We must have been watching a different fight mate, that was pretty onesided for me Garcia by 5 rounds but the point deduction was fair punch was clearly south of the border seeing in replay.

Judges had it closer than me. A few close rounds early on i guess. The 'knock down made a difference, I had matthysse winning that round without it. 3 point swing with those cards makes it controversial.

All credit to Garcia - good performance and he deserves the plaudits. I thought the fight slightly favoured Matthysse after six, just about, and I thought there were even a couple of signs that his powe and aggression was starting to shut down Garcia's own offensive arsenal. But then Garcia got himself off the ropes, got back to moving, which I think he should do more often, and put in a disciplined showing.

I was also surprised at how well he stood up to Matthysse's power. When that right hand of Matthysse's shot his mouth piece in to the crowd I felt sure that it could have been a game-changer, but Garcia was clear-headed and came back to score the knockdown himself (albeit not everyone's convinced about its legitimacy).

I knew he had a good, solid chin, but now it looks as if it might be a great one.

As for Matthysse, well I was a little surprised with him. Can give him some benefit of the doubt as that eye will doubtless have hampered him, but he seemed a little more respectful of Garcia's power than I anticipated, even early on when things were looking better for him.

Not the fight I expected or hoped from but again, well done Garcia. I actually like him, in spite of his old man. Wouldn't begrudge him the fight against Mayweather in 2014 if it comes about.

This is why Khan would lose. He keeps talking about Mayweather and would do so again. Did it before defeats to Peterson and Garcia.

My scorecard doesn't really reflect how I saw the fight. Y'know how sometimes you add up the rounds and they come out a little different to how the fight actually was?

Also, I had it 10-9 Garcia in the "knockdown" round as I thought Mathysse won most of the round.

Seriously good performance by Garcia although I think the eye injury played a part in that. Mathysse was half as effective after his eye closed, but credit to Danny for that as it was he who closed it.

Problem with Khan is that he ain't got the power to stop Garcia, he would box his head off all night from range, lose concentration, one punch, game over. That's the Khan story unfortunately.
