About time they went down.
Just hope we go to the DW and hammer the final nail in their relagation coffin.
Now we need to regroup for next season.
Dont want anymore of this lower table rubbish.

Ramsey goal: 5-1-11, vs. Manchester United. Next day: Osama bin Laden killed.
Ramsey goal: 10-2-11, vs. Tottenham. Three days later: Steve Jobs died.
Ramsey goal: 10-19-11, vs. Marseille. Next day: Gaddafi killed.
Ramsey goal: 2-11-12, vs. Sunderland. That night: Whitney Houston died.
What a curse! Mugabe? Assad? Blair? Bush?

Thank god for that. Good riddance to Wigan, a team that offer nothing to the premier league other than urine poor crowds making as little noise as possible.
In particular Whelan and the horrible Scouse runt Mcmanaman.

Plenty of empty seats for the Arsenal players to applaud at the end of the game there.

Mcmanaman will be a future england star
Wigan have been in the prem 8 years and won the fa cup, arsenal have been in the prem for last 8 years and won nothing

Whilst Wigan are a small club they offer good football and some good memories.
More than a lot of the clubs offer anyway.

And maybe all this bluster can stop about Martinez. His team are in an annual relegation scrap yet he is lauded as some sort of genius. He'll hopefully find his level in the championship.

Attacking wise possibly but defensively they are disgraceful.

I don't think they'll come back any time soon as they're lack of strength in depth will cost them in the end, plus playing in the Championship won't mask the fact that they can't defend.

Parachute payment, some investment from Whelan, sell kone/mcmanaman/mcarther. Could be a good amount to build a defence
Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread Part 6
Interesting point but if they sell those players then they lose their attack. I think they're in a horrible position at the moment. Ok, the EL will bring in a bit of money but the squad is tiny and I wonder if their league performances will suffer greatly.

I reckon theyll be fine, probably more in birminghams situation than any one else's. Jordi Gomez could look good in the championship

Think Kone, McCarthy, Maloney maybe McArther will leave.
Possibly Al Habsi.
I expect Wigan to be a mid table championship team for a while now.

I think QPR are in massive trouble unless they do some real work in the summer clearing players on ridiculous salaries out but with Arry in charge their fans should be worried.
I agree westy, they might not struggle near the bottom but I don't see them coming up in the near future.

I mean Martinez is working at a club that was never going to haul itself up the table. Much better than Pardew, Redknapp, Adkins etc

Wigan will linger in the way that Middlesbrough and Derby linger now.

Mid table championship teams have the possibility to reach the playoffs, such a tight league
QPR could do a wolves

He took them down. And they have been in numerous scraps when he is in charge. It's laughable.

Tbf, Pulis has been to an FA cup final (against a City team who actually cared) and has actually kept Stoke up.

Small club with poor attendances, loses his best players every year, gets bargain bin replacements, plays good football, gets good wins etc
It is easy to see why he is rated highly.
You just don't like Wigan because of mcmanamans tackle.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread Part 6
I think Wigan will do a Blackpool and just remain in the Championship and become an established Championship which is ok given the size of there football club. They didn't disgrace themselves tonight, just Arsenal had that extra class. Theo Walcott was superb. However i can still see Tottenham getting 4th. (I hope)
Martinez should 100% leave Wigan, he is too good for them. He should take the Everton job.
Be intresting to see who leaves Wigan next season. But i can't see them getting promoted, or even making the play offs next season for that matter.

I think Pulis and Stoke should part ways amicably before it gets sour. He's taken them a heck of a long way but can they go further under him? I really don't think so.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread Part 6
I think Pardew earnt himself a little more time with his efforts last season.
Pulis had promised a development in the style of play this year, but as soon as it begun to go slightly wrong, they've just reverted back to type. I think the Stoke fans are simply fed up (and why wouldn't you be tbf), and as TSJ says a split could be for the best

Been thinking about the question Wigan fans have been asked, about whether they'd swap the cup win for survival.
I personally would take a cup win, over survival in the league. Obviously both would be cool, but ultimately you don't get remembered for finishing 15th every year, and I imagine nothing beats the day out at Wembley, especially if you win.
Just a shame Norwich lose to non league sides in the cup really

Yeah, I imagine Pompy fans would pick the same Olly.
1 day is nice, but not dropping into oblivion is nicer. Forest were almost there 12 months ago.

Sides who win a cup and get relegated in the near future are hardly rampant.
Birmingham are now in midtable Championship oblivion.

He is indeed. And they're broke.
The feel good stories like Norwich and Southampton escaping oblivion are all well and good, but for most clubs topping off like Derby and Middlesborough is best case scenario.
