Champions League Final
First topic message reminder :
So this weekend we have the all German final of Borussia Dortmund vs. Bayern Munich, both teams have done well to get to the final, beating a half of the El Classico each.
The biggest news for the final so far is Mario Gotze is going to miss it through injury. This avoids what would have been one of the most interesting stories going into the final with it being Gotze's last game before moving to Munich.
What are everybody's predictions? I think Bayern will finally win the final 2-1, in extra time.

Lewandowski's a legend. It was a red card but Boateng deserved it.

Shaqiri is wasted at Bayern. I'd really like to see him come on for Robben/Ribery.

I'd have taken off Ribery a while ago. Wholly ineffective in a big game.

I don't watch Bayern every week but I've seen Ribery a lot for club and country and he never seems to do anything. Ok, the pass to Robben for the first goal was decent but he's just a name and an ugly face!!

Agreed. I know he's young still but he shouldn't be content with sitting on the bench here. I'd have him at united in a heartbeat
Btw don't cares just scored, robben is still w@nk

Unless you're a Dortmund fan you can't deny Bayern deserve it because they've been the best team in the competition by a mile.

Full credit to Dortmund who are mainly responsible for making this such a spectacle. But they haven't defended nearly well enough

Think it could have been quite different if Riberys elbow or Dante's boot had been punished correctly.

I agree, but equally Lewandowski should've walked.
The best team won in the end I think. Close but Dortmund couldn't defend.

Well done Bayern, truly deserved winners.
A fantastic final as well, it wasn't tight or edgy like most finals are these days. I just wonder how Guardiola improves this Bayern team!

Maybe so but that's "ifs" and "buts". Lewandowski should have been off for walking on Boateng. I do admit Bayern were very lucky in the final though with those decisions. I never saw the Ribery one but Dante's was a stonewall red.

Re: Champions League Final
Great game, could've gone either way.
Gutted for Dortmund, been a great story this year. They missed Gotze a lot. Also how Dante stayed on the pitch I'll never know.
Happy for Heynecks (i cant spell it)

Re: Champions League Final
Definitely ribery should've walked and Dante should've walked
Even eleven v eleven I don't think either team deserved to lose in 90 minutes. Dortmund by far the better team in the first 45 and Munich should be thankful to neuer for keeping them in it (first time in an competition he's had to make more than 5 saves in a single half of football this year)
Incredible game and would've been fair to go into extra time

Re: Champions League Final
As for man of the match. I'd plump for Neuer personally, but Robben was a menace throughout even if he was wasteful.

Re: Champions League Final
A better centreback to go with Dante, different options upfront, long term replacement for Robben.

Re: Champions League Final
Subotic totally bottled it. He wanted to break Robben's legs but the fear of giving away a penalty eventually resulted in him doing nothing.

I'd imagine Robbens winner will seal the deal there.

I don't think this marks an era of German dominance by any means. In theory, Bayern will get stronger next season but if Dortmund are going to lose Gotze and Lewandowski or others then you can't really see them challenging again for a while.

No country has dominated the CL since it's inception really although the Italians of the 90's may argue that.

Re: Champions League Final
Pep has already stated Robben can leave, he wants to change their style and take it to another level. Judging by this performance you can see that there is definitely room for improvement. Will be a tough job though going into Bayern now, something Mourinho would never contemplate whatsover. If anything, if Pep does not win the treble next season, his reputation has taken a hit. Agreed about Shaqiri, love the player to bits and I can see Pep utilising him much more as he's a Guardiola type player with great technique and a low sense of gravity. Throw in Gotze & Toni Kroos and you've got some great attacking options to choose from. Can see Dortmund struggling to live up to this performance next season.

God I feel for Klopp.
His team is gonna get decimated now. Did anybody read his interview in I think it was The Guardian? Here it is if you haven't http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/may/21/jurgen-klopp-borussia-dortmund-champions-league
Serious man love for this guy
