Ramsey plays how long in his first start in months? Yep Arsenal are definitely just unlucky with injuries. Not their own doing whatsoever.

Well we have had the hardest route to the final. A north london derby against Tottenham and a victory over liverpool who are top of the league and then a victory today over the current fa cup champions wigan.
You drew with a Championship team.
Re: The FA Cup
I would far rather be Arsenal's position too, we should all know by now that fighting for fourth and the fa cup is more attractive than battling for the league title.

Spurs? The team that drew 3-3 at the Hawthorns today? They haven't been anything special all season, and you've struggled past Wigan, that isn't a slight against Wigan but the players you have just aren't good enough.

I can name you 2. As you well know Hampo.
Yup, I can tell you something though Freak, this game has proven that no matter what Arsenal do now, their season is no where near as good as Liverpools has been no matter how much CS protests :DEverton to beat them to fourth as well
You just can't congratulate Arsenal can you?

I don't care how they did it, they did it. We were a bit unlucky to not win it outright as we wasted a number of good chances. Still a special win. Credit to Wigan they didn't beat MC at home for nothing, I think they were a bit fatigued at the end as they chased the ball for 120 minutes. Fabiansky was huge and all of our spot kickers did their job. I love people trying to cheapen Arsenal being in the FA cup final. Job almost done in the cup.

Shocking all round. Rosler handed the game to Arsenal by taking McManaman off & made sure Wigan had no out-ball or counter attacking threat, just invited pressure. Arsenal were shocking but deserve credit for actually getting to the final & not bottling this one.
If Arsenal play like that in the final, fully expect Hull to have a more than serious chance of winning the trophy.

This game more than anything was a real gut check for Arsenal.
Stop underplaying Wigan to put down Arsenal please. Makes you look petty more than anything. This was never likely to be a cakewalk.

My thoughts exactly, people know Arsenal are massive favourites for the cup and so they are trying to cheapen the cup.
You got a liverpool supporter trying to say his season is better but liverpools season wont be better if you lose to man city and chelsea and finish 3rd and win nothing.

I agree Gerrard should have been yellow carded three times in that match only got called for the middle one, and Skrtel should have been called for a penalty against Cazorla. We know LFC have been living off the dive in the box this season so maybe the ref missed one going the other way.

Yeah, Socal. I meant the ref was in Arsenal's favour. Stonewall pen not given when he was about 10 yards from the challenge.

They're currently the 25th best team in England and that's all there is to it, United got a ribbing for losing to Swansea for christ sake, yet we're meant to give Arsenal credit for not even beating Wigan.GSC wrote:This game more than anything was a real gut check for Arsenal.

Re: The FA Cup
Arsenal were very very poor. They were up against a Championship team, that lost at home to Millwall on Tuesday night. They should of battered them and they didn't. They had to rely on penaltys and given the players they had, there was no chance of them losing on penaltys.
Ill give credit though, they dug in and got the win, and it's not easy against anyone in the Cup, esspically a team like Wigan who have proven in the past there no pushovers.
But ill stand by what i have been saying, Arsenal have been handed the FA Cup, since Wigan beat Man City.

I honestly thought Wigan would win but in the end they hardly had a chance. What did the Arsenal keeper have to do for 120 minutes? Arsenal hit the woodwork several times and although they didn't play great as confidence is at an all time low, no one can say they didn't deserve to win.

CS for years we hear about Arsenal don't win anything etc. We have a chance at really good win at Wembley in May and all everyone wants to talk about is how awful Arsenal are and how any other top 8 side would have done. Funny we knocked out 3 of those top 8 sides to get here and I could have sworn that sworn team Abu Dhabi lost at home to the side we played tonight. If Arsenal do win the FA cup look for everyone to demean the victory and this glorious competition.

You can't compare it to the City game at all, their aspirations are a little bit higher than winning the FA cup and that's the same for all the top teams. Would I want United to win the Fa Cup of course I would but i'd rather see them challenge in Europe and for the League title every day of the week.

Socal, people are saying you played awful today which is true. You've struggled past a Championship team and rightfully deserve to be criticised, however if you go and win it then fair play to the players. But right now, looking back on that 120 minutes, you played like a distinctly average team.

It's not like anybody has gone into to the Arsenal thread and attacked them. They scraped by a Championship team. It's not a win they should be able to celebrate over the top. The players on the pitch looked like we did after the Champions League final for gods sake.

Yes we struggled, but I think were very unlucky to even be in that shootout. There were a couple of good saves by their keeper, a ball cleared off the line and we hit the woodwork twice. I am not looking past Hull, they have played well enough and have good players to beat us. I am happy the players held their nerve and we are in a cup final. So shoot me for being happy about it. Frankly we haven't looked good in league in recent weeks but that isn't what we are talking about right now.

It doesn't help that you and Socal play the victim card everytime. Oh, poor Arsenal. The way you two bleat on is as if Arsenal are a mid table team and anything they can get above that is success.

Wigan may be a championship team but they are also the fa cup champions and they are a european team who played in the europa league this season. very tough team who beat man city at the etihad in the last round.

Thought Carson's tactic in the penalty shoot outs was dreadful. By running between the posts, he simply made the unmarked part of the goal more visible and encouraged the Arsenal players to hit the ball there rather than putting them off. Naive and stupid.
