Darren Bent or Jermain Defoe?

Sir Les Ferdinand. Scored goals wherever he went, was criminally under-used for England, was the perfect foil for Alan Shearer at Newcastle. Top bloke. Dion is also a top bloke, but never achieved much, and I think he was lucky to get any caps for England tbh.

Peter Odemwingie or El Hadji Diouf?

Peter Odemwingie.  I'm still yet to see the fuss about Diouf.  Apart from his amazing ability to be a complete ********.

Alan Smith (Arsenal) or Kevin Campbell?

Alan Smith. Scored some crucial goals, good team guy, does well as a commentator. Super Kevin Campbell saved Albion from relegation, but never really did much with his career. Good pro, but Smudger scored in the 2-0 at Anfield and scored the goal that won the CWC in 94, so he gets the nod.

Gabriel Batistuta or Sergio Aguero?

Batistuta. Aguero is a great player but Batistuta was the archetypal striker. Fearsome shot, physical, great in the air. Bags of goals wherever he went.

Totti or Del Piero?

Del Piero, whilst similar in longetivity Alex made a much bigger impact on the world stage as a youngster helping Juve to all those CL finals.

R9 or R7?

R7 for me.  He is just on another planet.  His Madrid record now stands at 208 goals in 205 games I believe.

Ozil or Mata?

Ozil, has made a bigger impact at International level, played for a bigger team with more pressure and has performed at a higher level for longer.

Henrik Larsson or Wayne Rooney?

Rooney.  Technically better and although Larssons goal record is probably better, he would have done it against weaker opposition (majority of the time)

Tevez or Aguero?

Aguero. Less controversial, gets on with the job in hand and doesn't cause hassle within each squad. Also harder to pin down and more fluent in his attack.

Vinney Jones or Duncan Ferguson

Duncan Ferguson. Actually had some ability, unlike Vinny Jones, who would struggle to play in the Championship these days.

Jean-Pierre Papin or David Trezeguet?

Papin , always thought he was class .

Gary Lineker or Michael Owen ?

Owen. In his prime was world class, speed, balance & finishing ability of the highest order. Injury ruined him & cost him years. Would of gone past Lineker with ease, although Lineker was a great striker.

Hakan Şükür or Davor Šuker?

Hakan Sukur. Scored a ton of goals for Turkey, was always a pain, and although he didn't have the slinky skills of Suker, he was a proper striker. He'd be a £40m striker if he played today.

Chris Bart-Williams or Steve Stone?

Steve Stone , not the most gifted player but always put in a decent shift

Liam Brady or Graham Rix ?

Liam Brady. Not only a phenomenal player, but also keeps his hands to himself.

David Ginola or David Silva?

David Ginola on his day unplayable could of been much bigger

Garth Crooks or Ian Wright ?

Ian Wright. Supreme finisher, nearly didn't have a career because he started out so late, and Crooks is such a pleb that I'd vote for Ali Dia ahead of him.

Peter Beardsley or Teddy Sheringham?

Sheringham because he looks less like he dribbles. Plus he was a good player.

Beckham or Anderton?

David Beckham forget all the celebrity crap he was a very good player.

Ferdinand or Terry?

Ferdinand. I hate them both with a passion, JT is the better CB but Rio never lost a CL final by fluffing a penalty

Roberto Mancini or Giuseppe Signori?

Signori, when he was at his prime with Lazio he was one of the best player's in Serie A , there for one of the best in the world.

Christian Vieri or Hernan Crespo?

Vieri, had more of an all-round game in my opinion.

Kieran Gibbs or Gael Clichy?

Clichy. Tough call as I don't rate either defensively, but Clichy is better going forward.

Francesco Toldo or Angelo Peruzzi?

Angelo Peruzzi was a great keeper

Tom Ince or Paul Ince

Paul Ince. A born leader, a fighter, just what you wanted in your midfield. And that night against Italy. Tom has done nothing thus far.

Fabrizio Ravanelli or Gianluca Vialli?

Gianluca Vialli , think he did it more in the games that mattered

Viv Anderson or Mick Mills ?

Viv Anderson, CBs like him just don't exist anymore.

Graeme Le Saux or Leighton Baines?

No contest, Leighton Baines!

Paolo Di Canio or Faustino Asprilla?

Asprilla. Better scorer, better skills, not 100% mad.

Matt Holland or Wes Hoolahan?

Holland, mainly for longevity.

Luis Suarez or Robert Lewandowski?

Lewandowski, proven at the very highest level. Considerably better attitude.

Dennis Law or Kenny Dalgleish?

Denis Law. Scored a ton of goals and played for both Manchester clubs successfully

Great record for Scotland too.

Ally McCoist or Steven Fletcher?

Ally McCoist , good finisher who should of tried it down south

Tony Adams or Terry Butcher ?

Tony Adams. Finest captain in the history of the game for me. An inspiration. Shame he never managed to make a success of management.

Tony Cascarino or Mark Hateley?

Mark Hateley , good touch for a big man ....plus he gave me a conservatory

Kevin Sheedy or Ray Kennedy ?

Kevin Sheedy, based only on me having met him and never seeing anything much of Kennedy...

Nigel Spink or Neville Southall?

Neville Southall comfortably. He was so consistent throughout his career.

Benteke or Lukaku?

As of now I think Benteke is the better player, but I think Lukaku has got a much higher ceiling.

Jordan Henderson or Jonjo Shelvey?

Henderson is quietly fulfilling his potential at Liverpool while Shelvey clusterf*cks his way around the pitch for Swansea. Henderson wins.

Ian Wright or Nicolas Anelka?

Ian Wright , i loved his enthusiasm for the game and he put the ball in the net

Neil Ruddock or Steve Bruce ?

Steve Bruce, a top class CB and by far the best player to never win an England cap.

Pablo Aimar or Andres D'Alessandro?

Aimar , silky skills looked so comfortable on the ball

Dennis Irwin or Dennis Wise ?

Irwin. Waffley versatlile, solid pro, not a nasty bone in his body. I hated Wise.

Carlos Alberto or Roberto Carlos?

The only thing these two have in common is their first name. Dennis Irwin any day, world class fullback, right footed but played on the left, can take set pieces. Massively underated.

Keane or Robson?

Carlos Alberto good going forward but could defend aswell ...... and Robson far better allround player imo


John Toshack or Joe Jordon ?

Toshack. Can't remember seeing much of either, but I prefer Wales to Scotland, so...

Gianluigi Lentini or Angelo di Livio?

Angelo di Livio , never heard of either so will go for this one

Kevin Davies or Jon Walters?

You never heard of Juve's Angelo Di Livio? He was quality little player, proper character.

Kevin Davies for me. Long career, limited ability but he was dedicated to the game & made sure he got the maximum out his game. Scored plenty of goals too. Walters is just dog****.

Laurent Robert or Morten Gamst Pedersen?

Morten Gamst Pedersen. Scored loads of cracking goals, perfect attitude to the game, committed, loyal, intelligent. A fine player. Unlike Mr Sulky Pants Robert. I hated him.

Gary Cahill or Phil Jagielka?

Jagielka. More reliable than Cahill, who's more talented but can be too casual at times.
