The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub, Ealing Broadway
First topic message reminder :
Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The pub has made its way back to London where the victorious British & Irish Lions squad will start their 25 day open bus journey across England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland - being greeted by millions of happy, proud, delirious, tipsy and slightly sunburned rugby fans.
So grab a beer, cider, whiskey or wine.... or a warm beverage and sit back and enjoy their well-earned procession through the streets where it all began.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of the legendary
Warren Gatland, Sam Warburton, Alex Corbisiero, Jonathan Sexton, George North, Jamie Roberts and Richie Gray.

Of me? No. This name fits me like a pair of old slippers. Catching up on the Bledisloe on this link. Decent quality.

I recorded the Boks v Pumas game but to tell the truth not had the heart to watch. Until the UAR bite the bullet and accept that they need to establish a professional league in Argentina, then they will make no progress. Fielding amateurs against the Boks just will not work. And the NH based players are just too out of synch with the SH season to be as effective. Just hope that it will not take too many more humiliations before they cop on.

Sorry prop....I missed that.prop_lyd wrote:How did Sam do hound? Did he play?
I don't know who played for CQ as there was no programme. The Ealing team (and multiple subs) was printed on a few sheets of A4 left on the tables in the bar.
Afternoon all.

I don't remember seeing his name, prop. I think the starting hooker was Sam Hocking, who we got from Cornish Pirates.

Off to boney Scotland at Midnight. The pinnacle of the Texel breeding year with the best sale in the World in Lanark. I haven't had time to get excited - its not PC with Mrs G in her current state, I've got a shoitestorm to sort out in work and my mental calendar is stuck in July for some reason. Oh well

Afternoon lucky. Ealing will have a Gwent club in the B&I Cup. Apparrently the Welsh clubs have a regional qualifying competition.
In other news Wasps have surprisingly appointed Chris Bell as captain for this season. I would think Shug will be disappointed; he did a good job last season. Maybe, at 33, he will struggle for a starting place in what will be quite a young side.

Newport play Cross Keys and the winners play Bedwas to go through is my understanding of it.Hound of Harrow wrote:Afternoon lucky. Ealing will have a Gwent club in the B&I Cup. Apparrently the Welsh clubs have a regional qualifying competition.

Big call for Wasps appointing Bell.

Ah well, Leinster A are the favourites, but it's good for whoever goes through to get that experience like Keys had v Munster A. I think Keys will beat Newport, but expect Bedwas to go through given they're the home team.Jenifer McLadyboy wrote:Correct.Risca Rev wrote:Newport play Cross Keys and the winners play Bedwas to go through is my understanding of it.Hound of Harrow wrote:Afternoon lucky. Oi Prop... it will happen. And certain people will expect an invite to Mr & Mrs Props Home-warming. Maybe round the time of the Ospreys v Leinstuur HC game? Just sayin.

I am having a game of League for my station tomorrow now. Wish I'd known sooner and I'd have not trained so hard for Risca and not hit the booze in my house. Still, it'll be fun I'm sure.

Bore da pawb / good morning all, happy Wednesday.
Have you played much league, Rev? I used to watch quite a bit of Super League, but then I got rid of Sky Sports. I've watched to odd game since I got it again (for the Ashes) and there are some seriously skilful players around.
Great news on the gaff, Prop. Gibbo's right, you might need to arrange a Dew Drop housewarming!
I bought a new car on Monday. Ford Cougar 2 litre. It goes.

Morning (just).
Enjoy your game Rev. Having watched a handful of League games, the players have work so hard to get 10m back after each tackle.
That doesn't really come across on TV. Very fit lads those league players. And the games we saw in Aus were a notch above our Super League.

Well hopefully it won't be too much longer until you do have the keys in your hand.
Afternoon, Hound. Will you be watching the cricket?
The Dragons away shirts have arrived in the shop. I'm definitely getting one of these:

Nice simple design on that shirt lucky. Makes a change.
I might try and catch some of the cricket in a pub, but it will mean travelling somewhere.

Yes it is hard shuttling that ten metres Hound. I didn't appreciate it till I did it.
Anyway, I'm glad it's off as I was working my way through some booze in the house when I agreed to help them out and wasn't so up for it when I first woke up at 8am.

That happens to me too, Rev. The working your way through some booze bit, not the agreeing to play a game of league bit.

The really bonkers thing is that it's cheaper to get a return train to Gatwick, fly from Gatwick and stay overnight in a hotel when we get back than it is just to fly from Manchester!? Quite a lot cheaper too. So Gatwick here we come.
