Re: HC, Pool 2, Round 1: Toulon v Glasgow Warriors
To be fair to the Blues, they've just scored three tries in a 15 minute come back but the Chiefs had the bonus point in the bag by the half hour mark AND they've had two players sin binned. Honestly, some commentators seem to be blinded by stars and Lions. Jezzabel Guscott in his BBC column is confident that the best games of this pool will be between Blues and Toulon. I mean, WTF?RDW_Scotland wrote:Ooft - the blues getting completely shafted by the chiefs!
Is Asbo watching this?

Guscott knows nothing about the Rabo teams and hates scottish teams
anyone with any knowledge will know Glasgow / Toulon are going to be the games in this group

Re: HC, Pool 2, Round 1: Toulon v Glasgow Warriors
Did you guys read Guscott's 'guide to the HC pools' on the Beeb website?
Practically every 'player to watch' is just the player that Guscott has heard of, most often the resident Lion.
Castres? Richie Gray.
Leinster? BOD.
Racing Metro? Jonny Sexton
Perpginan? This is my favorite... James Hook.
The days of incisive journalism are over. It's sports reporting by the numbers, to the lowest common denominator.
The Planet Rugby pool guide was similarly mindless - the predictions were based entirely on league form. Glasgow are 5 from 5, which is better than Cardiff's 2 from 5. So that means that Glasgow will do better than Cardiff will. Nothing about how the two teams will play against each other (or even that the two teams already played each other this season and it was bloody close). No, just journalism by and for the lobotomised.

Orioli is out injured which means Toulon will only have on hooker (Noirot)

Re: HC, Pool 2, Round 1: Toulon v Glasgow Warriors
Gonna be a tough ask for Glasgow. Not beyond hope tho - and the defense is so good this year that should give them a chance. I'd prefer Niko at 9 than 11 but can understand why. Pyrgos has been good so far this season anyway.

What a kick in the teeth, from almost having the first try to going all the way back to the scrum then conceding an easy penalty.
Re: HC, Pool 2, Round 1: Toulon v Glasgow Warriors
nice catch by Wilko to set up that try. Giteau also involved with a great pass.

Glasgow doing well with ball in hand. Need more patience. Like their scrum half as well.

Toulon were well off their feet many times in that passage of play.

Re: HC, Pool 2, Round 1: Toulon v Glasgow Warriors
Although I'm pretty sure we should have had a penalty about 5/10m out from their try line. Getting cart blanche at the ruck a bit aren't Toulon.
Re: HC, Pool 2, Round 1: Toulon v Glasgow Warriors
This is pathetic reffing absolutely outrageous.

Interestingly the ref being not sure awards the try nervertheless...
Notch if Toulon makes you puke, suggest to watch something else. There is no point in making yourself sick!

How did Delon Armitage have the luck of being picked for this team? Not even in the same league as their other backs.

Re: HC, Pool 2, Round 1: Toulon v Glasgow Warriors
If this Toulon side was in a Barbarians jersey, I'd be loving it. When you see a side with just three players from their home country, you have to think that is very bad for European rugby in general.

That's your opinion Notch and has to be respected. Thanks for caring about France (not sure about the impact on european rugby) , very nice of youNotch wrote:If this Toulon side was in a Barbarians jersey, I'd be loving in it. Don't know what Glasgow can do here, impose a European salary cap at half time?

I have to stop watch because I can't take too much more of Dewi Morris!

So we've conceded more tries in half an hour then we have in the league so far
Re: HC, Pool 2, Round 1: Toulon v Glasgow Warriors
The French are right about The Rabo teams having an adavantage. I mean we have to home grow our players. Its really unfair that the likes of Toulon have to go out and buy the best players from around the world.

Did Glasgow ever stand a chance?
NO!
Plain and simple, all they have done is caught a few Pro12 teams cold at the start of the season then all of a sudden shoe in for HC glory!
Typical Scottish rugby starved of success then a crumb falls their way then it's drinks all round.

Amazing the difference 1 tiny little knock on makes. We had a 10 point swing 5 minutes in and have never really looked in it since then.

Williams and Botha in the second row!!
No team would match that.

Re: HC, Pool 2, Round 1: Toulon v Glasgow Warriors
Johnny Wilkinson goes off Freddie Michalak comes on for Toulon.
Alex Dunbar goes off Byron McGugin comes on for Glasgow..!
Such contrast.
