Foreign Transfers
First topic message reminder :
As a general rule, if you want a world class player (and by world class I mean a player that I consider to be one of the 3 best in the world in his position at the moment), you will be looking at between £20-25 million.
For a top international with over 30 caps, £17-22 million, and an international with less than 30 caps £15-20 million. There may be some exceptions to this in the case of certain players, but this will be the general rule.
There will be an upper limit of £10 million for uncapped academy aged players unless two or more managers want the player and enter into a bidding war in which case there is no upper limit.
Bids for uncapped players who are over academy age limits will be judged on their own individual merits.
Current Bids Under Consideration
stnick88 - Netani Talei - £16 million (06/06/12 - 15:12)
anonmattyt - Karl Chateau - £13 million (06/06/12 - 14:50)
Arry - Ben Daley - £15 million (06/06/12 - 12:22)
dammit_chris - Sebastien Taofifenua - £11 million (06/06/12 - 12:04)
Steven_Sharks - Iain Henderson - £5 million (06/06/12 - 11:34)
Ozzy3213 - Dewaldt Duvenage - £12 million (06/06/12 - 11:33)
prop_lyd - Eli Walker - £5 million (06/06/12 - 08:49)

Re: Foreign Transfers
Personally I don't care whether I lose 3 games during wc. I feel that after I will have the side to be top 4. that said a good/bad wc can kill you in this game
Look at luka. Leicester in the run in were scalping people. Had a poor start with lots out of form and not much chance to change squad. Now he is a danger team
If SA win the world cup and steenkamp bakkies, burger, alberts, de jongh and habana play well then my team will be viewed as lethal. If SA under perform( likely under PDv) then it's difficult to claw back lost wc points.
Lucky that genia carter and mils are timeless. Ferris is fit so come on fantasy glos

Re: Foreign Transfers
World Cup will play a big part this season, in terms of both results during it, and which players make a name for themselves and are seen as superstars after it.

Re: Foreign Transfers
World cup plays a huge part.
same as the lions. I won my first 7 games after the Lions tour cause I had heaslip, wallace, phillips etc who were playing great rugby. World cup will do the same. But gotta make sure your still in with a chance
I am stuck whether to go for a steady eddy or a future world beater atm

Mat, we could do this outbidding each other all day but it will get boring shortly I reckon. What is your budget (transfer homepage not up to date) and how much are you prepared to go to?

You won't beat Matt when he gets his game face on Pete...I've learned in the past with Gray and Mas.

In all honesty I would go to £35 million max for him, so if you want to bid £36 million I won't top it.

£14m is a fair bid for a player who has played 30mins of union...

Re: Foreign Transfers
At 30 I will go to my limit. I current highest bidder. If you want to bid more to force cash out of me then do. Remember karma!!.
We like the same players I wanted your last foreign also!!

Re: Foreign Transfers
I'm just doing some maths with my squad mate to work out who I could release/sell to give me enough cash for my 3rd foreign if I trump your £45 million.
I'm not into to pushing the price up to be honest mate, goes against the spirit of rugby

Ah bollix, I can't bring myself to let Fourie go for £30 million when I would pay more than that for him.

Re: Foreign Transfers
Pete how does this fourie thing stand.
My bid was in for over 24 hours. I thought it meant that if no one else had bid in those 24 hours then the player was mine if the bid was not accepted ??

You need to wait for Driver to do the bids mate, the 24hr thing on champ players

Re: Foreign Transfers
As Pooly said, until Driver has accepted a bid it can be outbid by someone else. 24 hours was always a minimum time I left it before accepting bids in order to allow anyone who wanted to bid higher the opportunity to do so.

What's the current record for bids at the moment, as this one looks like its going to get pretty close - is it Richie Gray or Ben Morgan atm?

Re: Foreign Transfers
PROP - BJ BOTHA - REJECTED
CHRIS - WILLIE MASON - ACCEPTED
LUKE - WYATT CROCKETT - ACCEPTED
207 - BEAU ROBINSON - ACCEPTED
The bigging for Dean Fourie is currently with Matt at £41m , Pete has until 12:56 tomorrow to outbid him.
Cancel bid for Buckley from Exeter
Bid instead £22m for Glasgow prop Geoff Cross
