Gatland on dropping O'Driscoll
First topic message reminder :
http://rugbyonslaught.blogspot.ie/2013/10/gatland-we-dropped-odriscoll-because.html
Speaking last week Gatland said that BOD was dropped because his legs had went in the last 15 mins of the second test and this was due to the Wallabies attacking his channel.
It seems strange considering a lot of players in the modern game only last that long and under less pressure

Re: Gatland on dropping O'Driscoll
I still think Henson should have started that first test in 2005.
If he had things could have been so different ..... the abs would probably have speared him rather than drico and we might have won the series.

Henson had so much hairspray on he would have been immune to spearing.rodders wrote:I still think Henson should have started that first test in 2005.

Re: Gatland on dropping O'Driscoll
on the contrary, Cyril... hair spray spikes give nice edges for deeper soil penetration when speared.

That's just asking for a 'regularly seen in Church' joke circa 2007.Comfort wrote:Get the Henson spiked look, for deeper pentetration.

Re: Gatland on dropping O'Driscoll
Who would have thought Henson would resolve this issue though?

Re: Gatland on dropping O'Driscoll
At least hair cosmetics/flora integration coefficients and tangential displacement of neck muscles as a result of said insertions...........
..........is finally a reasonable topic for discussion on a rugby board!
Beats the silly GatBODgate rubbish hands down.
Now has anyone got any charts on the typical forces that would operate on hairsprayed spikes as they're pile driven into NZ turf? Then we'll take it from there.

Re: Gatland on dropping O'Driscoll
That would be quite a good way of aerating the turf, wouldn't it?

Re: Gatland on dropping O'Driscoll
Collateral benefits do seem to be suggested in that area.. but further lab tests will be required to confirm those preliminary findings.

Re: Gatland on dropping O'Driscoll
Guys, I think thats what we do with the Millenium Stadium turf and everyone complains about it giving up too easy.
Its a well known side effect of the Henson method.

There might be some interesting findings as to the effect of various gels / hairsprays / mousses on the growth of the grass and possibly worm death.

Re: Gatland on dropping O'Driscoll
Good God!
Someone should put up a thread "Aeration of soil and worm death - Discuss" just for the fun of it.

Coincidentally, Aeration of Soil and Worm Death is the title of the new album by The Flaming Lips

Only in the rugby section does discussionary chaos rule supreme. Long may it continue.
