I was at that game, and he was quality. Barely gave Henry a kick, when he came off the bench. I remember Heurelho Gomes was in goal for PSV, and he look pretty decent as well that night

Failed a medical for Everton in January.
Then again so did Demba Ba for Stoke.

I thought Everton rejected him because Fellaini didn't leave? Although I did hear the failed medical story as well

Oh John, dont do it. Second to Cech, then when Cech's time is up hes second to Courtois. Give it a year and we'll be in the market lad
Fer was medical from my memory, he recently claimed that Everton are still in touch with him. He would be a wonderful signing for Norwich you would think. A season that looks very promising for Norwich, although if it all goes pear shaped then it would be worrying cos they've finally decided whether to sh*t or get off the pot.

Sky Sports are reporting Swansea are close to signing Wilfried Bony for a club record £10.2 million. Bony and Michu could be a mouth-watering prospet for the Swans.

I can't see why Ruddy would do it, basically going to play backup for his career, which is something he doesn't like doing (all his loan moves whilst at Everton). Especially in a World Cup year it'd be stupid.
I'd be reluctant to sell him, and if we lost him I'd be gutted. But I guess for something like £10m, you can replace him and have cash to spare

Can't see Ruddy going to Chelsea at all, bad story this. This is just like the Butland to Chelsea story all over again.

Just wanted to point out that Jessica Alba got schooled last night by Maggio, for the "world's best LB" he sure looked less than average
Anyone signing for Chelsea is mad, go to Citeh where they pay you more!

I say this every transfer window but I won't believe a striker from the Dutch league is good before I see him in a better league. So many have moved and failed or performed poorly.

Re: 2013 Summer Transfer Window Thread
Indeed, and RVN only scored goals because he was surrounded by such great players at United and Real.
Bony to Swansea is the equivalent of Hooper to Norwich, two guys completely unproven in a league with any apparent quality, for huge sums of money. I'd rather spend £8m on Darren Bent.
And £15m for Aubameyang is also crazy, although he's a better bet than Bony or Hooper.

Re: 2013 Summer Transfer Window Thread
To be fair to Hooper, he was decent for Scunthorpe in the Championship so he has got some pedigree in English football, just not at the top. I've never seen Aubameyang so I can't say anything about him. He looks like Chamakh, let's hope he doesn't play like him!!

Bents a bit poo really. Like playing with 10 men.
Bony has all the attributes to be a success in this league. Hes a better prospect than the likes of Alfonso Alves

Chamakh is nothing compared to Aubameyang, who has pace, power, and a good brain. Chamakh just had good movement and a solid bonce, similar to Giroud really.
Championship football doesn't count for me, so many players have done well at that level and failed to make the step up (I'm thinking the likes of Chopra), and so few prolific scorers from the lower divisions ever actually replicate that. Rickie Lambert is a great exception of course!

Looks like Vito Mannone will be replacing Simon Miglolet at Sunderland. The Black Cats have agreed a fee with Arsenal for the Italian.

I'd go with Westwood as well. I think Vito's level is the top half of the Championship, but he'll be a solid back up at least.

6 months after being a makeweight in the Becchio deal, Morison has returned to Millwall on a seasons loan. Good signing that.

For Millwall definitely, they need someone who knows how to score goals, and he does. Leeds are a bit of a joke at the moment.

Aye, hurt them when they lost Wood in January, and Henderson as a fall back option.
Thought he might have got a chance, but he fits the Neil Warnock way more than McDermott.

From Millwall's perspective, Morison's goals should guarantee them survival. That's all the can realistically hope for these days. Good signing for Steve Lomas.

He's a great player, I wish to God we could have him at Albion. Ho hum. Good for Sevilla, selling Navas and getting someone nearly as good.

Waste of money imo, they need better than GON to improve their squad. Especially on his reputed wages.

Re: 2013 Summer Transfer Window Thread
That was the reason it took so long to get a deal signed. Reduced terms. Pretty happy with that, proved himself a very able back up last season, gonna take serious money for anything to improve our centre 3 at the minute and we wont be spending serious money on an area like that. Good squad player who is obviously a good member of the unit we have.

I heard he was on £50k a week before, from a pretty reliable source. Any idea what he's on now? Anything more than £25k is a waste imo.

Yeah Morison is a good signing for Millwall, slightly surprised Leeds let him go. If he's interested he has the credentials to be a good Prem striker, but he's barely interested half the time

So have Albion, it's up to the player to decide who he wants to sign for. Not being biased, but Albion is by far the better option.GSC wrote:Norwich have agreed a fee for Ola Toivonen

There is no way he was on 50k, signed when gold and Sullivan eeee in charge and Nolan is on 60-65k. 50k would be more than Diame is on now and was offered in Jan.
I'd have no problem with 35k-ish

He doesn't know who either of our teams are anyway.

Norwich are only team to have been confirmed as making a bid for toivonen though. By the psv chairman this morning. Toivonen now has until Wednesday to make his mind up on if he signs for Norwich or not or faces being placed in there reserves next season

Which translates to this for those that don't know dutch
Ola Toivonen can continue his career in the Premier League. The attacking midfielder is set to sign a contract with Norwich City. PSV has already reached an agreement with the English club. "It is now up to Ola," says technical manager Marcel Brands. In Sweden, the story goes that PSV gets nearly six million Toivonen. "We never go in the amounts mentioned, but we have an agreement with Norwich City on Ola. Now it's entirely up to him to decide whether he wants to make the move," said Brands in talks with Sport Bladet.
Toivonen gets a little more time to think about his future. "We begin Monday with training. Ola has to Wednesday. If there is still no clarity around Norwich, I just expect him here."

Although i do rate the player highly and he looks a real talent. That is a stupid amount of money IMO.

£8.5m??? Football has lost its Frak mind, how is anyone meant to buy a normal player anymore if someone like Dwight Gayle costs £8.5m?? Are you sure Liverpool arent funding this so they can claim Andy Carroll was actually worth £35m?
