Paying more than £2-3m is a ludicrous

I really like Gayle, i think he is class. He looks to me a better version of CMS.
He would do well at Palace (scum), but anything above 4 million is just completely crazy.

Not really is it.
Reasonable for a 21 year old youth international who scores goals from midfield.

Liverpool did well to baulk at a lesser fee in Jan. Id be fairly disappointed in my 8ms worth

8m is overpriced but not Carroll levels of ridiculousness

Technically, no transfer has ever reached Carroll levels of ridiculousness.

Re: 2013 Summer Transfer Window Thread
Ince for 8 million is acceptable as well. Zaha for 17 million. Now that is laughable.
But no transfer and no transfer ever will beat 35 million for Andy Carroll.

There is at least one Robbie Keane transfer I would put above it.

Today it has been announced that Florent Malouda, Ross Turnbull, Paulo Ferreira and Yossi Benayoun have departed Chelsea as the players' contracts have come to an end.

Deal worth potentially 3.2m coming to the Nodge. Chuffed with that if it comes off

I may be in the minority here, but I'd rather have Redmond than Ince

Can't say I've seen enough of either to make a real choice, but happy to be seemingly getting Redmond for 2m + 1.2m in add ons

Re: 2013 Summer Transfer Window Thread
Two things:
1. Twitter is blocked at work, what's the pic? Him and the Wolf?
2. Bender at Arsenal would be interesting, 23m euros nowhere near enough though.

Sadly inevitable, convinced we'll sign him or Richard Dunne as we need a 4th choice centre back. He'll be better than Pogatetz anyway

Redmond is not on Ince's level (good low risk signing though)

Re: 2013 Summer Transfer Window Thread
Having seen both Redmond and Ince play, I don't think there's much between them. Ince is the better player, but I think Redmond has the greater potential. Norwich could be a great place for him to grow into the game. Euro 16 anyone?

Re: 2013 Summer Transfer Window Thread
Did i really see a post where someone said Redmond is better than Ince?
Sunderland have made 3 signings today, including Modibo Diakite. Paulo using his links and contacts well it seems.

With the Redmond/Ince comparisons you gotta remember Redmond is two years younger than Ince
Had his best season under Hughton last year, hopefully he'll flourish here

Not to mention, Redmond's dad doesn't seem to be as involved with his son's career as Tom Ince's interfering old sourpuss dad

Re: 2013 Summer Transfer Window Thread
Low risk/high reward potential. Annoyed we didn't go in as he'd have definitely come here (him and Rav the chav are gangsta bros).
Can't see Redmond ever being an England regular, but his value probably won't drop below 3m in the next five years even if he does nothing

Re: 2013 Summer Transfer Window Thread
I can see Ince stagnating and never getting better than this, same for Zaha, whereas Redmond strikes me as a different character altogether. Reminds me of Tony Daley for some reason.

Albion are looking at Nicolas Anelka on a free transfer, also got interest in Nacer Chadli, Toivonen, Sinclair(loan) and Demba Ba(loan)

Demba Ba on loan would be a lovely signing. Clarke using his links with Chelsea/Mourinho nicely it seems

Re: 2013 Summer Transfer Window Thread
As long as Anelka stays 1,000 miles away from our club, I'm happy. So while I wouldn't normally be happy about it, I'd love Demba Ba to sign on loan for us. Or Torres.

Re: 2013 Summer Transfer Window Thread
I feel its probably going to be West Ham vs West Brom for Ba's signature on loan this season, although its hard to tell with us.
Wigan have also bid for Albert Adomah. Apparently a bid of 850k, but Bristol want £1.2m.

He's improved last couple of years, limited but decent cover for Tiote or as centre back. Would not want to see him leave before Obertan, Ameobi, Gosling or Gutierrez etc. What's the fee?

No.
Bolton have signed Alex Baptiste from Blackpool. With the way they finished the Championship last season, i expect them to be one of the big sides this season.

According to the special needs guy at our church, Reading stuffed Norwich 5-0 on Saturday night in a pre-season friendly

Re: 2013 Summer Transfer Window Thread
Well considering most of our players are still in various places around the world, yet to come back to the club for pre-season training, it's pretty unlikely.
