Eng v Aus match thread + build up
First topic message reminder :
Chance to chat about the game.
I think it will be a real cracker with England to take it by around 8 points or more.
I know every game is important but the management must have this penciled in as a must win because they can win it if they play it right.

I've never seen so many attacking players off their feet and diving into the ruck since last time England were permitted do ignore the laws at twickenham.

Inevitable. Only one team making any territory with the ball. Ashton bad miss on the tackle but even so - speed and varied passing is the difference.

GE go somewhere else and don't spoil this one with your rubbish.

That's all I was talking about. Clancy finally spots the English tackler falling over the tackled player to obstruct the attacking ruck. At least he's onto it now!

? I was refering to the difference in intensity and error count, we are making lots of silly mistakes right now, because we are cold, whereas Aus are battle hardened and aren't making the same errors.BamBam wrote:Anyone can miss a tackle BF

I actually agree we got some lucky calls re this, looks like Clancy is tightening up on this now though.GloriousEmpire wrote:I've never seen so many attacking players off their feet and diving into the ruck since last time England were permitted do ignore the laws at twickenham.

This is useless. What happens when you have zero running threat in the backs. Re the try - Taylorman called it perfectly, wide and flat pass from Coops setting it off.

We look disjointed, our attacking threat isn't fluid,, the longer this game goes on for the better we should get, especially with such experience and quality on the bench.

brown and vunipula look decent. Farrell in his general play and kicking is killing us though.

I don't think Dickson is the problem. We need the ball.
Need to not kick it away. Need to keep hitting on forwards.

Oz deserve the lead, we are just being loose at the end of promising drives, and can't afford to leave points on the field, or just kick the ball back

I wouldn't be surprised to see Youngs and Flood come on early. Farrell just looks slow between the ears and too conservative / risk averse. compare what he has done to what Cooper has donebutterfingers wrote:No problemo.BamBam wrote:Oh sorry mate, I meant GE and was reading your post at the same time

Also, can't build pressure (in fact build it on yourself) if you can't get simple kicks

lol, I'm sorry but Cooper is at the other end of the scale. Too risky at times!TJ wrote:I wouldn't be surprised to see Youngs and Flood come on early. Are England trying to bore the Aussies into submission?
Got to do a lot better than that, see more intensity from a Sunday league team.

Re: Eng v Aus match thread + build up
Whats Flood going to offer though, he'll be flatter, and look to attack the line more, but who do we have off him, Robshaw and Wood aren't offering that line, and 36 is staying at a receiver role.
We need some incision, wheres the Ashton inside option? a crash from centre, Billy V can't be our only threat!
For the record I think Aus are looking very average, they're offering little, and if we can just get a bit more fluid should have too much for them.

you could say the next 40 are crucial for lancasters tenure - then again the die has long been cast

Re: Eng v Aus match thread + build up
Australia's attacking intent was the difference of that half, they're looking penetrative and more likely to score tries on the front foot. England's pack is more than coping physically but the lineout is depriving them of valuable possession. The scrum looks like their main weapon but Farrell hasn't converted nearly enough pressure. Folau has been the architect for Australia, very good technical duel between the fullbacks.
