A load of nonsense in my view.
How on earth is it nonsense?
Guard of honors should always happen IMO and it shows a great deal of respect, which has been earn't by the Champions. Man United have been a class above everyone in the league this season and should rightfully be clapped onto the pitch by all of the spectators in attendance and by fellow professionals Arsenal.
Well I wouldn't hold your breath on that one Nick. Respect in football? Give me a break.

It's a good deed. Hate the fact that we have to give RvP that honour, but fair play. Yanited won the league and should get the honour.

However the independent panel appointed by the FA to decide on Suarez's case said that it considered his latest indiscretion in isolation.
For all those saying that the decision was based on past bans and incidents. The panel themselves say they viewed it in isolation. So a bite is worse than racism according to this panel.
Just sayin'

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread Part 5
I actually think that in a perverse kinda way Arsene Wenger will take a degree of self satisfaction that a player that he helped develop has been (in many people's view) the major difference between United and the chasing pack.
I'd also guess that if it was City or Chelsea that had romped to the league that Wenger would have cringed at the idea of his players clapping on those teams, given his view on both clubs and their transfer policies.
Just out of interest did Utd arrange a guard of honour for the Arsenal invincibles before the 2004 Community Shield? I can't honestly remember.

They stated clearly they based it on 2 other episodes of violent conduct this season.
It is a disciplinary panel not a court of law, punishment does not reflect perceived severity of crime.

Im still gonna take from that sentence that they took it in isolation. The FA have come out months ago and said sanctions will be stricter, they reviewed policies after the Suarez incident and have pretty much let feelers out to say "Dont judge this alongside past punishments".

Well given racism is just a bit of name calling then yes, I would say it is worse.
I think a dangerous tackle is also worse than what Suarez has done.

Im gonna stick to the football rather than debating whether racism is worse than a bite. I do think biting is in league with spitting, its not gonna hurt you (most likely) but its the behaviour of it. Theres no margin for mistake in biting, a bad tackle can come from reasonable intent

I'm a little surprised people think Everton won't beat Fulham at home. If they don't I'll eat my hat (I don't actually own a hat)

Booooo!
Wigan are still out of the relegation zone on goal difference though. That last game between Villa and Wigan looking more and more crucial now.

A point here for Wigan, would still be a massive point given the opposition.

Result is also important at the top of the table, as it means top four could be slipping away from Tottenham.

Wasn't too long ago we were all taking about Stoke's possible demise from the top flight. Now 2 consecutive victories, with 2 consecutive clean sheets, and they've hit the 40 point mark which should be enough.

Spurs are definitely chocking. Again.
Great point for Wigan. As a neutral I'd love to see it go right down to that last game in a winner takes all.

Weirdly, neither Perch or Tiote are picking up Coutinho. I've noticed Gerrard limping a bit, so he might actually get taken off today, but he's hit a few really nice passes despite this.

We've been shocking all season, embarrassing really. Pardew under immense pressure now, why is gutierrezstill playing in this league. Without Ben arfa we have nothing. Even if cisse gets a chance hell blow it like a thousand others this season.

Pretty pointless statement stating WBA are safe, they were never involved in any kind of relegation fight.
Perch has just missed a sitter, woeful. We should of sold Tiote last year when he was the talk of the EPL in that holding role, would of commanded £15m.....would not pay a fiver for him now.

The Tiote, Perch partnership in midfield is not working. Surely Newcastle have to make a half time change? Perch or Tiote off, Ben Arfa on, move Cabaye deeper, Ben Arfa onto right and Sissoko through the middle.

Newcastle vs Arsenal last day of season with Arsenal going for Top 4 and us battling relegation, so should be on Sky.
Yes I would make that change, partnership is too negative and no creativity. I am worried because we look shambolic at the moment and we will get totally destroyed physically at West Ham because away from home we are pushovers. Pardew needs one hell of a team talk

The strange thing from the side Pardew has selected, is it looks quite defensive and designed to stop Liverpool, but none of the players are really doing that job. Tiote is throwing himself around, but I can see him getting sent off if he's not careful.

Lovely by Coutinho. Considering the main worry for Coutinho was his lack of strength, he has shown that he's willing to get bashed about.
