And if City can get rid of Dzeko as part of their deal for Cavani then they'll be chuffed

A guy with 11 goals the last 2 seasons.

A lot of strikers would be worth 15m if we judged by their best form

Every club hes played for would be very keen to have him at the club. Thats a sign of how good the lad is. Considering we could have him for 5 years and he'd still have a couple years at his peak remaining, plus the English player 'tax' and England international 'tax' that gets added to value cos of both these things and I say thats a pretty good deal.

He got 7 for us in a disturbed season, starting off behind from pre-season and it showing. His fitness levels playing for Newcastle were always very good and he does so much more than just score too. Hes top top quality and any long spell with us would leave him as a definite club legend

Also on Carroll joining West Ham. Superb signing for them and 15 million is a decent fair price, so all should be happy IMO. Liverpool fans might suggest they could of got another 5 million or so out of him.

But his move will be good for his own career and for England, where he belongs in the team IMO.

I'd say Liverpool are fairly keen to get rid if they're taking a 20m hit 30 months later on a 24 year old.

And he solidified himself as a Geordie legend after about 18 months of being a big part of the first team.

Don't get me wrong, Carrolls a good player on form, but he struggles to a.get fit and b. then find form.

He doesn't help himself by drinking a lot as well, (fair play to him btw!) but naturally it won't make you fit. Agreed as well GSC when he isn't in form he really does look a rubbish player.

But like most people, i hope he can have a really good season for West Ham!

Ive not seen him have a bad game for us, its a work ethic thing though, when hes not looking like scoring hes still pounding the hard yards and being a nuisance to defend against. He'll be a very good signing.

Liverpool as a team maybe, but I think their fans would like him at the club. I do get your point, im not being argumentative as such, but when I look at fees in this league and fees for England internationals I think its a pretty good deal. I certainly think hes better than a team in 10th, so that marks a massive improvement in quality for our standards. I wouldnt be too bothered by him if I was one of the top three but outside of that hes worthy of every team in the league. Im chuffed anyway! Very Happy Just hope he signs!

If (and it's a fairly big if) he can stay fit for the majority of next season, I'd bet on him to get 10-15 goals easy next season. Which for any team outside the Top 8 is bloody decent return.

Sullivan has told the papers we are after Lukaku on loan too. That man does not stop being mental! Laugh

Its hard to not see this being a big summer for so many clubs. Arsenal really really do look finally set to make some serious moves. There will be changes at Man United, Chelsea new manager and always money, Spurs proving to Bale they are ambitious, City new manager and needing something else. Every other team fearing relegation and with some extra money in the coffers. And so many managers who have still only been at their for a few major transfer windows

Fairly interesting article on how your manager fared this season in the eyes of Mr McNulty.

Somehow he manages to shift the blame for QPR's relegation solely onto Mark Hughes, despite Redknapp only have the poultry sum of 25 games to turn it around

It will be a fantastic move for Carroll, he's really improved in the last 12 months so hopefully his development can continue with regular first-team football at West Ham.

I think Carroll is a cracking signing for £15m. He brings a lot more to the game than just goals too. I'd be pretty happy if we signed him but he's probably a little more suited to West Ham.

As a Liverpool fan I'll be sad to see him go, he comes across as a decent lad, and always seemed to put himself about on the pitch. But if I'm honest, he just never justified the fee we paid.

I think a move away is best for him to improve even more and get in the England team.

Problem is the top teams don't play the way that suits Carroll, West Ham or Newcastle is his level as they play with wingers who cross the ball rather than cutting inside to take a shot and pass the ball short towards the middle!

Rumours circulating that Vitor Pereira the Porto manager is soon to become the next Everton manager. I've read he is in the country talking to a top half Premier League team, there are stories he signed a pre contract two months ago and his odds have just been slashed to evens on some sites, 3-1 on some others.

I really hope Chelsea don't loan Lukaku out next season, i also think they would be pretty foolish if they did. He has shown this season just how good of a player he is, he will play a big part in a title challenge for Chelsea next season.

Not a chance Lukaku will go on loan to West Ham, Sullivan is mental. If he does go out on loan, it will be to Albion or a team in a European competition.

Despite what he is done for us this season, he still isn't good enough to be in Chelsea's first team on a regular basis imo. Still very raw, albeit one hell of a player

It's been knowledge for awhile that he has links to agents involved with Everton and put himself forward. Culture shock incoming for him.

We have London Mat. Whilst I don't think we'll get him I do think being a London club who will offer decent wages puts us in the hat. It'll be us west brom Swansea or a German side probably

I don't understand the whole London thing though. He already lives there and chose to come to West Brom last year, when Fulham were interested, so it clearly isn't that big of a draw for him.

I'm hoping that Clarke's relationship with Mourinho sways things in our favour. Lukaku is supposedly keen on coming back to us if he goes out on loan, but advisors are more keen on European Football.

Now suspect Martinez and Stoke are a duo that will unite with Everton aiming higher.

Interesting contrast, from a manager who got points without style to a manager who produces style without points

Martinez & Stoke just doesn't seem right. Your right about the styles and that could be seen by Martinez as a huge challenge to completely alter the way Stoke play football.

Everton going with this Porto manager seems strange and I don't believe it, not when Moyes is supposedly helping them or guiding them in their search for his replacement.

Its weird cos he was perfectly fit at the end of the season and hasnt trained then as soon as big money started being put about BAM he's injured. I very much get the feeling its a nothing thing that could be no problem but they've got the chance to protect him so why not.

Rio Ferdinand has signed a new contract with United.

Happy for Rio, i thought he had a great season and i would of been shell shocked had united released him. I wonder if Moyes will plan on bringing another center back in? I really don't think they need another one though, unless they offload someone, Evans i have never rated that highly.

Happy for him well deserved, he's had a great season!

Also great news for the younger members of the squad like Jones and Smalling to learn from Rio for atleast another year!

Why would AVB just jump ship to Napoli to go and manage in farsical & corrupt league. Okay, they may offer Champions League football but they are certainly going to lose Edinson Cavani this summer. After the Chelsea shambles, he's rebuilt his reputation in England and is rebuilding his career, would not make sense to leave the EPL and going up against Mourinho again would be an exciting challenge.

The only way he would jump ship is if he knew 100% that Bale was leaving, which he doesn't. He would then see Napoli as a better bet and be able to spend the Cavani money and indeed be managing in the Champions League, but it all seems to ridiculous to me. Levy would be a hard negotiator in releasing him.

So has Martinez made a decision as of yet? Tony Pulis to Blackburn seems a sensible move for both parties and would stabilise the club long term.

Lets be fair, Bale or no Bale, it's gonna be bloody hard for Spurs to break into that Top 4 next season.

Napoli have a fair bit of cash, are in the Champions League, and as you say he'll have the Cavani money to spend as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if he went at all, I don't think he'd be that much of a loss to Spurs either

Good to see Rio get the new contract. Reward success, punish failure (do I sound like a ruthless dictator?). I'd like to see another CB come in during the summer as Rio and Vidic are ageing, Jones isn't there yet, Evans will always be a backup I feel and I don't think Smalling is good enough.

Happy for Rio, although Id have loved the offer not to come in and him to come back to East London. I think we probably expressed an interest, rumours suggest we may have offered a longer contract, but theres no competition really.

Bye bye Monsieur Benteke

I wouldnt speak to soon my man.

Speculation.
Goinng to sit down and talk with Villa after the internationals.
UP to us to improve his contract.
His agent has said he is very happy at Villa.
I think he should stay for another season.
May regret leaving, go to a better club, doesnt mean he will do well.

With Bent set to leave, that will leave us very short up front.
I wont worry untill he has walked out the door for good.

Basically a 'come and get me' plea to Arsene, hardly surprising. Mark Hughes to Stoke is a shocker, don't see how that's an improvement from Pulis at all.

Just a guess at Arsenal next season.

That back 5 doesn't look good enough for the top 4 imo.
