Clichy isn't good enough anyway.........Useless turd !!........
Try being a Liverpool fan born in 1991, then talk to me about getting you're hopes up to be let down...
Clichy was owned by the Wigan kid in the cup final two seasons ago and he's still there......He's useless....
Should have bought Baines..

City never winning at Camp Nou anyway. Doubtful to even score two, just gives Sky pundits some straws to clutch on to pre match of a City turnaround in three weeks.

Cresswell has had links to City, hes not CL level but hes better than Clichy!

To be fair they do stink but they don't even get results with it, it's the classic brave British performance which involves battling from pretty much an already lost position to give themselves a slim to none chance. The kind of plucky loser icons like Frank Bruno the British media love!

I wouldn't say its over at all. Yaya back.
I am really annoyed with dzeko as he should have hurt them first half . Barca concede to corners and he had 4 decent chances . City are not an a typical cross, set piece team but with dzeko and against barcas biggest weakness they could have scored more.
Man City were the better team second half untill the sending off.
2-1 = slimmer of a chance , but yaya is also back. So I am adding an inch to that slimmer.

Messis first half was on another level. City nullified him with a higher press second half. Stupid performance and they should have started with that intensity ..but It seems every game when another team are getting on top of barca a player gets sent of and there is no better team in the world that plays a one man advantage better..

Re: UEFA Champions & Europa League 2014-15 Season Thread
You can't keep that intensity up for 90 minutes, also playing with that press, against quick, technical players, subsequently leads to over-hyped players getting sent off for little fouls. Happens every time, especially with European refs.
I still think Barcelona took the foot off the gas, two away goals has done the job. Are City really going to go to Barcelona & win 2-0 or 3-1? No. I can't take City serious in Europe until they've signed a new left back, centre back & another wide man of geniune quality. What is the point of playing Dzeko & having Clichy cross the ball into the stands, everytime. Silva & Nasri are not crossers, so playing Dzeko was pointless.
Also, is this harsh, but does Wilfried Bony already look like he can't hit a barn door for City? I'm struggling to see him being successful with Aguero playing.

If I was Arsenal fans I wouldn't go moaning about Mertesacker !!!...........
When people moan about his signings Wenger tends to keep them in the side another two years to try to prove everybody wrong !!

My fave thing about when Arsenal implode is Piers Morgan having another Wenger inflamed breakdown on Twitter.
Who dos he think Arsenal will bring in that will do better?

Piers is a Muppet, but its coming to the point where they have to change something because they arent moving forward at all. Fight for 4th spot which gives them a place in a competition they whimper out of.

Arsenal & Dyche
Appointing someone with no experience of a top club, no european football management experience & being trusted to spend £50m+ in a window, when previously you've been working with peanuts. That will be Moyes all over again.
For all Wenger's issues, if you appoint Dyche, you can kiss goodbye to those top 4's.

The one for me I could see going to Arsenal is Koeman, shown his pedigree at Southampton immediately, now used to the English league, for me he'd be a success there.

Koeman was my first thought, although whether his talents will translate when he cant bring in players from his previous ties who are a little better than the side he currently manages I dont know.
Just get Bielsa and enjoy the ride.
They are probably looking at Klopp and Pep, as well as Ancelotti's Madrid situation

In what way? If Arsenal are not performing then its down to their manager. That club has everything it needs to be doing better, so there must be something to the fact they're not achieving it

Koeman's a name so will have pulling power aside from Southampton/Feyenoord. I'd suspect the Eredivisie would be his main stomping ground though for fresh blood but its shown over the years it can be a great place to get young talent.
Bielsa at Arsenal would be brilliantly awful or awfully brilliant.

We need to stop thinking of Arsenal as a small team, they are not, any team capable of attracting Ozil and Sanchez will have the pick of any available managers, it's not a poisoned chalice at all.

He is a name, but I'm not sure hes a name that could bring in anyone Wenger couldn't, whereas I'm not sure players would look at a straight choice between teams and think "I want to work under Koeman" just yet. He'd be good for continuing the legacy of strong youth players, but whether he would take them further than Arsene i'm not sure. He'd certainly be my choice outside of the big names were Wenger to go at the end of the season.
