Foreign Transfer Page
First topic message reminder :
As a general rule, if you want a world class player (and by world class I mean a player that I consider to be one of the 3 best in the world in his position at the moment), you will be looking at between £20-25 million.
For a top international with over 30 caps, £17-22 million, and an international with less than 30 caps £15-20 million. There may be some exceptions to this in the case of certain players, but this will be the general rule.
There will be an upper limit of £10 million for uncapped academy aged players unless two or more managers want the player and enter into a bidding war in which case there is no upper limit.
Bids for uncapped players who are over academy age limits will be judged on their own individual merits.

I'm a bit unsure where I need to bid for him as he's English, I'll see what Johnny thinks

Re: Foreign Transfer Page
Pooly I asked SJE earlier in the week about this rule too, it counts as a foreign if has come from a club outside of England - sure he came from Cardiff so would have to count as foreign.
Personally think it would make it easier getting more EQ into the game if you could bid on English players and it not count as foreign. You might be able to get away with saying he was in the Quins academy, but don't think he's ever been listed in Steven's squad.
Had no idea he was English!
Ben Morgan was bought in a foreign window.

I don't think he counts as a foreign but has to be bid on in the foreign window.
I know that's what happened with Morgan.

Re: Foreign Transfer Page
Prop tried to bid on him a few months back, and as he originated from Wales I believe SJE ruled he had to be a foriegn

Re: Foreign Transfer Page
But he came through the Cardiff system like Morgan for Scarlets. So they'd be foreign transfers?

He's English though.
Happened with Morgan a few seasons back, had to bid for him in foreign window but not a foreign player.

Re: Foreign Transfer Page
He counts as a foreign under the current rules of the game, but I think that it would benefit the game if you could get any EQ player in during a foreign window and not have it count as a foreign signing.
That's what it used to be but that changed - would be happy for a law change with this as more ways of geting EQ into the game the better for it in my opinion.

Re: Foreign Transfer Page
Think the change to the academy rule and limits on squads have benefitted the game.
For example I had to release campagnaro and this summer have to choose whether to release players like Arno Botha a full springbok and potential super star

Re: Foreign Transfer Page
Yea, you can only bid on foreign EQ in the foreign window.
As far as I'm aware it's not against your 2 allocation

It is against the allocation unfortunately - it didn't use to be but the rule got changed at the start of this season. I'd be happy to see it come back.

Re: Foreign Transfer Page
I'm sure it doesn't go against allocation and i'm sure you but i might be wrong
The rules say nothing about it but i'm sure it's gone before with Ben Morgan i think when prop signed him against me. I think you backed the idea as well Chris.

To make a foreign transfer (i.e. from any club outside of the AP, regardless of whether the player is English) a bid should be made on the Foreign Transfers Page, which will be considered by me against the posted guidelines for purchase prices before being accepted or rejected.
