Eng v Aus match thread + build up
First topic message reminder :
Chance to chat about the game.
I think it will be a real cracker with England to take it by around 8 points or more.
I know every game is important but the management must have this penciled in as a must win because they can win it if they play it right.

You know it makes sense!Hood83 wrote:OK, positive vibes, I'll go with that stub!stub wrote:No! Let's be positive. Our pack will be strong, mobile and athletic and they will learn fast against a more mature but bruised and battered Aussie pack!!Hood83 wrote:I agree. Our pack has a callow feel to it.hugehandoff wrote:England's forward are not that great so Australia will get enough ball, and quick ball at that, for their superior backs to win via some classy tries. Corbs is a massive loss and that negates using the scrum as a weapon so sadly for me I expect another defeat. Oh well.

Re: Eng v Aus match thread + build up
It's very simple:
England have the better players, and if they play well (like they did against Ireland and France earlier in the year) then they will win.
If England play like they did against Wales or Italy earlier in the year, then it'll be a humbling defeat.
If England play like they did against New Zealand last year, then they'll obliterate Australia.
I'm going for the first option - England to win 26-14, 3 tries to 1.

Re: Eng v Aus match thread + build up
Wish i could be that confident, I'm expecting us to create opportunities but to have handling errors which means we won't finish off the moves. I think Australia will surprise a fair amount of people. I think it will be either a close finish that could go either way or Australia will walk it.Duty281 wrote:It's very simple:

Just watching the pre-game show. I am having my first concern. I see the highlights of Martin Johnson - then I see Chris Robshaw. I just can't equate the two of them. Robshaw is so vanilla, I wish someone would let him ride in a golf cart with Andy Powell. Or something like that.
Show me some emotion and grunt Chris. Please.

Re: Eng v Aus match thread + build up
Looking at this England squad, these are mostly all very nice choir-boy types. Exactly not the type we need leading this team.
In the starting XV, the best captain options would be:
Courtney Lawes - tough, uncompromising, never takes a second off.
In the XXII:
Hartley - this wuld send a message which is unmistakeable (assuming he can stay on the pitch)

There'll be no place for choir boys out there....

Re: Eng v Aus match thread + build up
Eh? canI have some of what youhave been smoking. England have no one to match Folau, Ashley-Cooper. Cooper and Genia. Tewelvetrees might be their equal but has yet to prove it but those 4 are the best backs on the pitch. The real qustion for England is can they prevent these guys getting enough ball? do that and England will win.Duty281 wrote:It's very simple:

dunno who will win - too many unknowns. Looking for lawes to continue his good form so far this year and show he is the player he looked like developing into a couple of years ago.

TJ to Duty if you are english you have to be better than anyone else immaterial of quality.
But to be honest I would say we are the better team and I am expecting the win. But to brush Aus of is pretty insane!

Well good luck to both teams, may it be played at pace.
I will of course be supporting the men in Green and Gold.

Intersting question of who to support fo me - seeing as its usually anyone but England but who doesn't enjoy watching the aussies getting stuffed. Can't even root for the underdog as who would qualify?
