the IT on Tuesday wrote:Penney said Conor Murray and Simon Zebo would return to the fray towards the end of next week and were not yet ruled out of the upcoming Heineken Cup tie with Gloucester.
Flanker Sean Dougall and centre James Downey (groin) will also miss this week’s game but should be fine for the Gloucester trip.
Donnacha Ryan will not make that clash and is unlikely to be fit for the final Heineken Cup clash with Edinburgh, but Penney said the lock would be available for the Six Nations.
profitius wrote:Munster team vs Ulster named. Its weaker than I thought it would be. No JJ, Cronin, Downey, Earls or Donn Ryan.
Munster: Felix Jones; Andrew Conway, Casey Laulala, Ivan Dineen, Ronan O'Mahony; Ian Keatley, Cathal Sheridan; Dave Kilcoyne, Damien Varley, Stephen Archer; Donncha O'Callaghan, Paul O'Connell; Peter O'Mahony Capt., Tommy O'Donnell, James Coughlan.
Replacements: Duncan Casey, John Ryan, BJ Botha, Dave Foley, CJ Stander, Duncan Williams, Johnny Holland, Johne Murphy.
Murray is back in training and Zebo must be nearing a return also.
the IT today wrote:There is some optimism in Ulster as the province is expected to announce a three-month contract for Stephen Ferris, which would give the popular Ravenhill figure a realistic chance to prove his fitness.
The highly-regarded international has been unavailable due to injury since November 2012 but has been making progress on his ankle injury since an operation in the summer. Ulster also expect that their captain, Johann Muller, Irish international backrow Chris Henry, John Afoa and Nick Williams will be all set to face Munster in a sold-out Ravenhill on Friday. It is also expected that forward Iain Henderson will return.

First reaction- TERRIBLE news Muller suffered an injury in training this week. Big blow- hope he is there for Montpellier. Extra back row forward on the bench to cover for the fact Henry and Henderson are on their first games back.
Hanrahan isn't involved at all for Munster, not gutted about that.

Great game so far its a good night for rugby there and both teams are going for it. Ulster need to refocus now and make sure they don't let up in the 2nd half. payne is magnificent.
Re: Ulster v Munster
Absolutely embarrassing from Munster! Keatley everything dod said about him is proving to be spot on. Take him off now.
Ulster playing ok but in fairness when keatley keeps giving them back the ball they should be further ahead

Re: Ulster v Munster
Keatley is having a mare and has really handed Ulster far too much possession and the wasting of points is giving Ulster even more momentum. Ulster have been 10 times better than last week and have played some excellent rugby. Well worth their lead and then some.

Re: Ulster v Munster
I think if Munster had a kicking 9 (they should never have let Murray stop practicing kicking) then Keatley would be ok. He seems good with ball in hand but his poor kicking is starting to effect all of his game.

ah Rodders how are you sir it's been a while enjoying the game? I see Cari has disapeared of the posts since I was last on as Bowe is injured lol I think Rolland has been ok he has been fairly consistent at least with his refereeing we need to tighten up the discipline though

Re: Ulster v Munster
About time Rolland looked at Archer- he has been boring in at an angle at every scrum.

I'm good Rodders all better now well the voices in my head are still there but sure they were always there Munster lucky before that Rolland didn't come back to that off the ball tackle on Trimble for it should have been a yellow

I can't believe that a man wearing orange could be so pro-Munster

Good man Neil, speaking of voices in heads O'Connell should be in the bin for taking out Trimble rather than acting as O'Mahoneys ventriloquist.

Poor defence of the maul there on another note who are the people showing these replays they are not actually showing us the incidents
Re: Ulster v Munster
I guess all of you wanting a yellow card for Trimbles's take out didn't see POM get blatantly taken out?

Tuohys late hit on POM was pretty cheap and nasty. I hate that sort of thing.

Very bizarre call on that penalty. Looked like a good turnover to me. I suppose he had to give Ulster something eventually. He's been dreadful tonight.

How people can see Rolland being for Munster I have no idea. He has been dreadful but equally dreadful for both sides.

Bizarre game - Munster have been robbed of the win and Ulster of a 5 point win simultaneously. Rolland was terrible.

Well played Ulster, a marked improvement on last weeks display. Bad second half but Payne won it for you guys in the first half with a simply stunning display.

Re: Ulster v Munster
Well that was a lot tighter than half time suggested. payne was excellant, Henry did well, Afoa was good and centre turned over well. Munster put up a fight and Keatley lost his kicking boots. Rolland was terrible but at least was consistently terrible really could have been about 4 yellows in that game other than the one he actually did give kinda pointlessly a minute before the end. In the end I felt Ulster deserved the win and Chris Henry should have done much to help his Ireland chances there.
Re: Ulster v Munster
Never mind Rolland, that touch judge Dudley Phillips is very dodgey. The lineout near the end was thrown straight down the Munster line and Phillips apparently saw nothing wrong with it, then penalised Tuohy for taking out the Munster jumper.

Artful_Dodger wrote:At Ravenhill...and looking at the two team sheets, Ulster should really be winning this. Munster have a very poor recent record against Ulster and for me that Ulster team sheet is much stronger, particularly the back line and front row. Munster have much more experience and quality in the second row and a pretty good looking backrow, but I'd give Ulster the edge everywhere else.
Ulster by 10.
Why didn't I put a few quid on this

Dont think he was given much of a chance - I still see him as a decent alternative to Earls long-term - not a full back but wing/centreGolden wrote:Jones was anonymous again. Long gone are the days when he was pushing Kearney for the irish jersey
