Culture Cup round 2: Best song never to reach UK top 5
The Culture Cup round 2.
First topic message reminder :
OK, after the roaring success of round one, here is the roundup.
Round 1 threw up a few surprises, not least seanmichaels claiming first place and Galted close behind in second. Not the section of the league that these two usually frequent. It was clearly incorrect because To Kill a Mockingbird is obviously superior to Lord of the Rings but there is nowt as queer as folk and the good people of 606v2 have spoken. They have also spoken enough to garner Niall Quinn's autobiography some votes and some points, despite the p*ss taking throughout.
Adam has made his usual solid start, taking third place which is one below where he will inevitably end up. Perhaps the biggest surprise is that Union finished with a vote and some points. Remarkable.
Table after round 1;
seanmichaels (Lord of the Rings): 12
Galted (To Kill a Mockingbird): 10
Adam (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory): 8
Hero (Fantastic Mr Fox): 7
Dolphin Ziggler (Hitchikers Guide to the galaxy): 6
onlytreblewinners (Strange case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde): 5
Azzy (Moby Dick): 5
compelling & rich (Storm of Swords): 4
The Boss (Niall Quinn's autobiography): 4
Jbeadlesbigrighthand (The Old Man and the Sea): 4
The Womble (A Kestral For A Knave): 3
Superflyweight (Trainspotting): 3
Julius (The Big Sleep): 2
Rowley (The Godfather): 2
Union (The Dogs of War): 2
TopHat (Rage): 2
ChequeredJersey (The Kindly Ones): 0
bhb (The Ragged Trousered Philantropists): 0
Question 3: What is the best film released since the turn of the century? Culture isn't limited to old sh*t so what is the best film released since the 1st January 2000. This should eliminate some people choosing old films that they haven't actually seen but come near the top of best film lists. It can be re-releases if you want, animated films, porn, whatever you think deserves a mention. Fo' shizzle.
Please PM me your answers and pick a couple of choices. As usual, if you don't get your first pick I will let you know.
Please see the poll for round 2. Please vote for your top 2 and remember, It is open for the whole forum to vote.
Thanks.

Jesus, Rowley, you'll have the ethics police after me soon.
BTW, Tina, your mum dropped you a PM to pick up milk on the way home. I might have deleted it by accident.
Next time you're at your Ma's place, can you ask her if I can have my underpants back?
I ddint say I was pumping your mum dude! It was a joke about reading your PMs!

What is an acceptable amount of days to wear underwear without changing them? In which case, the answer is One. Unless you're incontinent. Then you should really change as necessary.Mind the windows Tino. wrote:No, because it's Thursday.jbeadlesbigrighthand wrote:

The answer is 4.
Pants can be worn (i) normally, (ii) back to front, (iii) inside out, and (iv) inside out and back to front.

Not so sure about super's advice. Inside out is fair enough but back to front involves getting skid marks on your balls.

I got through 3 pairs one day. Had to hide one pair in the cistern at a pub.

Re: The Culture Cup round 2.
Pub was the only place I could find open on a Saturday morning after the initial incident (well known pub chain in Putney). I then went commando until I got home but had the sense to prepare for an afternoon of cricket - although I usually have a few pairs in my bag anyway to hold the box in place.Mind the windows Tino. wrote:So were you carrying spare pairs or did you keep nipping home?seanmichaels wrote:I got through 3 pairs one day. Re: The Culture Cup round 2.
The trick with wearing underwear again is to separate the re-wearing by a day. That way, you only slightly notice the change in elasticity, but they have had enough time lying on the floor (this part is important) to air a bit. As someone who never did his own washing at university, I learned many things.

I not sure it could have improved on underpantsgate though. I had forgotten what it was about by that point.Galted wrote:Feel a bit sorry for this thread. Must be devastating to be abandoned so swiftly now that round 3 is up.

Glad you enjoyed it, though it was meant to be taken seriously as I'm sure a good many teabagging sessions have gone wrong because of this.Mind the windows Tino. wrote:I not sure it could have improved on underpantsgate though.
