"Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino confirms an interest in Victor Wanyama, Leandro Damiao and Ever Banega.
Saints are preparing for their second season in the top flight and have ambitious plans for the future, with European football mentioned as possibility.
Pochettino says a move for Celtic midfielder Wanyama "could happen" still, while there is interest in Valencia's Banega and Brazil international Damiao."

Signing those three would put Southampton into 6th-8th territory. Wowzers.

Still got a feeling Hooper will end up here
I think someone will get Hooper for around the £4.5m/£5m mark now he's in the last year of his contract, from what I've heard he's happy at Celtic and would happily re-sign but wants £30k p/w which isnt unrealistic considering he'd get more from a mouth to the Premiership, Celtic though over the last 5 years have worked hard to bring their wage bill down and now ttheir top earner is on £25k p/w although thats only one man, the skipper Scott Brown, he's £5k better off than anyone else so unless Celtic change their philosophy and I really cant see them doing that or else Forster, Wanyama, Ledley and Commons might stary banging the door down looking for the same then I think Hooper will be sold, however I actually think Celtic know that a goalscorer like Hooper will always be in demand and thats why I think they'll wait to after their European qualifiers to sell him on unless they get an unexpected bid of £6m+
Its just a matter of who will wait for him

Good pickup for Bournemouth is Jackson. His pace causes problems will always run his heart out and when on form he scores a lot of goals.

"Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido says neither Manchester City nor Tottenham have made a bid for striker Alvaro Negredo.
It has been reported that Del Nido held talks with City chief-executive Ferran Soriano on Wednesday but today he stressed he would not negotiate a cut-price deal with any club and declared that, for now, Negredo was still a Sevilla player.
He says: "Sevilla have an asking price for Negredo and if they aren't met, he will play for Sevilla next season. Tomorrow he will sleep in Seville and then he will start training with the team again. There have been no offers from English football, not from City, not from Tottenham."

"Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is prepared to increase his bid in order to lure Daniele De Rossi to Stamford Bridge, reports the Daily Express.
It is reported De Rossi had also piqued the interest of Manchester City, though Manuel Pellegrini seems to be intent on capturing Pablo Osvaldo and Alvaro Negredo.
The Blues however were already pondering making a £10m bid for the 84-cap Italy international but it seems Mourinho is ready to table a bigger offer to land his man."

"Crystal Palace are looking to announce the arrival of winger Jerome Thomas within 48 hours, reports the Croydon Advertiser.
It is reported Thomas, 30, and his representative team have been in talks with the Eagles for nearly three weeks, but it seems a deal is to be concluded by the weekend.
"The deal had hit a slight hitch but I think it's going to be all right - it's being ironed out," co-chairman Steve Parish said."

O'Neil, having agreed a deal, then changed his mind. All that does is prove to me we werent offering the money he wanted originally, explaining the delay, then he reluctantly took it. Then bigger money comes in and he darts off. No harm really, its a back up spot we will fill, shame as he worked hard but no big loss. Does sound like Gold is a wrestling fan though
Should be a pretty smart little signing for Palace Jerome Thomas. Adds a bit of pace, wont break the bank and gives their squad some options. If they sign Carlton too then they will have done well out of the frees.
Made the mistake of listening to TalkSport on my drive home. According to the Peterborough chairman Dwight Gayle should be looking to make the World Cup squad, and that Kumquat Durham agreed, calling everyone who said he wasnt good enough an idiot who hadnt seen him play. Broadcasting.

Messrs Gold and Sullivan are also on transfer business in France, most likely over Ludovic Sane or Kalou (although the twitterati are loving the fact that Demba Ba is apparently in France right now, I think their logic being that we'd pop over and see him whilst hes on holiday), whilst rumoured to still be trying to structure a deal for Bony.

Probably destroy ligue 1. Its not a great league, bar four or five teams. 30 goals a season would be a reasonable target seeing as zlatan was banging them in left, right n centre. What's happening with zlatan, staying or going? Its either or surely in partnering lavezzi.
Any news on Bent? Heard a rumour we had a £6.5m accepted.

Press conference tomorrow for Moyes and I'm hoping its tomorrow where he can announce the signing of Thiago. Unbelievably excited to see him in a utd shirt. Never thought we'd get a chance, he was being molded into Xavi's replacement and the future of Barca's midfield which is why they put such a high buy out clause on him in the first place until it went down to 15m.

If Suarez is too move from Liverpool there's only one place he'll go imo and that's too Madrid. Especially with Higuain on the way out, I think Madrid will use part of that fee for Suarez later in the summer, no doubts in my mind. With Isco signing, I can see Madrid going for a player like Suarez, clearly going for the small, agile and young player.

I must say bravo to whoever put in the clause in his contract that means if he didnt play a certain amount of games then his release fee is lowered. I think its very clever and reasonably fair. Dont hold people to ransom for players you wont play. Of course, he had a future, but it gives him a chance to move on for himself.

It would be a good time to announce a big signing but I must admit I thought it would be something earth shattering in welcoming Moyes to United. Bale or Ronaldo would of been the ideal marquee signing and sent a statement out to their rivals in saying that life after Fergie will be just as strong. Thiago, still a good player but not the one I expected a few months back. Be interesting to see the Rooney story tomorrow, we should get an answer.

Gonna be honest and say that Gayle pushing for the World Cup squad is not so outlandish as it sounds really. He's a good prospect, I don't see why he shouldn't be looking to try and force his way in there. It's not like we're blessed with striking talent at the minute

Hard to say "no, I wouldnt" because his record for Chelsea was always alright and his record for Lille is decent, but I've never been a huge fan. Hes been playing pretty regular top level football for about 7 years though, hard to argue with really. Cheap deal, could work out very well but its no guaranteed thing. Suits the role though.

In what was a pretty poor Championship quality wise he scored 13 goals, a fine total but not exactly rip roaring. An off hand comment about how "if he scored 20 goals then why not" would be fine but hes making him out like a star. Theres a 24 year old striker who scored 14 goals in that league last year on loan who has recently been thrown back as not good enough for the top flight. Impossible? No. Outlandish? Pretty much.

Yeah he's going a bit over the top with praise, but Gayle's a pretty handy little player (from what I've seen). I think he'll do well at Palace, an England call up isn't too outlandish I don't think. Especially if Welbeck is as dump as he was this year

Jerome Thomas is an atrocious footballer. He's lost his pace now, can't pass, can't cross, can't shoot, can't head, will not track back, can't tackle, has poor positional sense, and makes Theo Walcott's ball control look like Iniesta's. So glad we got rid of him.Dolphin Ziggler wrote:Should be a pretty smart little signing for Palace Jerome Thomas. Adds a bit of pace, wont break the bank and gives their squad some options. Valencia is done imo, either lost a yard from his injury or has been effected mentally - either way he didn't have a single "day" last season.
I wouldn't be surprised if Bale ended up at old trafford, lots of sponsors to keep happy in England.
one bad season and your writing him, some loyalty that. yet nanis had bad seasons for nearly all yet one yet still gets chances. at least when valencia is bad he still puts a shift in for the team

That was said about him before he joined West Brom. I dont think hes going to keep them up or anything, but I think hes a reasonable addition on a free for a newly promoted side. If it works he plays, if not then they are not gonna be throwing atrocious money at a squad member. Few injuries slowed his season down, but hes only 30 so it could be just a bad year. Worth a go, without being particularly exciting

Apparently Ibra may be included in the Cavani transfer.
Italian media seem pretty certain that the deal for Cavani to PSG will go through today though, and that they are lining up either Dzeko or Jovetic to replace Edi if Ibra does not go the other way.

Yeah, basically Cavani n Falcao should destroy Ligue 1. Interesting news is that Ibrahimovic could in line for a shock move to Real Madrid with Ancelotti keen to be reunited with him.

I guess if Cavani completes the move to PSG then Ancelotti would be left with going for Suarez or Ibrahimovic. Two different style of players, one he knows very well.
YESSSSS! Apparently, we've pulled out of a deal for Arouna Kone, Kinnear's seen sense about buying more African's. Also, I'm hearing that Moyes is going to announce that Rooney is staying. How boring a story that could all end up being.
