for us, and not scoring in 2013 shows how good he was last year. I hope he rediscovers his form over the summer.

Watching Scotland's first 7s game - Lee Jones is one of Scotland's best players!

Re: Out with the old, in with the new at Edinburgh
I see that Kieran Murphy has just been released by the Scarlets.
I bet you all of the IOUs in my pocket that Edinburgh will move for him to replace Talei. He's SQ now as he was born in Aberdeen.
Wouldn't be the worst move ever - he's mid 20s with a lot of potential.

If he's any good why would he be released. If he's mid-20s with lots of potential you might as well go for 'the specimen' from Dundee High!

Re: Out with the old, in with the new at Edinburgh
There was a guy on here earlier saying that the Scarlets weren't a team in decline. Well surely he will realise now that they are, with another 2 players released including one of their best players this season Kieran Murphy.
Also their average attendence is down by over 1200 this season. Strange decision by Barclay to leave Glasgow.

Has Kieran Murphy been playing well? Don't really know him to comment. I assumed he was let go because they didn't think he was good enough to keep...

Re: Out with the old, in with the new at Edinburgh
Just posted this question on the Welsh thread - he's played 25 times for the Scarlets apparently and whenever he's realised to his club side, he tends to win MoM performances.
So he can't be too shabby - question remains as always whether we're better getting young guys like Mitch Eadie in there instead who can learn from Denton how to stand in the midfield, flicking his hair and looking like he's trying to pass an unpleasantly jagged stool.

Re: Out with the old, in with the new at Edinburgh
Heathcoat revealed in the Scotsman this morning that he's signed a 2 year deal with Bath and has ruled out a move to Edinburgh - shame!
Says he's going to fight it out with Ford at Bath - fair play to him, let's just hope it's a fair fight and Ford isn't picked because of daddy.
