Frak no.

A violent cheat and a racist why would anyone want him.

Never mind he racially abused one of our players.

He is a good player but wouldn't be first choice at ot and wouldn't be worth a free transfer for the squad disharmony he would create.

Ridiculous. Quite amazed at how Rooney's reputation and world wide standing is so high.

On form Rooney is easily one of the worlds best. Its getting him fit and motivated thats been the problem. I sense hes fallen out of love with Man United this season and wants a fresh start.

Looks like our love affair with France may finally be over after last year's troubles and lack of fighting spirit. Number of sources stating that Newcastle are in talks with Derby over the signing of Will Hughes. We are also looking at Thomas Ince, another who Pardew went to see at Bloomfield last season.

Think they're both good young British signings which is important and if we can push these deals through early then we've done some good business. We've needed a geniune pacy winger for years and replacing Gutierrez and Obertan are surely the top priority along with a more physical striker. Price should be interesting on these two.

Honestly, I feel a fresh start is in everyones best interests. In Rooneys case I think he feels his career has stalled somewhat and he needs a fresh start to kickstart it. United get a good fee for someone who's been a good servant for them and been at the forefront of a team thats won PLs and a CL.

And Rooney gets a rougher ride than he should sometimes. He (rightly at times) considers himself a world class player, and hes left on the bench for the visit of Real Madrid in the CL?

but he had a shocker in the first leg and was not in good form at all. The system, needed to beat Madrid and nullify their threats was to use more defensively minded wide men which was working until the ref got involved. Fergie's tactics were spot on and it's not the first time a big player has been dropped from a big game. Yes, Rooney is world class but on fewer and fewer occassions in comparison to Ronaldo or Messi. Can't see him leaving England at all, just not the type of player.

Rooney's best days are behind him. French football might not be a bad fit.

Saying someone is world class less often than Ronaldo or Messi applies to the rest of the world though.

See, I don't agree with this. Hes never been reliant on a turn of pace, has a good footballing brain and can pick a pass. Also an underrated eye for goal.

He stalled this season sure, but I don't think we've seen the best of Wayne Rooney. At times hes paid the price for being too versatile.

Rooney definitely divides opinion. Like has been said maybe if he gets his appetite for the game back he may flourish once more.

Too much too soon?

Good player however PSG owner's are crazy to offer that money(or should I say very unethical.. Clearly this sort of money is nothing to the owner- but it doesnt help the rest of europe or the fans when a team decides to create a new benchmark salary for the top players!!

If we estimate before tax his wages to be 500k a week- He is going to be on 26million a year!!

Surely Southampton have Bournemouth second?

Rooney's goal and the general way he was the only forward with a brain again last night prove he's not done yet. United would be foolish to sell him in my opinion.

On the Suarez thing; if ferguson was around it could have been a master stroke but Moyes doesn't need the likely hassle and the risk involved with that idiot is too high. Reports suggest his £40m clause doesn't guarantee transfer it just means he has to be allowed to talk to a club if a bid that high is made. Liverpool apparently want to get as near as the Torres fee as they can, but I'm sure a smart man would point to inflation of that window.

West Ham are apparently set to sign keeper Adrian from Betis (I think, I read it an hour ago and can't remember) on a free.

He's the closest managerial appointment to another Moyes of the guys linked to be fair. In fact, he's even more experienced than Moyes was when he was appointed.

i have been saying numerous times on here in the past that rooney can go, i watch him week in week out and at best we have been getting average performances. he's been scoring a few here and there to keep the majority quiet (normally pens or tap ins) but his overall performance is poor lost a couple of yards of pace, no longer willing to put a shift in like he used to, cant shoot from range (cant believe the hype his brazil goal was given seeing though it was a massive deflection, was going down keeper throat if it didn't hit the defender) and his overall attitude stinks. compare the rooney of 2004 and the one now and the difference is staggering

his lifestyle has meant he's declining early, he's lost his hunger at united and will only go down hill from here. let him leave united it will only be downwards from there. there has never been a player who's gone on to better things after leaving united

Ronaldo is personally doing better I think, but I suppose Real Madrid aren't doing as well as United did when Ronaldo was at United.

I think United will never get more for Rooney than now, they'd have got more for him in the past, but I honestly think they'd be better off selling now and getting however much they can for him. £20-30 million would be a decent return for a player whose best days are clearly behind him.

They should take note from the success of the Van Persie transfer and test Spurs resolve for Bale as well, they'd apparently reject an £85 million bid, but I think anything around the £40 million mark would get them thinking.

Sorry, I've never bought into the Martinez hype. FA cup shouldn't hide hes failed to do a job both Paul Jewell and Steve Bruce managed. Nor attacking football hide that his sides cannot defend.

he knows the English prem better than above, will know the everton team better than above. how many 'great' foreign coaches we had come over who have flopped like ramos at spurs. different world the english prem and one that RM knows well. most people can see that keeping wigan in the prem was doing a good job and did so by bringing young players through, something which everton really need. these foreign managers would have wanted money to bring players in.

Yeah, but he didn't keep them in the prem. Decent manager, but certainly no where near his hype level. I'd be looking for better if I were Everton tbh.

And Schalke aren't exactly rich.

I'll disagree about Rooney till the cows come home. Huge fan. I do get the feeling United wont go for Bale cos they want something to throw at Ronaldo in the near future. Shame, getting both would make them the best attacking outfit in the world

Mourinho coming back then, the Prem should be a lot more exciting next season! Can't see the hype matching the performance though, this'll probably be over in 2 seasons.

So 85 mill for bale?

Will Real really make this bid!!

I can see him going united or chelsea tbh.. But they will have to pay a lot of money to bag him

I think the problem from a United, City or Chelsea's perspective with Bale is that Tottenham have a relationship with Real Madrid and would obviously prefer to tell him to Madrid to keep him from their rivals. If Madrid start talking £60 million plus then none of United, City or Chelsea are going to touch him.

In their favour, Bale might not favour a move abroad and if Madrid go for Suarez and spend £50 million on him, it's hard to see them going for a huge move for Bale. Despite the summer of 2009.
