Eng v Aus match thread + build up
First topic message reminder :
Chance to chat about the game.
I think it will be a real cracker with England to take it by around 8 points or more.
I know every game is important but the management must have this penciled in as a must win because they can win it if they play it right.

Not in this game. his passing has been great and includes a lovely behind the back reverse pass when Ashton thought he was going to nail him. I far prefer players who take risks - they win you matches. Is this a better Aus than played the lions? whats the difference? Cooper. We look disjointed, our attacking threat isn't fluid,, the longer this game goes on for the better we should get, especially with such experience and quality on the bench.

agree with parts, but not the last bit. England defending too narrow and not doing enough with the ball. Or taking their kicks.

He looked great in the midweek game. anyway the comparison between Farrell and Cooper says a great deal.nathan wrote:agree with parts, but not the last bit. They've bored me into submission.DeludedOptimistorjustDave wrote:Are England trying to bore the Aussies into submission?
Got to do a lot better than that, see more intensity from a Sunday league team.
One of our many problems is Rowntree's single coaching 'trick' - when the SH is ambling too slowly to the ruck, get a forward to pass out of the ruck to another forward who'll invite contact and then pop is to another forward. Great, except it's rubbish. Or at least rubbish if it is the only trick you have and the opposition defence is set to hit you about 20 yards behind the gain-line.
We need the Vunipolas to keep smashing it up and get players running on to pass at pace. What do our coaches and players do all week? Should say thought the Oz defence has been good so also credit to them. Coops pass also showed that our idea of a FH and centres with 'good distribution' is very much relative.

Don't get me wrong England can still win this bu they ain't going to win it with this game plan.

Re: Eng v Aus match thread + build up
England seem to have no cohesion on attack. It's just big guys trundling into contact. The passing is terrible and there is no structure. Coaches nightmare.
Australia getting hammered at the scrum I think a little unfairly.

Re: Eng v Aus match thread + build up
England isn't gaining momentum as their forwards are not running onto the ball, hence the amount of kicking

Re: Eng v Aus match thread + build up
Cooper showed his usual good touches for the Reds versus the Lions but as usual made a lot of mistakes. Same against NZ couple weeks ago. He is very composed and better today but to say Aus lost the Lions series because they were without Cooper is ridiculous and disrespectful to the players on both teams.

that he did. flat pass is the big differentiator so far no doubtHood83 wrote:This is useless. What happens when you have zero running threat in the backs. Re the try - Taylorman called it perfectly, wide and flat pass from Coops setting it off.

How many knock ons did clancy miss? And Browns foot was in touch.
I'm sorry but the referees are having a bad day and it's all going England's way in these bad decisions.

Yarde has a lot to learn. Should have cut that run back in. Even when he makes a good play, still making mistakes.

Because we value backs like Tomkins who have no pace or creativity. Our 9,10, 12 and 13 have almost no pace.GunsGerms wrote:Why are England so bad in posession? Clueless.

That was almost comical... foot in touch, forward pass, knock on... surely he could have found a penalty for England as well to top it off.
