If it transpires that he has been sacked then I would be very surprised. The board do not have unrealistic expectations

Arry redknapp is almost guaranteed PL football next season with QPR. He would never come and secondly choosing him is a quick fire way of going into administration!
I would go with the lunatic dicanio tbh.
Palace need odd ball characters! and the players need a kick up the harris and we could probably get him for next to nothing as no one else would want him

Sean Dyche or Eddie Howe could be interesting names. Chris Powell at a longshot

Obviously if we could get Di matteo i would be pretty stoked in the short term, but not sure how it would be a lasting appointment- if we stay up he will go somewhere else for big bucks , if we go down he won't want to stay about!

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
What a joke club, Holloway did the impossible last season and got Palace to the Premiership with a squad that was tipped to be relegation contenders. I know the Play Offs is a lottery, and out of the 4 teams Palace rose to the occasion the best, although Brighton were at fault for the cause of there own problems of the pitch.
Holloway brought in to many players that really weren't needed IMO he didn't make any particular quality signings that would suggest Palace mean business. He has done his best, but its not ticking.
Tony Pulis would probably be Palace's best bet, they need someone with experience and who will bring stability. Redknapp wouldn't leave QPR, Zola i doubt would want to leave Watford and if Di Mattieo didn't want the Sunderland job why on earth would he want the Palace job.
Lets watch the scum go down in style

that he quit! .
It will be tagged as mutual consent- but all the sources around the club said he had enough and blew his top after getting abuse from a section of the fans

So much for Holloway being inspired by the "vision" of the Palace owners when he joined; he hasn't even seen out a year.

Di Matteo lives, and his kids go to school, somewhere near Leamington Spa. If that gives any clue to where he might end up next.NickisBHAFC wrote:If anyone is happy about his style of football mate, they don't get the concept of the sport football!mystiroakey wrote:"Di Mattieo didn't want the Sunderland job why on earth would he want the Palace job."

What's wrong with Robbie's style? It won a European Cup. It overcame a 3-1 1st leg deficit against Napoli.
Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
Robbie style is fine, its Pulis style that shouldn't be branded as football.

Di matteo's isnt exactly awe inspiring but you won't see me disrespecting it.. I just can't see how he would be a viable long term option for palace

Doubt Eddie Howe would take it. Doing a fine job at Bournemouth. Realistic chance of a play off spot.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
think palace fans would soon forget pullis style if he brought successful football. i would take winning 2-1/1-0 over losing 4-3 every week.
would palace prefer to be playing half decent football (lets not get carried away here your hardly going to play like barcelona) but struggling or pullis with not the best football but stability in the prem for quite a while just like he did at stoke?

Yes if he started getting results i would forget it in a second!!
But I cant see him doing that, I can't see anyone but the great the legendary SIR ALEX FERGUSON.(every game united play his stock is rising and rising, the man u team were playing under some kind of reverse kryptonite!!)
I reckon in 2000 years he will be thought of as jesus! and there will be a bible based on him!

Finally C&R, someone talks a little bit of sense. The concept of football is winning, as it is in any professional sport, the style of football that Stoke played was effective and it kept them in the premier league. Pretty silly to be knocking Pulis after what he did with Stoke.

The thing that annoys me most about football fans, other than the "against modern football" parade (usually lower league fans in their early to mid 20s who don't even remember "past football"), is when people go on about "playing the right way".hampo171 wrote:Finally C&R, someone talks a little bit of sense. But the Stoke fans tired of it. More importantly, I dont think Palace have a team that would suit Pulis' approach. Nor does their academy structure go along with it. Strikes me as a job Curbishley might take, well its in the South, but god knows what he is after these days. Stuart Pearce could be interested. Personally, Karl Robinson, Uwe Rosler or maybe Rene Meulensteen would all look good shouts.hampo171 wrote:Finally C&R, someone talks a little bit of sense. ive got a city fan mate who was a season ticket holder, that season under pearce he missed a game where they scored 3 at home. the rest of the season at home he only saw city score twice

You could argue that the Stoke fans will be missing it if Hughes doesn't improve on what Pulis did, such is the way of football fans. I'm not saying he's the right man for the job but you can't knock what he did at Stoke, Nick would take that style of football if it meant getting them to the premier league and cementing their place in the top flight, any football fan would.Dolphin Ziggler wrote:But the Stoke fans tired of it. Because you support chelsea over your local team!! that are so hard to beat but lack style..
What games would I want to watch in the PL between I dunno arsenal or chelsea.!!
ARSENAL- thats who!!
We watch football to support our teams or to watch great football..
the majority of people that watch these teams play watch the games for the entertainment value!
If your team entertains you but loses you are still up as a fan!
Why do you think arsenal fans have stuck so loyal, Why do you think wenger is the longest reigning manager in the prem!!!

The fact we have arsenals and even swanseas of the world trying to play an attractive style over just playing not to lose adds so much to the brand of the PL..
