Just found out I have called 9 of the first 10 games correct on the NFL's Weekly Pick'em game. The only game I got wrong was the Steelers vs Dolphins.

More a question of when Shanahan will be fired now.

Dolphins have the Patriots, @Bills and Jets left.
Ravens have the @Lions, Patriots and @Bengals left.
The Dolphins must be favourites for the 6th seed in the AFC now.

So, the Redskins are a mess. In fact, it's worse than a mess. I'm not actually sure there's a word that describes this level of poison and ineptitude and farce. I wish we could clear every person out of the building and start again. Snyder and Shanahan seem to truly deserve each other.

Re: Ongoing NFL Discussion Thread IV
What did we learn yesterday then.
The Lions can't stop beating themselves. The Eagles did nothing of note for 3 quarters Sunday. Then the Lions imploded. The Eagle had 3 TD runs of 38 yards or more, 150+ yards in a quarter on the ground. Stafford fumbled a snap deep in Eagles territory. The Lions were handed the NFC North and they're going to lose it.
The Seahawks lose a close one but shouldn't worry. Yeah a tough game to your big rivals is never fun. But the road to NY goes through Seattle and both SF and NO were dominated there.
Similarly the road in the AFC goes through Denver. The Patriots held on for a (assisted) win over the Browns but early indications are Gronks season is over. Holding off the Bengals is more realistic than chasing the Broncos.
The Colts are a bad team right now. Defense has gone to pot. OL sucks. WR corps are spotty without Wayne. Fortunately the AFC is terrible.
Is Cam ready for the playoffs. After the Patriots game I thought he'd turned a corner. Highlight reel plays aside he needs to do more.
Time is up for Mike Shanahan as a NFL HC. 4 years on the Redskins are still a dumpster fire. Losing track of how many massive defeats that is now. The problems don't stop with him however. Good luck to the next HC when Snyder already treats RG3 like the superstar he isn't.

One more to add from my perspective:
Give the damn ball to Marcel Reece. A fullback just got 120+ yards on the Jets front. McFadden is done and we need to get Reece much much more involved.

Yeah Gronk's done, a man's knee is not meant to bend that way.
And with him our chances significantly decrease. We've gone from our defence carrying our injured offence, to our offence carrying our injured defence, to injured offence and defence

If the Patriots had a list of key players at the start of last season that they couldn't do without, I imagine nearly all of them are now injured. Barring Brady. If I were him I'd look both ways a couple of times before crossing the road.

Indeed. Wilfork and Mayo heart of our front seven down, Talib is unrecognisable due to this hip injury. Only McCorty survives on D.
Gronk on offence, the rookie wr's now down as well. Lead running back can't stop fumbling.
Yet we're still 10-3. Belichick is working miracles this year. But there ain't no way we're winning in Denver if we even make the AFC title game. Unless manning goes down its Denver's to lose

I just hope the Seahawks don't win it all. They would be insufferable winners. Hard to see anyone toppling them at home though, and then it'll be a case of how strong their opponent will be from the AFC.

If the Jets can win in NE after being pounded 45-3, any given Sunday is alive and well. I like the Bengals in the AFC.
Something that flew under the radar. A Florida team put up 34 points in the snow at Pittsburgh.

Hopefully, but if he gets a new contract in the off season then you really have to ask questions of Allen and McKenzie
For the first time for as long as I can remember I'm actually genuinely excited for the football season to end. With the salary cap space we'll have we might have a genuine shot at putting together a half decent team

I think we need to give some credit to Reggie too though.
Sio Moore and Mychal Rivera were good picks, and DJ Hayden and Menelik Watson will need a bit more time. But if we get three or four hits out of any one draft it's better than we've been getting before... Add UDFAs like Streater and McGloin (and maybe Holmes), and he's done OK.
Reggie was also very astute in FA picking up cheap players that have performed well. Roach, Burnett, Walker, Sims, Woodson, Jenkins, Porter - all have been good for us.

ACL and MCL. Wowzer.
Gotta wonder how many more injuries he can take.
Also LeBeau is getting canned in Pittsburgh at the end of this year, that defence has been pathetic all year

Dick LeBeau is a living legend. I doubt hes being kicked to the curb just yet.
Talent is the issue in Pittsburgh, too many mainstays have been allowed to become old and ineffective with no contingency plan.

And the award for most ridiculous quote in the world today goes to Kirk Cousins for this belter:-
" My own personal perspective [is] I absolutely love the Shanahans and believe they’re doing a great job coaching us. I would like to see them still be here. But that’s not my decision to make.”
Yep, apparently in Washington, 3-10 equals a great job coaching.... beggars belief.

Did a fantastic job in Tampa but he just doesn't have the personnel to run that scheme. The defensive line is way overrated and the linebackers are nowhere near athletic enough.

It's not a crushing loss for Dallas, but it does give the Eagles breathing room. You'd think it's now or never for Rodgers to return for GB, so it's not getting easier

Rodgers hasn't been cleared so it looks like Flynn is in vs the Cowboys this week. Rodgers would certainly help the Eagles cause though. It looks like Adrian Peterson is out of the Eagles vs Vikings game.

And a 1 or 2 point conversion takes no time off the game clock. The play clock only operates to address delay of game.

Why? GB are 1/2 a game back on Detroit and the Bears. If Flynn can keep them in the playoff hunt (and the way the lions are shooting themselves in the foot...), then Rodgers could return in week 16 or 17, or maybe the post season to good effect.

They won't beat Dallas without Rodgers. They barely beat a Falcons team in free fall. GB has no margin for error anymore.
