Frank Lampard really is a legend.
However that goal has screwed a lot of sides over.

That goal will take Chelsea into the CL next season.
And Arsenal win and Spurs draw or loss will seal it for them as well.

Bit of a shame next Sunday, nothing will need to be decided. So every game will be pointless.
So ill imagine a lot of people will be Wigan fans on Tuesday night.

So Villa fail to secure survival but anything less than 2 Wigan wins will keep them up.

I wouldn't say its been a bad season. Just you will never get a better season than last season.

Well if you're going to become your clubs record goalscorer, no better way to do it than that! Champions League Qualification secured.

Its close GSC, maybe Scholes' longevity sneaks it... But Lamps has been the man in the final third

Scholes has more to his game than Lampard for me. Both superb players though.

Sinking ship my arse. We were 2nd, 4 points behind City when he took over.

I can't compare Scholes and Lampard because they're different types of players. Lampard is the "Iniesta" who gets forward and scores the goals but Scholes is the "Xavi" who sits back and dictates the game. If the England managers had been able to use Scholes, Gerrard and Lampard together then that would have been one heck of a midfield (when everyone was at their peak).

If he leaves with his held high, hes leaving with a lot more dignity and class than I'd be showing the fans and board personally.

We were on the verge of going out, not out. If Juve could have beaten Shakhtar at home we'd have gone through. He took over in November and we had one of our best ever Xmas periods. He failed to get us passed Swansea in the League Cup and dropped us from 2nd to 3rd.
I'll give him credit for whatever role he played in Sturridge out and Ba in, and the fact he's got us to Europa League final with no one but Torres up top.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread Part 6
Semantics really, Rafa would've needed a miracle to survice in the CL.
Still, good luck to whoever gets to replace Mourinho in 3-4 years when he falls out with everyone again.

If I was a Chelsea fan this probably wouldn't bother me. They're hiring and firing policy seems to work regarding trophies.

You'd figure sooner or later running their club like a massive joke will come back to bite them in the ass.
Though to be fair, it hasnt yet.

It's not being run like a joke. We are successful on the pitch and in the last financial year made a profit for the first time since the 70s.
Say what you want about Roman and his ways but the club is being run far more better than it was when we were crap and in the old Second Division.
Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread Part 6
True about Lamps and Scholes though. They occupy the same space, but do use it differently. One of my favorite Lampard perfomances was last years Champions league Semi final. dispossesing Messi and setting Ramires on his way in one fell swoop, it was a remarkably inteligent play which needed "360 degree" vision. I hope he does stay at Chelsea, if Mourinho does come back he just might.

Hope he chokes on his fifth celebratory dinner later on. He'd make the top 10 but hes not the best. Happy hes got the damn record though, the media guffathon can end.

Play nice Chris
Reminds me of a Hammers fan I met in Milton Keynes a few years ago. One mention of Frank and his eyeballs fell into his drink.

So Milner can stake his claim with a first half hat-trick?

James Milner can win the award for most outrageously boring use of talent in football history. Hes a good player, but he plays like hes a bullied kid.

I think you're two players short of the top 4: a competent LB and a good striker are all that's missing IMO.
