Champions League Final
First topic message reminder :
So this weekend we have the all German final of Borussia Dortmund vs. Bayern Munich, both teams have done well to get to the final, beating a half of the El Classico each.
The biggest news for the final so far is Mario Gotze is going to miss it through injury. This avoids what would have been one of the most interesting stories going into the final with it being Gotze's last game before moving to Munich.
What are everybody's predictions? I think Bayern will finally win the final 2-1, in extra time.

Seem to remember Robben miss 2 1 on 1s in the World Cup final too.
Though to be fair, thats more than I remember Ribery ever doing.

He's definitely up there with Thierry Henry on final performances.

Re: Champions League Final
Robben's just awful. He never does anything except score fluky wonder goals to dump teams, especially those from Manchester, out of the CL
Hummels has been rank rotten so far tonight too. One has to wonder how fit he is.

HT 0-0.
Dortmund look the more dangerous but Bayern have worked a few good chances. Sadly they've all dropped to Robben

Thought that was an excellent first half, felt like a heavyweight boxing match, both probing, both at times having to soak up a battering when they're on wobbly legs.

Re: Champions League Final
That half has flown by which is invariably the sign of a great 45 minutes of football. Neuer has had to make several smart saves, whilst Robben has spurned some very good chances. Can't believe it's still goalless in truth. Hope the second half is just as good.

Its the game Dortmund wanted at the moment, and not the pragmatic game I suspect Bayern prefer

If Bayern score then it's probably coming from a set piece.

That said, you can see why Bayern would bring in Pep and Gotze.

Not sure there was much Weidenfeller could do but block the shot Olly. Point blank range. His defenders and bad luck much more to blame

Agreed, not sure what the keeper could that he didn't
He narrowed the angle and took robben a bit wider, in fairness robben did well but it still had to beat abdortmund defender who could have blocked it

Bottled it ref, that was a blatant yellow. Nani was red carded for left. (Yes, I'm still fuming).

Bayern have summoned up the spirit of 1999 and 2012. Quite ridiculous that Dante wasn't sent off there.
