The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Ealing Broadway
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The pub has made its way back to London where the victorious British & Irish Lions squad will start their 25 day open bus journey across England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland - being greeted by millions of happy, proud, delirious, tipsy and slightly sunburned rugby fans.
So grab a beer, cider, whiskey or wine.... or a warm beverage and sit back and enjoy their well-earned procession through the streets where it all began.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of the legendary
Warren Gatland, Sam Warburton, Alex Corbisiero, Jonathan Sexton, George North, Jamie Roberts and Richie Gray.

Erm, slightly embarrassing to say this but this particular Welsh internationals 'male organ' was described as being of similar dimensions to a full size can of pringles

I know the Welsh guy I think. His defence can be a little bit guff butt. He was in Dublin, the one I am thinking of. The Irish guys are obvious.

I just follow lots of other Irish rugby fans on twitter. All the texts and all have been pretty unavoidable. I'd say that 50% of Ireland knows all the gory details by now.
It is slightly crass and embarrassing I admit it.

Surprised the Daily Mail or The Sun hasn't caught up on all the 'gory details' yet!

I'm still clueless...but like I said I don't use Twitter...and to be honest, I'm not sure I want to know all that stuff. Isn't anything worth keeping quiet anymore? Incidentally, experience tells me it's impossible for any man to have a wanger the size of a tube of Pringles. Slight exaggeration methinks....that girl needs to eat more Pringles
Oh and evening all.
Well I've had a rather schitt day as it goes thanks to someone giving me an undeserved row in front of my colleagues and left me feeling angry and frustrated (more with myself). Oh I love that sort of unprofessionalism Anyway, I went to the gym and vented some of that frustration elsewhere. Unlike others, I do my best to avoid taking things out on someone else.
PS Just re-read Rev's post properly...as you can tell, I'd never make it in Scotland Yard...

No Prop. I've got the Rugby World Lions Spesh and it's not even in the little newsy bits at the bottom of the page. They do have some alternative Lions awards though. But nothing to do with Pringles tubes.

Haha!
Nah, don't think there'd be much interest outside of Ireland. It's all over the Irish papers but it will blow over soon. It's more funny than anything else. We probably need to learn to be a bit less voyeuristic but these lads need to learn to be a bit more circumspect too!

Nor was the word "tube". Nor was the person describing it female.
Do they make small boxes of pringles?

Here's a question - how long is sunburn supposed to take to fade? It was bad sunburn but not to the point of blistering...does it depend on where it is?

Does it matter what words were used and who said it? I think if anyone compares a certain male organ to some "Pringles" it's safe to assume that they're not on about a stack of a few crisps or even the 40g tubes (which is the smallest they do I think)...

Evening!
Boy is my house a mess after me being out for 5 days. (I actually hit the wrong key there and had a "g" instead of a "d" at the start of the last word!!!!! Took me a bit by surprise when I read it back!!!)
Anyway.
Cari,
Sunburn usually only persists for a couple of days. By a week even quite severe sunburn should have settled.

Mine hasn't MrsP and it's been 8 days. It's still very red and sore under my eyes. Was told by NHS Direct to go to pharmacy. Went to pharmacy and they just said use Vaseline to keep it moist. I can see me having to trek to the GP. I look awful.

I'm OK ta. Mrs G is rough (par for currently unfortunately) Miss G is boisterous. Our best lamb died yesterday and the second best was panting heavily earlier on and I'm hoping he's packed it in by the morning or he'll need a jab. We're in the crucial 40 day before tupping stage so any temperature on them now could knock their fertility for a while. So heavy showers and hot bursts in between incessantly are grinding my gears at the moment as it raises the risk of pneumonia. Jabbing them is fine, but can also effect fertility. But apart from that fine and dandy

Oh and I've got three solicitors (out of 6 of us) and a couple of secretaries off between holidays and sickness, I've just opened a new office, everybody wants everything done yesterday because its August and I'm under more pressure than ever. The sheep however have managed to make me put that out of my mind for a bit!

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Ealing Broadway
What a story; Bangor RFC invited to play the full Treviso team in pre-season. They took a lead at 3-0 within the opening minute and things were looking good for Bangor. Unfortunately they were eventually just pipped to the win in a 92-3 defeat...
http://www.ulsterrugby.com/branch/news/11646.php
Bangor aren't even in the AIL. They're in Kukri Qualifying 1 this year which is the Ulster Branch junior league for qualifying for the AIL. So to be invited to play against Treviso is quite an honour. And quite a big jump in quality.

Sounds like a strange fixture for Treviso to have arranged. Not because of the gulf in quality between the two sides, but because Bangor north Wales would have given them more of a game.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Ealing Broadway
As a boy watching Llanelli in the Floodlight Aliance I would often spend winter Wednesday evenings at Stradey Park. We would stand on the Tanner Bank, play rugby behind the dead ball line or if it was an east wind, shiver on the terrace under the Grandstand. I never watched a game from the Pwll End in my life. The terrace was Lewi's territory. The sort of character they don't make any more, he would haul his slight, hunched, jockey sized frame over the dwarf wall that separated the terrace from the pitch and parade back and fore down the touch line like a drunken owl. Fag in one hand, plastic bag with cans in the other. His coat from his grandfather (who was a bigger man than Lewi) and a red and white home knitted bobble hat and scarf hung off him. He would hurl asthmatic obscenities at opposition and ref to hoots of laughter and encouragement from the faithful. It was the same routine every week. After the third penalty against the Scarlets he would reach dramatically and drunkenly into the deep inner pocket of the overcoat and flourish (eventually after much fumbling) a red card. The ref, linesman, the other team, their fans, nobody was safe from the red card treatment, except of course his beloved Scarlets.
Lewi died today, as did a little bit of Rugby.
