Dolphin Ziggler wrote:Been a mare of a night with West Ham's PR and lil Jack Sullivan. He tweeted earlier:@jsullivanwhu: How would you feel if we signed Mboyo of Gent ? Terrible crime when he was 16, can he ever be forgiven ?
What do you think ?
Apparently, Mboyo was convicted of gang raping a 14 year old girl when he was 16.
A little later he tweeted:Jack Sullivan @jsullivanwhu 3m
99% of you have said no to MBOYO. I’ll pass it onto my Dad. I’m sure we won’t sign him. We respect your views.
So it looks they are unsure on their own morals and putting the decision on the fans. At first I thought it was an example for Remy, but now I'm not sure.
That account is more trouble than its worth...
I don't actually mind that. It's proving that at least someone at a football club cares what the fans think, even if he's not going about it the best way.

Think I'm resigned to the fact we'll have the same squad as last season but with the addition of Zaha, who looked impressive on tour. Januzaj and Lingard could be potentially quality in the future, and we need to make sure we keep hold of them. Think there's been some quality in the youth that we've lost due to mismanagemet the last few years
To be fair, Morrison was a "gangsta" who shouldn't be a part of any club whilst in a gang and Pogba was a complete twonk. Whatshisface that went to Belgium and then to Spurs was alright but there was something highly suspicious about that deal.

I won't, but thanks for the hand of friendship. I'll reject it, but thanks all the same.
Remy should be a cracking signing, albeit it could be completely horrible if he gets charged. Gutted to miss out on the footballer but not so much on the controversy.

I know that and I'm disappointed Utd lost a player who now looks potentially excellent. However, taken with a pinch of salt of course, Fergie said he had a pretty poor attitude and I can also remember something about him wanting a load of money despite being a youth player.

Speaking of urine poor attitudes, heres Taarabt. Poor player unless everyone else is instructed to just pass to him.
Would you expect him to be a happy bunny if he wasn't making the 18 despite being good enough?

I personally think that Taraabt is a good player he has quite a bit of potential in my opinion. However sometimes some of the negative things that he has done seem to over shadow his football which I can understand.

I'd like to see Taarabt under a manager that wouldn't take any crap from him, like Fergie. Only then can we find out how good he is. My gut feeling, alas, is that he will always enjoy being a big fish in a small pond and will never do anything in the PL.

Re: 2013 Summer Transfer Window Thread....Continued.....CONTINUED
Sending two players out on loan is ridiculous, especially two of the defence which was actually pretty successful last year. Skrtel had a poor season last year when Rodgers made it obvious he had no confidence in him, he's a top defender and deserves to be treated much better than he is now. He and Agger had a very good partnership as well and complimented each other much better than Agger and Toure do.
I'm also not happy with sending players out on loan instead of outright selling them, I can understand that it's to try and get them off of the wage bill but you risk them coming back in a years time, unhappy, still on the same wages but only with their value dropped.

We've essentially done the opposite of last year where we sold attackers without getting replacements in leaving his short in attack and the players we did just weren't good enough (Borini). This time we're doing it defence, fair enough we've replaced a goalkeeper and sent another one out on loan which is a stupid decision but have only brought in Toure and are thinking of loaning Skrtel out.
That would leave us with Agger, Toure and Coates as natural centre backs with Wisdom and Kelly perhaps playing there. If we get stuck without replacements, as happened last year then our defence looks really poor.

Remy isn't a convicted r**ist, so not sure why people keep claiming he's a r**ist. Innocent until proven guilty. I am assuming the club made contact with his agent & lawyer in connection with this on-going situation and seeing as we are making the deal, it appears he's more than likely to be innocent. Why spend £2m on a loan deal for him to be taken away from us.
I have no idea what Liverpool or Rodgers are doing. Another poor transfer window in my opinion and Suarez more than likely to leave. Mourinho made a mistake in claiming Rooney was the only target they wanted. Played right into United's hands.

Put the onus on Rooney to put in a transfer request doesn't really change anything. Transfer requests mean very little, only if the selling club needs to capitalise on the fee and are in financial trouble. Man U aren't and therefore will play hardball, which is exactly what they are doing. They know how badly Jose wants Rooney, therefore they will make him sweat and demand a huge fee. That's how I read it.

How badly does Jose want him? 2 lowball bids with a big gap between them doesn't sound like hes particularly desperate to me.

Rooney's out of favour at Utd and him being an asset as an impact player seems to be a thing of the past. He's been unsettled for some time, his lack of good form coupled with the new regime will not be doing him any favours and I think Mourinho has just put out a few feelers to see which way the wind is blowing. He's smart enough to know that all he needs to do is cough in a slightly strange way and the press will leap on it as proof of major machinations at Chelsea.
Can't see Rooney fitting in at Chelsea anyway and if their attitude towards accomodating him into their system is as poor as it was for Torres then it seems a massive waste of time all round.

Re: 2013 Summer Transfer Window Thread....Continued.....CONTINUED
Trite cliches aside, Rooney's poor form is quickly moving from temporary to something that might give cause for concern. I think he's caught between a rock and a hard place. He's unsettled mentally and staying at Utd isn't going to solve that but then the pressure of moving to a new club and adapting to a new system isn't going to help him either. Rumours are that his other half doesn't want to go abroad (sounding very much like the scenarios with the Beckham's where the non-footballer seems to make a lot of football related decisions)GSC wrote:Form is temporary, class is permanant. Where does Rooney play if he goes? Upfront with Lukaku, Ba and Torres or in Midfield with Oscar, Mata, Lampard and Hazard? On current form, I wouldn't have him as an automatic first team pick over any of those except Torres and he's generally on the bench anyway. (If Rafa can't get the best out of Nando, will Jose and if he can, where does that leave Rooney?)

With Rooney he can still be a menace. At the top of his game he is an asset to anybody. Unfortunately I can recall the last time we seen that Rooney for club or country

On current form being the key words. Where he still managed 16 goals.
Rooney is a quality player, offers a goalscoring threat and has technical ability leagues above any other English player. Now yes, he is going to have rediscover his form, but a lot of that is tied to his mental wellbeing imo. Jose will look after his players.
120 goals in 210 odd league games for United is nothing to sniff at. I'd have him over Lukaku, Ba, Torres, Oscar and Lampard

The problem with pogba was at the time he was ready to play in the first team he was stalling on a new contract and you can't reward that with more playing time- had he signed up he would have got more game time but he wasnt willing for what ever reason.
Fryers I've no idea what happened as he got plenty of game time as was a local lad then ended up in Belgium - likely financial and spurs dodgy dealings.
Morrisons nicer misdemeanours were selling weed out the back of asda, punching his mum over an unpaid drug debt and stealing watches from the first team dressing room. He was mental and could well end up in jail sooner rather than later.

At the moment, Morrison looks to have settled down. The move away from Manchester was certainly good for him, as was his loan spell at Birmingham, where Lee Clark apparently gave him a one to one dressing down that seemed to spark something in Ravel's head. His new friends down here are all footballers from his age group rather than lads hes known from gangs etc. Be interesting to see how much game time he gets with us this year after a very promising pre-season

Glad its been confirmed and no issues. Remy or Obertan/Gutierrez......no brainer. Not surprised by peoples negative view on him with the r**e claims but he`s a quality player, superior to the majority of players we have + its only a loan. IF (and it's a big, big, big if) Ronaldo were to return to Utd, do you think Rooney would want to leave? Roonaldo were an awesome partnership for a couple of years so would the possibility of playing with his great friend make him want to stay?
Ronaldo - Rooney - Van Persie. One salivates at the though.
Note: I use the word "friend" rather lightly

Depends entirely on Pardews preferred tactics. If we play Cisse up top in a 4-3-3 with Remy & Ben Arfa supporting out wide, then he won't be getting 15 goals. 4-4-2 with Remy up top alongside a Gomis figure would be more beneficial to him.

I think Downing for £5 million for Newcastle is actually a fantastic deal if it goes through, he's not a £20 million player but he's certainly a decent player and did well at Aston Villa and will probably work better at a club that at level.
