First topic message reminder :
Well, nothing on here much for discussion so thought this could begin.
At the moment Westisbest is probably pulling his hair out, whilst Wigan are marching on towards there second FA Cup in a row.

Respect to forest though . if you didn't know these teams and had to guess which was the PL team it wouldn't be west ham.

Yeah he is a class player Mysti, but he just simply isn't ready for the World Cup. A game like today just simply proves that.
West Ham have looked like a poor Championship side today. Completely outclassed by Forest.

Young lads not really ready for this, been mugged a bit by the formation too. Liked the way they've tried to play it neat. Don't look near as fit or as strong, plus these are proper players they're up against, not dev squad lads.
Funny, Ravel has a game back from a little injury in a game we're not playing well, doesn't play well then isn't good anymore. 20 years old

I can't wait for the world to return to normal where people stop holding up Huddlestone as the pinnacle of Premier League midfielders.

Patterson is class. What a hatrick.
If West Ham want to stay up that numpty big Sam needs to go. Rubbish manager.

Think this result is really going to pile the pressure on Allardyce. Symbolically awful.

Re: The FA Cup
Again, most fans will understand we've got barely any fit players, 3 games in 7 days and the cups can't be a priority. And that this is a team that's got 8 players younger than me. Knee jerkers will react, a lot of others wont

Development squad or not. West Ham have been dreadful. Outclassed by a Forest side, who isn't at full strength anyway.

Re: The FA Cup
This game really has no effect on whether I'd back Sam or not. The young ones that come back well from this are the ones that will make it. Been missing our two best under 21 defenders too, not sure why Ruddock (no relation) and Chambers aren't there.

I didn't raise an eyelid when palace won its not important. But getting beat 5-0 hurts. You know it does.
But let's forget west Ham for a bit.

I'm not really sure where I stand Mysti, it's hard to tell whether we'll improve when all the injured players come back or not.
Nick, an extra goal really doesn't change my mood. I never expected to win, once we got opened up we fell to pieces because they're young lads. Sadly, I expected you had a life, but as ever I was wrong

Re: The FA Cup
Yeah, that's why I said symbolically it's a really bad result. I'm not sure the FA Cup will have been on the radar for West Ham anyway, more interesting in survival, but the way they went out mean there will be a lot more scrutiny on Allardyce. If this was a 1-0, 2-1 loss it would be ignored as a result, but they've lost 5-0 to a team in a lower division so questions will be asked.

The only part I'll miss, as is always, is being in the draw. Id happily be in the draw even to not get another game. Just like being drawn out of the hat to say "and West Ham...play no one"

Re: The FA Cup
I can promise you, the mature and reasonable fans I know expected to lose and were watching for the young lads. And no reasoned fan will be surprised to see the way they split when things went wrong, they were taking a battering and they're not gotta sit in and scrap out to maintain a 2-0 or a 3-0. Men against boys and it proved so.
You think this was bad, we play City away midweek and wont play a full team for that either

I agree, but knives will come out from a good portion of fans and the press, the result couldn't have come at a worse time.

The problem was the young lads didn't look interested and the older guys played poorly. Can't remember Maiga or Downig having a touch

Jamie Paterson's Wikipedia wrote:
On 2 July 2013, Paterson signed for Nottingham Forest on a three-year deal. The fee was undisclosed, however it was believed it was a six-figure fee with add-ons taking the total amount beyond £1million.[12] He scored his first goal for the club in a pre-season friendly against Belgian side Royal Antwerp on 20 July. His first competitive goals came when he scored a hat-trick against West Ham United in the FA Cup third round on January 5 2014.[13] He is a ponse

Anyone but Palace for me, like i said yesterday i can't take more expected humiliation.
League one or league two side at home.
Or a big side away e.g. Arsenal or United.

Re: The FA Cup
Maiga was poor, Downing looked unfit (no surprise considering). The young lads got picked apart by better players who are not only fitter and stronger but more confident too. You knew this game was low priority by the way he managed the subs. Diarra and Downing were gonna get that amount of game time no matter the score, it was a run out for them. And he never fixed the obvious problem of 3 men in defence. It was a mere exercise.

No knives that werent out already will come out on the back of today. Would be odd to sack him now if they were happy to stick with him after WBA and Fulham.
