Yeah says one rag. Whereas another says 45k and another says 50k.
What's Wayne Rooney on? My boss told me today it was 220k a week? He read it on Twitter..

It was 50k in the PL, they didn't write in a relegation clause and since then its gone up.
Even the lowest figure is staggering for a Championship player mind you.

Wigan. We're only going to stay up so long, they are a championship club in every way (structurally etc).
They'll remember the cup forever.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread Part 6
I answered the Wigan or our own season question on a West Ham forum a few minutes ago funnily enough and said...
Without the context of how up and down we have been and the fear of being a proper yo-yo club with huge debts then I'd take theirs, but the context is too important for the future. Hard pick though, it took me two years to watch that Gerrard goal again after Cardiff.
It is really a tough call. It might help that I had the glory of being at Wembley and Vaz Te scoring that goal, I've had that brief glory. In isolation id rather theirs, in the broader picture Id rather ours. I think.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread Part 6
This would be some good fun
if Chelsea were to draw with Everton at Stamford Bridge on the final day and Arsene Wenger's side beat Newcastle by one goal and also conceding at least one, so 2-1, 3-2, 4-3, then they will be all square.
With third place in the Premier League qualifying for the group stages of the Champions League rather than having to go through a qualifier, it means finishing third is a big advantage.
Sportsmail understands that the Premier League are preparing for the possibility of a play-off, should it come to that.
I can't see Chelsea not winning but it would be a good watch should scrap it and go on Alphabetical order

Calm down
All joking a side, maybe this explains why he under performed for QPR. Interesting to hear what old Harry has to say about this.

Not saying he's guilty but these footballers can pretty much pick any girl in a club to sleep with so why put yourself in this situation?

@NickisBHAFC - Loic Remy underperformed at QPR? I think you will find he was their top goalscorer in the EPL this season after coming half way through the season. He also suffered an injury during his spell at QPR where he missed a number of games.
@Hulking_up - He's been arrested on suspicion hasn't he? He probably didn't put himself in this situation at all and the story is completely made up which would not be surprising.
If he does end up being found guilty though, if, then that will definitely see him not coming to Newcastle this summer as what has been reported.

The story goes that he invited her over and when she arrived his cousin and pals appeared in the flat. She then had a drink and passed out. I don't really get it. One, how do you easily find a group of people who are all into r***. Two, as its planned you'd expect Remy to think "this will come out as I'm famous" and three surely he could get an escort who'll just do that Poopie.
I hope it's not true cos its r*** so no one wants it happening. he's been linked with us too. However, he can rot if he did it.

What is it with footballers? Are they just plain stupid or does money corrupt them? If he's innocent, then no big deal. Carry on but expect some chanting in the future matches. If he's guilty, lock him up and throw away the key.

Dave Whelan was sounding like a bit of a Mr Winklechops on Sky Sports news an hour or so ago. Describing Everton as a small club and Martinez deserves better than them.

Or 15 seconds in the spotlight. I saw, on the front cover of a trashy magazine, in big, bold letter, "I tried to sleep with Ashley Cole in a nightclub". Seriously?

Yes Nick, but you have to remember that Dave Whelan broke his leg in a FA cup final 53 years ago, that ended his career.

They interviewed him on sky sports news last night before the arsenal game. He had stayed in Wigan and held the fa cup the whole interview. He then said he hoped the team got something from game with Chelsea.
I'm happy to be rid of him. His card was marked after the Tevez fuss. Annoying attention seeking Tinkywinky.

I was thinking this last week then i read this today...
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night to watch Wigan winger Callum McManaman and midfielder James McCarthy, both 22.
So how much we reckon? £25m for the pair?

I'd take McCarthy over McManaman, I think McCarthy would have been a much better option than Joe Allen to be honest. Right now, I wouldn't take any though.

Lampard signs new one year deal....
Presumably that means we will go through it all again next year? Hopefully he retires.

What he lacked in certain areas he more than made up for in passion and commitment. Was my favourite England player because of that passion and I've not really been that interested in England since he stopped carrying them! His trophy list, club history and international record is great I would say. Not bad for a very good player.

I think he made the utmost of what he had which was a good amount of talent. There were more talented players than him about but I think Beckham put in 100% and got out 100%. I think he seems like a great bloke and loves his country (representing them on and off the field) and is a great ambassador for Britain, not just football or sport in general. However, I think he's only as famous as he is because he married another massive celebrity (at the time at least!!) and they're just another "Brangelina". Still, I wish him all the best.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread Part 6
England football legend for me. His performance against Greece was the best I have ever seen in an England shirt. He was everwhere that day and looked like the only bloke out there who wanted to win that game before we even get to that free kick. Not as talented as a lot of players and didn't reach the levels that they did at club level but his passion and desire at international level makes him a footballing legend in his own right, even without all the paparrazzi that came with him.

Beckham was never the most richly talented of players, but his efforts were huge and carried him onto the top table of the world game. That was the key - effort and passion. Always 100%. Could land a ball on a ten pence piece from 50 yards. Will be missed.

It would be nice to see him go out with a goal. If he's on the field and PSG get a penalty I wonder if he'll get it?
