Fair play to Everton for their comeback today.
And well done to Southampton - fantastic away victory.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
Sunderland big problem is they allowed Di Canio to preside over a large turnover of players, meaning any new manager might not have much room to maneuver in January. Having let him restructure the squad so much in the summer, I think they'll be hesitant to let him go too soon

2. 5 wins in 26 games is nowhere near good enough.
Even I'm losing my patience with him and I supported him to the hill last year. It's pathetic that we only have 4 points after the 5 games we've had.

That's a rather odd thing to say NP. Should they have no allowed him to bring in his own players?
Never thought Hughton was particularly great really. Around the bottom of the PL/top half of Championship more his level. Might need to axe him to progress

Felt for him today to be fair, wasn't his fault snodgrass missed a pen, wolf missed an absolute sitter. And I thought redmond had drifted out of the game and was tired. Players fault you loss today they have to take some of the blameOlly wrote:1. Hughton.compelling and rich wrote:norwich fans turning on houghton already, fickle much!!

Think expections have got carried away from signing few "names". But in the end the likes of fer and wolf have come from poor leagues these days and was always going to take time to settle

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
I'm not saying they shouldn't be allowed to bring in their own players, but Sunderland might not have much spare cash from the summer. Also might be problematic as it's been a bit of a revolving door at the stadium of Light, adding more players to a squad which still has knitted together may exacerbated the problem.GSC wrote:That's a rather odd thing to say NP. Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
Whilst I agree to some extent Compelling, ultimately the buck stops with Hughton. And it's not been good enough for a long time now. We go into away games and just roll over for teams now, at least under Lambert we'd go away and have a go even if we did get smashed a few times.
If we lose at Stoke next week he's gone imo. He's got a good eye for a player don't get me wrong, but tactically he's all over the place. We have one tactic, which is to get it wide and cross. No creativity, as shown by the Hull game away.
To be honest the way it is now, I'd rather we took the risk of sacking him and going down. Because I can't put up watching this for another season

Yeah, they're shocking. Still, a good 3 points, 3 goals and a clean sheet. Can't argue with that. Sessengeon was bound to score and Amalfitano looks quality.

Hughton is a funny one really. He's kinda stumbled into management and done okay without threatening to look anything else.
If Norwich do get rid then he can look back over the last 5 years with some pride at least. Punched above his weight perhaps?

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
I can't argue with his recruitment. He's brought in some real quality.
But it's just not good enough on the field. I mean we had that 10 game run but that's been it. Only 2 wins in like 22/23 away games and one of them was against a Citeh team who couldn't give a t*ss. It's pathetic.
I stood by him last year but I've had enough quite frankly. It's depressing going to watch us play now

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
You obviously see them more than me and I only see you when your on tv so you'll have a better idea, poor finishing let you down today not the manager and thought he did a great job last season and see the fans turning on him already is disappointing. But then again im only on the second manager at my club in my life! So im abit biased when I think teams need to stick with their managerOlly wrote:Whilst I agree to some extent Compelling, ultimately the buck stops with Hughton. Norwich looked exiting- a bit like a swansea. BUt it didn't stick for whatever reason!!
Mourinho didn't like mata or luis from the start and I have said it before but he should have shipped them in the window!
The rumour that chelsea wanted to trade one or the other and 10m for rooney may have actually worked!!!
Sadly the reality is - even if JM plays either they are probably demotivated to play well for chelsea anyway and Rooney is on fire and his price tag is probably back up to 50m. So any deal to get the striker that they need isn't going to be so easy!

If I was Rooney I'd prefer Arsenal over the madhouse that is Chelsea FC.
I reckon Arsenal could surprise a few people this season.

I dunno Freeky honestly, some calling for O'Neill or Poyet but I dont want either. Who is there out there? Maybe its time we had our first foreign manager ala Saints.
Compelling watching us in 2013 has not been hard work, its been torture. We lost to a non league team in the cup ffs, we go away and roll over with a wimper and we cant create anything.
Most Norwich fans were prepared to give him the start of this season. And it hasnt got better its got worse.
Next three games are Stoke, Arsenal and Chelsea. I cant see us getting more than a point from them. When people used to think of Norwich it was this team who would always give it a go and we were genuinely good to watch. Now it's just Poopie

Norwich were exciting because Lamberts policy was to not die wondering. Hughton set up shop from day 1 and its why Norwich were useless away.

He's come out and said we didnt have a designated penalty taker today he thought RVW would take it but Snodgrass fancied it.
I MEAN WHAT IS THAT. HOW CAN WE NOT EVEN HAVE A DESIGNATED PENALTY TAKER?!?!
I'm off to watch the 2010/11 season review DVD with a picture of Holty

Sorry Freeky, Good man for that. As an aside, Ive been reading that Ozil offered to go to Arsenal, got to take it with a pinch, but Its entirely possible. Ozil made it quite clear he only joined Real because of Mourinho. Makes me think a Mata + £10m for Ozil deal would have been better than running after Rooney
